A Study on the Factor Demand Structure of Sweet Persimmon (단감의 생산요소 수요구조분석)

  • This study analyzes the factor demand structure of sweet persimmon as a part of finding out cost cutting measures. Income and cost data from 2001~2013 Agricultural Income Survey are used for placing the translog cost function and estimating price elasticies and cross elasticities of labor, capital and intermediate input. The result shows that own price elasticities of all factors are small in absolute terms. Additionally the result indicates capital and intermediate input cannot be a substitution for labor, which is a top-line cost-share. It means that the demand for labor cconstitutionally can't be reduced in a short time. This implies that cost reduction should be done focusing on intermediate input, particularly on fertilizer and materials which have higher price elasticity of demand.

An Impact of Gas Prices on Transit Demand Using a Time-series Analysis and a Regression Analysis (시계열 및 회귀분석을 활용한 휘발유가격의 광역권별·수단별 대중교통수요 영향력 비교분석)

  • Depending most of its energy sources on foreign countries, Korea efforts to reduce energy consumption in transportation. While studies on the relationship between gas price and transportation demand are many in number, most previous studies have focused on automobile and Seoul. This study analyzes the impact of gas price on transit (bus and subway) demand using monthly data and for various metropolitan areas (Seoul, Busan, Daejeon, Daegu and Gwangju). The research utilizes a time-series model and a multiple regression model, and calculates modal demand elasticities of gas price. The result shows that elasticities of subway demand with respect to gas price is higher than those of bus demand. In addition, elasticities of predominantly automobile cities are more likely to be more sensitive to gas price than those of cities with well-structured transit system.

Estimation of the Elasticity of Energy Demand and Performance of the Second Energy Tax Reform in Korea (수요탄력성 추정을 통한 2차 에너지 세제개편의 성과평가)

  • The goal of this study is to analyze the effects of the second energy tax reform of the transportation sector in Korea. For this purpose, we estimated the elasticities of energy demand(for gasoline, diesel and LPG) by using the ARDL(Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag) Model during the period of 1997 and 2005. We have the empirical results that the demand for diesel would decrease as much as of 382 million barrel per year and the demand for LPG would increase as much as of 20 million barrel per year since 2007. The second energy tax reform would also result in the decrease of 27,346 ton of air pollutants and 0.96 million ton of carbon dioxide per year. This shows that the second energy tax reform would have achieved its own policy goals by reducing energy demand and improving the quality of environment.

  • In this paper, we test for allocative efficiency of productive inputs including electricity and measure the divergence between the actual and optimal level of electricity for the chemical products, which is a relatively highly electricity-intensive sector in Korean manufacturing industries, by estimating a shadow cost function. Supposing cost minimization subject to market prices was achieved, we derive the price elasticities of demand for each input and simulate the impact of a 10% increase in power rate on its demand and supply price by estimating jointly a cost function with an inverse supply relation. The null hypothesis of allocative efficiency of inputs is rejected over the period 1982-2006. On average, electricity is used more than optimal level by 98% per year. The demand for electricity decreases by 11.4%, and supply price, on average, falls by 0.08%, other things being equal.

  • 본 논문에서는 쿠르노 모형을 적용한 양방향입찰 전력 풀시장에서 입찰에 참여하는 발전기가 최대 이익을 얻기 위한 입찰전략으로서 신경회로망의 오차 역전파 알고리즘을 이용하여 최적 입찰발전량과 입찰가격을 수립하는 기법에 관하여 연구한다. 전력시장 환경은 n 개의 발전기들이 참여하는 비협조적 불완전정보 시장으로 설정하고 Bayesian의 조건부 확률이론을 적용하여 상대 발전기들의 발전비용함수와 시장의 수요함수를 추정하여 발전기 상호간 쿠르노-내쉬균형점을 이루는 최적 입찰발전량을 예측한다. 그리고 이익을 극대화시키기 위해 오차 역전파 알고리즘을 이용하여 시장의 가격 탄력성과 쿠르노 시장균형가격에 연결가중치를 조절함으로써 입찰가격이 계통한계가격에 근접하도록 최적 입찰전략을 수립한다.

KAPE연구 - 제주흑돼지와 제주일반돼지의 도체등급, 육질 및 물성 특성 비교

  • 본 연구는 식품제조산업 현장에서 원료육으로 많이 사용되는 제주산 돼지고기 중 제주흑돼지가 제주일반돼지에 비해서 돼지도체 등급판정 기준에 의한 비교시 높은 등급이 나오지 않음에도 불구하고 가격이 높게 나오는 현상에 대한 원인을 규명하고자, 제주흑돼지와 제주일반돼지를 구입하여 도체상태의 육질 특성과 정육상태에서의 물성특성을 조사하였다. 도체상태에서 제주흑돼지는 제주일반돼지에 비해 육색의 적색도는 유의적으로 높았다. 돼지고기 정육의 물성을 조사하기 위해 제주흑돼지와 제주일반돼지 중 도체중량이 유사한 도체를 선별하여 분석하였다. 돼지 껍데기에 대한 물성을 조사한 결과 제주흑돼지와 제주일반돼지에서 차이점은 탄력성(springness), 응집성(cohesiveness), 탄성(Resilience)에 유의적인 차이가 있었고, 돼지 생육에 있어서는 탄력성(springness), 응집성(cohesiveness), 탄성(Resilience)에서 유의적인 차이점을 보였다. 이상의 결과를 종합해 볼 때 식품제조 원료로써 제주산 돼지고기를 구매할 때 제주흑돼지는 제주일반돼지에 비해서 도체상태에서 육색의 적색도가 유의적으로 높고, 돼지고기 껍데기와 고기의 탄력성(springness)이 높고, 응집성(cohesiveness), 탄성(Resilience)에서는 낮은 값을 나타냈다. 따라서 생육상태에서 식품제조 원료육으로 돼지고기를 구매할 때 물성항목이 품질평가에 중요한 지표로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

에너지/탄소세 부과가 한국산업구조에 미치는 영향분석

  • 본 연구는 기후변화협약이 한국의 산어구조에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위해서 투입산출모형을 이용하였다. 가장 실현가능성이 많은 에너지/탄소세 부과 시나리오별로 에너지수요에 대한 가격탄력성을 고려하여 가격효과를 살펴보고, 이것을 이용하여 궁극적으로 한국산업구조에 어떠한 영향이 미치는 가를 분석하였다. 또한 이러한 결과들을 바탕으로 한국산업구조의 특수성을 감안하면서 중 장기적으로 합리적인 산업구조조정을 수행하는데 필요한 성장산업과 사양산업을 구분할 기준이 되는 지수를 개발하였다.

PSM based Price Estimating for Local Mixed-Use Apartment Development (PSM기반 중소도시 주상복합 아파트의 분양가 추정에 관한 연구)

  • Since the late 1990s, mixed-use apartment, armed with high qualities and large scales with a high ratio of TFA(Total Floor Area) have been continuously provided accommodating exclusive community facilities along with high-tech securities, not to mention excellent skyline view. However, especially in mid-small cities, there have been only a few supplies. As a result, none of the mixed-use housing provided by high-end brands has ever been built in non-metropolitan area. But constructors couldn't plan the projects which aims to build the mixed-use apartment in local city, because they couldn't get the basic data or advanced research for feasibility analysis. Therefore, to suggest the useful price for mixed-use apartment supply project of local city, the PSM(Price Sensitivity Method) widely used for determining the price preferences as a market research tools has been applied. As analysis results, the estimated price of mixed-use apartment is 10.8% higher than general apartment, and mixed-use apartment has lower price sensitivity than general apartment. As price determinants, the age, education level and family size influence on UTP in significant level. It is expected that these research findings can be applied for establishing the solid marketing strategy of mixed-use apartment development project in local city.

Estimation of diesel fuel demand function using panel data (시도별 패널데이터를 이용한 경유제품 수요함수 추정)

  • This paper attempts to estimate the diesel fuel demand function in Korea using panel data panel data of 16 major cities or provinces which consist of diesel demands, diesel market prices and gross value added from the year 1998 to 2015. I apply panel GLS(generalized least square) model, fixed effect model, random effect model and dynamic panel model to estimating the parameters of the diesel fuel demand function. The results show that short-run price elasticities of the diesel fuel demand are estimated to be -0.2146(panel GLS), -0.2886(fixed effect), -0.2854(random effect), -0.1905(dynamic panel) respectively. And short-run income elasticities of the diesel fuel demand are estimated to be 0.7379(panel GLS), 0.4119(fixed effect), 0.7260(random effect), 0.4166(dynamic panel) respectively. The short-run price and income elasticities explain that demand for diesel fuel is price- and income-inelastic. The long-run price and income elasticities are estimated to be -0.4784, 1.0461 by dynamic panel model, which means that demand for diesel fuel is price-inelastic but income-elastic in the long run. In addition I apply dummy variable model to estimate the effect of 16 major cities or provinces on diesel demands. The results show that diesel demands is affected 10 regions on the basis of Seoul.

  • The objective of this study is to estimate the price elasticity of demand for telephone use in Korea. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the existing empirical study and establishes the econometric demand estimation model applicable to Korean telephone service. By this model, the price elasticities of demand in local and toll uses are estimated and their implications are discussed.
