I already wrote a thesis about A Study of Ideologies and Stylistic Features of the Oral Narratives in a Collection of Lee, Duck Moo's Works(ChungJangKwanJunseo)" in The Classical Literature and Education Vol.11, (2006). At that time I held over a study of figure's episodes. So this essay is a series of the thesis. In this essay, I described his critical ideas about the figure's episodes of other people. I classified as the gentry's episodes and the common's episodes, and ones more classified these as the Confucian's moral episodes and the oddity's strange episodes. And I studied the narrative principles and features of narrative structure. He asked for a reasonal thinking attitude in the figure's episodes of other people. In his the gentry's episodes he indicated as a important value the constant attitude of propriety and dignity. The other hand, in his the common's episodes he thought importantly a practical act of the Confucian's moral. He showed man's equality and criticized the anti-practical attitude of the gentry group. In the oddity's strange episodes were focused on the super ability of figures in the both of groups. And then even though there are unreal or unreasonable contents in the oddity's strange episodes, he did not criticize. His such attitude was came out to take interest in unreal story like the Paesasopeum(稗史小品). The the narrative principles of his episodes are two types, one is a summary or a report type, the other is a descriptive of events type. the former was explained by narrater, the latter was described as the indirect or direct narration of the characters. In the structure of narrative in case a summary type were enumerated with the episodes, but in case a report or descriptive type of events were contrasted with characters. A story-telling way of figure's episodes borrowed from 'Jeon(傳)' or 'Yadam(野談)' genre. And a point of view in case a summary or a report type was consisted with a center of narrater, in case a descriptive of events type was consisted with a center of witness.

Seochon('West Village') is located in the west side of Gyeongbokgung(Gyeongbok Royal Palace) inside the old city wall of Seoul. Seochon has beautiful scenic view surrounding Mt. Inwang and has been known as the representative historical and cultural landscape region in Korea that historical and cultural resources are rich. But when the figure of Seochon which has repeated the changes with the ones of the times is considered, values of beauty of natural landscape that Seochon had and its own placeness have not been gradually recognized as it has been swept away in logic of the development on the strength of economics. This study tries to examine the original form of landscape on Seochon which can be the standard of landscape change, the causes and process of its change and possibility to conserve and restore it to recognize potential value about historical culture of Seochon landscape and conserve and protect it. For this, this study compared and analyzed literature including poems and Yusangi, paintings and names of the scenery of the seasons as the landscape texts with the current status. The study result has found that Pilwundae should rehabilitate cultural assets to secure the prospect right and protect neighboring bedrock, Suseong-dong should expand the restoration areas focusing on the projects to make parks which are now being restored, Cheonghwigak and Cheongpunggye areas should restore waterways including historicity which is connected to figures and Seshimdae and Baekun-dong green zone should set the protective area for conservation.

The content that is actively consumed in popular culture today is definitely the 'Zombie Narrative'. 'Zombie' is soon positioned as a unique character that reveals the times in which we live in conjunction with the uniqueness of Korean society. Zombies, however, are rarely narrated in traditional Korean modern novels though science-fiction novels constructively deal with them. This paper focuses on the existence of 'zombie', which seldom appears in modern novels. The paper also aims to illuminate the literary value of the 'zombie narrative' that is explosively consumed in modern society. In the main part, I talk about the horrors of 'ignorance' appearing in the existence of zombies in relation to those of the problem concerning "unknown". As one of the crucial characteristics of the zombies, moreover, the "absence" of the "thinking" was considered in terms of "ignorance" in relation to the concept of "Banality of evil" raised by Hannah Arendt. This paper also pays attention to the possibility of a new solidarity between zombies and humans depicted in novels. This possibility can be seen as a search for solidarity between humans and zombies, beyond the solidarity between humans who survived from zombies. The paper enlightens a new relationship between a captor and a captive that dichotomous scale impossibly explains and presents a possible new story. As discussed above, as this study searches for the existence of 'zombies' that seldom appear in contemporary Korean novels, it clearly signifies the literary value of 'zombies' and further possible narratives concerning 'zombies'. Furthermore, this study appreciates the extension of the existing 'zombie narrative' researches, which has been mainly focused on films.

My paper aims to discuss the possibility of training Korean Studies professionals in Eastern Europe. This paper has two aspects. One was discussed in three aspects about the role of Korean Studies experts in the local area. In addition, discussions were held in various aspects, focusing on the possibility of fostering Korean Studies scholars in Eastern Europe, with a focus on the Babes-Bolyai University in Romania, Eőtvős Lorand University in Romania, and Sofia St. Kliment Ohridski University in Bulgaria. For this study, concretely compared situation of lectures, students, professors in Korean Studies managed by these Universities. After addressing them in depth, suggested realistic improvements of problems which these Universities have in common. Especially in order to complement insufficient lectures of Korean Studies in these Universities, using the CEEPUS(Central European Exchange Programme for University Studies) actively which is operated by some of Universities in Eastern Europe is one of good methods and more need to expand the CEEPUS for developing Korean Studies in this area. And for developing teaching materials of Korean Studies suitable for local situation, local experts in Korean Studies and experts related fields in Korea need to highly cooperate with each other. As a final suggestion, for maintaining and developing the major of Korean Studies in Universities of Eastern Europe is very important in order to cultivate Korean Studies professionals in Eastern Europe.

It has been known that deconstruction has affected various fields as literature, architecture, an, film, industrial design, and so on. Especially, deconstruction has applied into a wide scope of the design related fields through diverse ways and the results also show that there is a great potentiality in the ways of it's expression with different styles. Deconstruction design has been approached in connection with post-modernism, deconstruction theory of J. Derrida and pluralistic post industrial society. In particular, it is obvious that deconstruction philosophy has deeply affected the fields of visual design and typography which are mostly communicated with symbols and texts. This study intends to examine how the deconstruction theory has been practically applied into the typography by analyzing the change of deconstruction typographic styles and exploring the distinctiveness of the change.

This study attempted to analyse the collections of public libraries in terms of their subject distribution and currency. It was expected that the analysis would give public librarians some suggestions as to their collection development policy making. This study team selected 423 Korean public libraries across the country and scrutinized the collections by their classes of Korean Decimal Classification(KDC) and publishing years. The study results indicated that there was some subject disproportion in public library collections. Literature and social sciences were accounting for 54.8% of whole collections. Currency of collections of public libraries could be said relatively excellent. It was found that 64.9% of whole collections had been published after 2000.

This study reviewed the idea of mercantilism and commercial war which developed around "newly rising class" like translators, diplomats and compradors of late Qing Dynasty, by which new recognition of social classes was demanded. In particular, this study newly identified the meaning of commercial war and new social order of last Qing dynasty, by attempting an analysis based on the context and aspect in the process of globalization of industrial capitalism conducted under the influence of the first industrial revolution from the U.K. Therefore, in the history of modern Chinese intelligence, the theory of mercantilism and commercial war can not be limited to the transitional thinking system of "Yang-Wu(洋務)" and "Bian-Fa(變法)".
