The study was descriptive survey research for establishment of patient safety culture in small and medium-sized hospitals as providing baseline data of educational program regarding safe medication and prevention of near miss on medication, checking influencing factors of nurses near miss experience on medication in small and medium-sized hospital. The collected data was analyzed by SPSS/WIN 20.0 program to obtain mean, frequency, x2-test, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, logistic regression. The influencing factors of near miss experience on medication was working department and patient safety culture among general characteristic. The nurses who were working in general ward had lesser chance to experience near miss rather than nurses working in special department (Odds ratio:2.23, 95%, Confidence Interval: 1.07~4.67, p=.032). The 1 point higher in patient safety culture, the lesser chance to experience in near miss (Odds ratio: 2.24, 95% Confidence Interval: 1.02~4.95, p=.045). To sum up the result of this study, nurses working in special department had higher chance to experience near miss rather than nurses working in general wards. The higher patient safety culture awareness was the lower near miss was experienced. Thus, miss surveillance system for improvement of nurses' patient safety culture awareness should be developed. Moreover, educational program for medication considering nurses' career and department' character should be requested with simulation training considering and theory education.

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of life stress, depression, and smart-phone addiction on quality of life as well as to verify the variables related to quality of life and the factors contributing to quality of life among undergraduate students. The data were collected from 194 subjects at K university in G city using a self-administered questionnaire. T-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression were used to analyze the data. As a result, mean scores of life stress, depression, smart-phone addiction, and quality of life were $62{\pm}.33$, $24{\pm}.3$, $2.59{\pm}.63$, and $3.48{\pm}.54$, respectively. There was a negative correlation between life stress, depression, smart-phone addiction, and quality of life. The factors influencing quality of life were life stress, depression, and smart-phone addiction. Based on these findings, it is necessary to improve quality of life and multidisciplinary interventions in order to reduce life stress, depression, and smart-phone addiction in undergraduate students. These findings contribute to the development of a program to improve quality of life among undergraduate students.

This study was a descriptive study to investigate the effects of nursing students' consciousness of biomedical ethics, good death recognition, and self-esteem on attitudes toward withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment. The subjects of this study were 204 nursing students attending university. The data were collected from October 24 to October 31, 2017 and analyzed using the SPSS Win. 22.0 program. Attitudes toward withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment scored $2.97{\pm}0.29$ out of 4, $3.01{\pm}0.31$ for biomedical ethics, $3.24{\pm}0.38$ for good death recognition and $3.23{\pm}0.41$ for self-esteem. There was a significant positive correlation between attitudes toward withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment and good death recognition, and there was a significant positive correlation between attitudes toward withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment and self-esteem. As a result of multiple regression analysis, it was found that good death perception affected nursing students' attitudes toward the withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment. In other words, elevated perception of good death was associated with more positives attitudes toward withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment. Based on the above results, it is necessary to develop a systematic education program for nursing college students. In addition, this researcher proposes an in-depth study to explore the variables that influence nursing students' attitudes toward withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment.

This study was conducted to investigate the relationship among clinical nurses' emotional labor, health promoting behaviors and premenstrual syndrome (PMS), as well as to clarify factors that affect nurses' PMS. This was a descriptive study of 195 clinical nurses working in one university hospital and two general hospitals in the C region. Data collection was conducted from Jul 3 until Jul 21, 2017. T-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression were used for analysis. The mean score of emotional labor was $3.35{\pm}0.63$ out of 5, that of health promoting behavior was $2.08{\pm}0.40$ out of 4 and that of PMS was $2.94{\pm}1.09$ out of 6. Premenstrual syndrome was significantly positively correlated with emotional labor (r=0.292, p<0.001) and interpersonal relationships in health promotion behavior (r=0.208, p=0.004). Factors influencing PMS were interpersonal relationships (${\beta}=0.54$, p=0.001), emotional labor (${\beta}=0.40$, p=0.001) and degree of menstrual pain (${\beta}=0.14$, p<0.001), which explained 30.0% of PMS (F=9.33, p <0.001). The results of this study suggest that intervention strategies may be necessary to decrease PMS by reducing menstrual pain, emotional labor and interpersonal relationship stress.

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of experiential avoidance on the relationships between life stress, depression and smartphone addiction in nursing college students. This study was conducted using a descriptive survey design. Participants were 283 nursing college students attending freshmen and sophomore yearsat one university in Jeollanam-do. Data were collected from September 1 to 15, 2015 using self-report questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient, hierarchical regression and Sobel test with SPSS 21.0. There were significant positive correlations between life stress, depression, smartphone addiction and experiential avoidance. Experiential avoidance partially mediated the relationship between life stress and depression of nursing students. Additionally, experiential avoidance partially mediated the relationship between their life stress and smartphone addiction. The results show that experiential avoidance plays a key role in psychopathology and grows with depression and smartphone addiction. Based on the present findings, nursing interventions should be developed to decrease experiential avoidance, with additional consideration towards the relationship between life stress and experiential avoidance, in order to prevent depression and smartphone addiction among nursing college students.

This study was conducted to investigate the factors affecting depression in elementary school teachers. The research design was a descriptive study. Methods:Data were collected by questionnaires from 283 elementary school teachers. Data were analyzed using a t-test, ANOVA, a $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. Results: The mean scores were 2.44, 3.07 and 3.68 out of 5 on Likert scales for burnout, job stress and ego-resiliency, respectively. The mean scores were 1.47 and 2.95 out of 4 on Likert scales for items of depression and job satisfaction, respectively. Teaching experience and class size affected depression significantly. There was a positive correlation between depression and burnout(r=0.465, p<.001), and between depression and job stress(r =.220, p<.001),while a negative correlation was observed between depression and job satisfaction(r=-.249, p<.001), and depression and ego-resiliency(r=-.643, p<.001). Multiple regression analysis showed that ego-resiliency(${\beta}=0.639$), job satisfaction(${\beta}=.141$), burnout(${\beta}=.094$), and job stress(${\beta}=.067$) affected depression in order and the four research variables led to a 42.7% prediction for depression among elementary school teachers. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, a systematic plan for decreasing job stress and increasing eco-resilience is needed to improve depression among elementary school teachers.

This study was conducted to investigate child's mother and nurse partnership, anxiety, and quality of pediatric nursing care, and to identify factors influencing anxiety and quality of pediatric nursing care of the hospitalized child's mother. A descriptive survey was conducted from September 21 to October 4, 2015. Data were collected using a self-reporting questionnaire of 140 the mothers of a hospitalized child in a general hospital. Completed data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis by IBM SPSS 18.0. The results showed that the frequency of hospitalization, genito-urinary disease, other diseases, and child's mother and nurse partnership significantly influenced anxiety. Additionally, the frequency of hospitalization, genito-urinary disease, other diseases, and child's mother and nurse partnership significantly influenced the quality of pediatric nursing care. Based on these results, child's mother and nurse partnership had a significant predictor of the anxiety and the quality of pediatric nursing care. These finding showed that there was a need to develop educational and supportive strategies to enhance and improve the partnership between hospitalized child's mother and nurse to ensure qualified pediatric nursing care.

The purpose of this study was to examine the anxiety, levels of diabetes-related distress, and post-traumatic growth of parents who have children with type 1 diabetes and determine the correlation between the differences and variables based on the general characteristics and disease-related characteristics. This is a descriptive survey research and data collection was conducted from January 4th-29th of 2016 with an online survey in an internet community for type 1 diabetes. Seventy seven individuals were included in the final analysis. Statistical analysis was carried out with a t-test, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis test, and Pearson correlation coefficient. The study results showed that posttraumatic growth was significantly high (p<.05) under parents with a religion, and that parental anxiety and stress were high with children under 6 years of age (p<.05), with cases of hypoglycemia (p<.05), and with high levels of glycated hemoglobin (p<.05). Anxiety and stress had a positive correlation (r=.684, p<.001), and anxiety and stress exhibited a negative correlation with posttraumatic growth (r=-.401, p<.001; r=-.327, p<.05). This suggests that posttraumatic growth can reduce the negative emotions sufficiently, and that a mediating mechanism is needed that promotes posttraumatic growth while decreasing the level of anxiety and stress.

This study is a descriptive correlation that attempts to determine the mediating effect of self-efficacy on the relationship between university life stress and smartphone overuse. A total of 201 university students attending universities within Jeonbuk were evaluated using self-reported questionnaires from April 10 to May 10, 2017. The demographic characteristics, university life stress, self-efficacy, and smartphone overuse were analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis. The difference in smartphone overuse by demographic characteristics was analyzed by t-tests and ANOVA with Scheffe's post hoc test, and the correlation between variables was evaluated by Pearson's correlation coefficient. The mediating effect of self-efficacy was the 3-step multiple regression statistics of Baron and Kenny, and the statistical significance of the mediating effect was analyzed by the Sobel test. Self-efficacy had a partial mediating effect in the relationship between university life stress and smartphone overuse. In addition, the risk of smartphone overuse increased among university freshmen, with many using smartphones for more than 4 or 6 hours per day. The result of this study are expected to be useful as basic data for the development of a program to prevent excessive smartphone use by university students.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between emotional labor, resilience, and psychological well-being in clinical nurses, and to investigate ways to improve their psychological well-being. Data collection was conducted for nurses working in two general hospitals housing 300 beds in Incheon and Chungcheongnam-do. A total of 187 nurses were interviewed from June 10 to August 20, 2016. Data were analyzed using frequency and percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analysis. In this research, 94.7% of the subjects were female, their mean age was 29.80, 61.5% of them had received associate of nursing degrees, and 70.6% were single. Results of the research showed that emotional labor averaged $3.37{\pm}.50hours$, resilience was $3.29{\pm}.45hours$, and psychological well-being was $3.25{\pm}.47hours$. There was a negative correlation (r=-.165, p<.05) between time spent on emotional labor and psychological well-being, and a positive correlation between time spent on recovery resilience and psychological well-being (r=.686, p<.01). Resilience was a predictor of psychological well-being, explained by a rating of 46.8% (F=164.43, p<.001). Based on the results of this study, developing a program that can improve resilience to improve the psychological well-being of clinical nurses involved in high emotional labor is suggested.
