  • In developing information systems, omissions and redundancies of user requirements are too frequent to increase development cost as they need to be remedied at later stages. In order to cope with this problem, various tools describing business processes have been proposed in the past and yet fewer attempts have been made to systematically and categorically evaluate performance of individual tools describing business processes. In this paper, we offer a general framework for appraising competing tools for describing business processes, including ERD, DFD, and Use Case Diagram in terms of ease of use, completeness, chance of having omissions, and. Based on a exemplary business From the measures proposed in this paper for comparing descriptive tools, ERD turns out to stand out over other often-used methodologies. Despite its problem with poor readability, ERD proves to offer relatively higher expressive power and ease of use. Being supplemented by well-formed job descriptions, ERD would remain a better choice in developing business information systems.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the attitudes towards death and euthanasia among nurses and general population. Methods: The participants were 192 nurses and 255 people. Data were collected using structured questionnaires from March 5 to May 30. 2010 and analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA and Pearson correlation coefficients by using SAS Program 12.0. Results: The attitudes towards death showed significantly higher scores in nurses than general population. The attitudes towards euthanasia showed significantly higher scores in nurses. There were significant positive correlations between attitudes towards death and euthanasia in nurses and. people. Conclusion: The above results indicated that the higher level of cognition towards death, the more positive attitudes towards euthanasia. Besides, nurses treating with terminal illness were higher level of cognition on death and positive attitudes towards euthanasia. Therefore, we should established the strategy and education program to understand on death and euthanasia for people including the health care providers.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between anger expression, social supports, and adjustment to college life among nursing students. A convenience sample of 266 students in two colleges participated in the study. Data were analyzed using t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple stepwise regression. The mean score for adjustment to college life was above average. The mean score for adjustment to college life differed significantly according to students' reasons for applying to college and perceived health status. Adjustment to college life significantly correlated with anger expression and social supports. Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that anger expression (Anger-Out, Anger-In, and Anger-Control), social supports, and perceived health status explained 27.1% of the variance in adjustment to college life. The study findings suggest that interventions intended to promote nursing students' adjustment to college life should focus on improving anger management, social supports, and perceived health status.

  • Recently, the government is very active to secure the financial resources by inducement of the private investment in fulfilling an extension of the SOC facilities. One of the reasons that the private investors hesitate to put money into the private finance projects, however, is the lack of knowledges about various risks to be possibly incurred during the project execution. This research was performed as one of the preparation works in order for a A engineering company to act as a prime contractor of the project management service in the private finance project, and finally developed the risk factor dictionary as a new concept to satisfy the requirement of a A company and overcome a limit of the existing risk checklists. Although the risk factor dictionary looks like the only simplified table to be the risk factors identified in three dimensions, the impacts and response strategies expressed in narrative and multi-items, and the responsible parties indicated, it has great meanings to get a lot of direct and indirect accomplishments over the simplified table during the development process.

  • This is the second year study of ''The Development of Model of National Criterion- Referenced Assessment Standards" that had started in 1997. In the study, national assessment standards for high school common science were developed based on national curriculum. In the whole process of developing the standards, high school teachers, university professors and administrators of the Ministry of Education have participated as the "developing group" or "consulting group". Through various activities such as conference, workshop, intensive work, examination by science education experts, the standards and instruments were developed and modified. The research contents can be itemized as follows: - modifying the achievement standards developed in the first year research based on the opinions of various experts(science teachers, professors of science education, philosophers) - developing assessment standards based on the specially designed system. The standards divide students' achievements into three levels(upper/middle/low) and state each level so that it can guide evaluation of achievement. - developing various types of test instruments to probe students' achievement levels for each assessment standard.

  • A survey method in Korea has being developed rapidly since a survey company was established in 1968. In latest, the CATI, internet survey, Notebook, PDA survey methods are being utilized in accordance with communication development. This article focuses on the practical use and the strength and weakness of the PDA survey solution which employs 'KISS' system designed by KRIVET itself. The survey using PDA has, on the one hand, such strengths as follows : 1) efficient field control, 2) reduction of time for verifying data and generation of proper data 3) shortening survey duration from intial survey to data completion, 4) cutting down survey personnel and cost. On the other hand, survey using PDA has the following weakness: 1) limitation of questionnaire expression, 2) increasing time for survey, 3) communication barrier in some regions.

  • In this paper, we present the Modulator Channel Card and VLSI chip for the Radio Transceiver Unit (RTU) of direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) Wireless Local Loop (WLL) System. The Modulator Channel Card is designed and implemented using ASIC's, FPGA's and DSP's. The ASIC, compliance with Common Air Interface specification proposed by ETRI, has 40K gates which is designed to operate at 32MHz, and is fabricated using $0.6\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS process. The ASIC carries out for I- or Q- phase data channel signal processing at a time, where each data channel processing consists of channel coding, block interleaving, scrambling, Walsh modulation, Pseudo-Noise (PN) spreading, and baseband filtering. The Modulator Channel Card has been integrated as a part of RTU of WLL system and is confirmed that it meets all functional and performance requirements.

  • This study aimed to identify the factors influencing health education performance of health promoting hospital nurses. The study was conducted with 231 nurses from four health promoting hospitals. Data were collected from May to June, 2013. Health education performance was positively correlated with education level, years of clinical experience, health promotion role recognition, and self efficacy for health education. Health promotion role recognition (${\beta}=.246$, p=.001), self-efficacy for health education (${\beta}=.282$, p <.001), and clinical experiences (${\beta}=.170$, p=.007) were significant predictors of health promoting hospital nurses' health education performance and explained 27.8% of the variance. The strategies to improve health promotion role recognition and self-efficacy for health education should be developed to improve health education performance of health promoting hospital nurses.

  • This paper review nursing performance in Korea to suggest the direction of future research. A literature review of research nursing performance journal articles was performed. Thirty-three articles were analyzed research design, measurement tools, definition, and variables which with nursing performance. Most of the on nursing performance in Korea descriptive correlation study. There considerable confusion about Korean term and definitions nursing performance. used the instrument developed by Park (1989) to measure nursing performance. The variables with nursing performance leadership and empowerment. No agreement on definitions or concepts of nursing performance evident in Korea. Research on nursing performance that addresses all domains of nursing is needed to analyze the impact of nursing performance on patient and healthcare outcomes.
