Total gas phase mercury (TGM) concentrations and event wet-only precipitation for Hg were collected for nine months (from April, 2002 to Dec., 2002) at Sterling, NY on the shoreline of Lake Ontario. TGM concentrations measured in this study ($3.02{\pm}2.14\;ng/m^3$) were in somewhat high range compared to other background sites. Using simplified quantitative transport bias analysis (SQTBA) possible sources affecting high Hg concentration in Sterling was identified, and they are coal-fired power plants located in southern NY and Pennsylvania. Wet deposition measured at Mercury Deposition Network (MDN) sites including Pt. Petre and Egbert, ON were compared with data obtained at the Sterling to estimate the total mercury wet deposition flux to Lake Ontario. The wet deposition flux was calculated to be the highest at the Sterling site ($7.94\;{\mu}g/m^2$ from April, 2002 to Dec. 2002) and the lowest at the Egbert ($3.92\;{\mu}g/m^2$), due to the both the difference in precipitation depth and Hg concentration in the precipitation. The deposition measured at the Sterling site is similar to Lake Michigan deposition of $6-14\;{\mu}g/m^2$ (converted for ninth months) measured for Lake Michigan Mass Balance Study (LMMBS).

Background: Self-checked monitoring home exercises are recommended for preventing falls among people with Parkinson's disease. However, as these home exercises are performed autonomously by patients without professional management, their accuracy and efficiency can be compromised. Objective: To investigate the effects of providing regular training sessions to patients and caregivers and of patient self-monitoring of exercise performance following the implementation of a self-checked monitoring exercise program for people with Parkinson's disease. Design: Randomized Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Methods: We provided regular self-checked monitoring home exercise and general home exercise programs to 30 participants for 12 weeks. Once a month at the first, fifth, and ninth-week sessions, a rehabilitation team attended the Parkinson's group education. In addition to the subject in the experimental group perform the home exercises program to provide feedback regarding the home exercises program and to carry out a self-monitoring checklist performance for 12 weeks. Results: The 10 m walk test, functional reach test, and sit to stand test and the modified Barthel index significantly improved in the self-checked monitoring home exercise group. Conclusion: These results suggest that self-checked home exercise programs, which facilitate safety and consistent performance of exercises at home, are beneficial for people with Parkinson's disease.
Object: This study investigated the effect of self-esteem on depression through family relations satisfaction and tested whether working types would moderate such associations. Method: The subjects were 2,145 elderly who are healthy enough to work and were selected for the ninth Korean Welfare Panel Study. The resulting data were analysed by using the statistical program SPSS 2.1 with reference to steps for testing mediation by Baron and Kenny, moderated mediation by Heyes. Results: Self-esteem has both direct and indirect significant effects, revealing that family relations satisfaction fully mediates the effects of coping strategies of family conflict on depression. From the working types, self-employed/employer and unpaid family worker, moderate the indirect effect of self-esteem on depression through family relations satisfaction. Conclusions: In practical intervention of elderly depression reduction, efforts to increase family relations satisfaction is effective when it is difficult to us address satisfaction. Moreover, we have to provide intervention for elderly with work in context of relationship of individual and familial factor.
Project-based learning is an innovative approach to learning that teaches a multitude of strategies critical for success in the twenty-first century. Students drive their own learning through inquiry activity, as well as work collaboratively to research and create projects that reflect their knowledge. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of eco-friendly school project activity which is applied from one of project-based learning approach on learning outcomes of students in ninth-grade environment course in middle school. The participants were given a questionnaire before and after the environmental project activities. In solving the school environment issues themselves, students have practiced invaluable problem solving skills. This study indicates that school students' awareness about the environment has positively changed by experiencing the eco-friendly school project. In addition, this project affects students' variety of environmental awareness. This project could be applied to school environmental education programs and to environment lessons, developmental activities or club activities for a positive impact on students' environmental awareness.

This work deals with the validation of a high-fidelity multiphysics system coupling the Serpent 2 Monte Carlo neutron transport code with SUBCHANFLOW, a subchannel thermalhydraulics code, and TRANSURANUS, a fuel-performance analysis code. The results for a full-core pin-by-pin burnup calculation for the ninth operating cycle of the Temelín II VVER-1000 plant, which starts from a fresh core, are presented and assessed using experimental data. A good agreement is found comparing the critical boron concentration and a set of pin-level neutron flux profiles against measurements. In addition, the calculated axial and radial power distributions match closely the values reported by the core monitoring system. To demonstrate the modeling capabilities of the three-code coupling, pin-level neutronic, thermalhydraulic and thermomechanic results are shown as well. These studies are encompassed in the final phase of the EU Horizon 2020 McSAFE project, during which the Serpent-SUBCHANFLOW-TRANSURANUS system was developed.
The purpose of this study is to compare the books exchange between china and Joseon dynasty. Books, ancient and modern are an essential part to publish, propagate, administer the books which is a matter of grave concern among nations. Also they are the most important information and the symbol of the government power. As a result the rulers had brought many necessary books from China and it is a national policy to govern in Joson dynasty. This study will discuss the introduction of chinese books from the Annals of the Joson Dynasty, especially from the first king of the Joson Dynasty, Yi Seong-gye to the ninth king. At that times, Joson Dynasty had attempted to reign various policies. So many books related with the absolute authority of China. In accordance with the book classification method in ancient china, they are have been categorized. Furthermore, it should have been a important clue to check the influence by being brought many books from China.

The Joseon Tongsinsa Festival has been held annually in May in Busan. It reenacts the procession of the Joseon Tongsinsa that the Joseon Government delegated to Japan four times in the 18th century. In the most important situation during the meandering period, three envoys (Jeongsa, Busa, Jongsagwan) who led the Joseon Tongsinsa, wore Jobok, but at the Joseon Tongsinsa Festival, the three envoys are wearing Jobok, which are not historically accurate. The Jobok called Geumgwan Jobok and were comprised of Yanggwan, Eui, Sang, Jungdan, Peasul, Su, Pumdae, Daedae, Paeok, Hall, Mal, and Hwa. These were ranked from first class to ninth class by personal ornamentation such as Yanggwan, Su, Pumdae, Paeok. So, this study is focused on ascertaining the Jobok of the 18th century for the three envoys who were ranked third grade. This study is based on literature, artifacts, and portraits that can depict the 18th century Jobok including all components. It was based on The 7th Korean Human Body Survey Final Report (2015) in order to produce all components of the Jobok of the modern males in their 50s who are playing the role of the three envoys in the Joseon Tongsinsa Festival.
This study attempted to examine the structural relationship between the main factors that determine the intention to continue participation in yacht activities. Specifically, motivation for yacht activities was divided into achievement motivation, social motivation, escapist motivation, conspicuous motivation, and hedonic motivation, and the effect of each motivation on the satisfaction and continuous intention of yacht activities was examined. This study surveyed 338 ordinary people who were interested in yacht activities or had experience in yacht activities, and verified the main hypothesis through regression analysis. The main analysis results of this study are as follows. First, it was found that achievement motivation did not affect satisfaction. Second, it was found that social motivation had a positive (+) effect on satisfaction. Third, it was found that escapist motivation had a positive (+) effect on satisfaction. Fourth, it was found that the conspicuous motivation had a positive (+) effect on satisfaction. Fifth, it was found that hedonic motivation had a positive (+) effect on satisfaction. Sixth, it was found that the achievement motivation had a positive (+) effect on continuous intention. Seventh, it was found that social motivation did not affect continuous intention. Eighth, it was found that escapist motivation had a positive (+) effect on continuous intention. Ninth, it was found that the conspicuous motivation did not affect continuous intention. Tenth, it was found that the hedonic motivation had a positive (+) effect on continuous intention. Eleven, satisfaction was found to have a positive (+) effect on continuous intention. This study derived academic and practical implications based on the analysis results and proposed future research directions.
Purpose: The recent increase in electric scooter (e-scooter) use has been accompanied by an increase in injuries from e-scooter-related accidents. Studies have reported that most such injuries are minor, and physicians may therefore underestimate the severity of such injuries. This study investigated the types and severity of injuries caused by isolated e-scooter accidents (i.e., those that did not involve colliding with other cars or falling from heights). Methods: This prospective observational study was conducted from May to December 2021 at Dankook University Hospital tertiary medical center. The demographic data of patients injured in isolated e-scooter-related accidents were collected. All injuries were categorized by body part. Results: Fifty eligible patients visited our emergency department during the study period. Of these, 76% were categorized as nonemergency, and 62% were discharged after initial evaluation and treatment at the emergency department. Another 10% were admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) and 18% to the ward, with nine patients receiving at least one operation. The average hospital stays were 2.4 days in the ICU and 9 days in the ward. One death occurred due to traumatic brain injury (overall mortality rate, 2%). Multiple fractures of the left third through ninth ribs combined with lung laceration and fractures of T12 and L4 were noted. Conclusions: Various types and severities of injuries can occur in isolated e-scooter accidents. While most such injuries are minor, some will require ICU admission or surgery, and deaths can occur. Physicians should not underestimate the severity of such injuries.
The study aims to analyze the geometric characteristics of the pointed arches proposed by Al-Kāshī in his book "Miftāḥ al-Ḥisāb" (Key of Arithmetic) and investigate their planning principles, architectural application, and typological characteristics. Al-Kāshī completed this significant work in 1427 and dedicated it to Ulugh Beg, a Timurid Sultan in Samarkand. In the ninth chapter, titled "Al-'Imārāt wa al-Abnīya" (Amīr's Mansion and Building), Al-Kāshī sought to measure the surface areas and volumes of barrel vaults (Azaj) and domes (Qubba). To achieve this, he proposed five kinds of pointed arches (Ṭāq) and analyzed their drawing methods and composition principles. The Īwān and Qubba structures, which are curved architectural elements, hold significant importance in Islamic architecture. However, previous research has predominantly focused on comparing the drawings in Al-Kāshī's book with historical buildings, neglecting the inherent characteristics of the drawings themselves. This study intends to contribute to a deeper understanding of Al-Kāshī's remarkable work and shed light on the geometric aspects of monumental structures in the Timurid Period.
