The oriental beetle, Exomala orientalis, Is the most important insect pest of turfgrass in Korean golf courses. The study was carried out to get practical information on the sampling of E. orientalis in golf courses. Real numbers of E. orientalis larvae were compared with and observed numbers depending on sampling size (5$\times$5 cm, l0$\times$10 cm, 20$\times$20 cm, 30$\times$30 cm, and 40$\times$40 cm) and times (3 to 15 replicates) in Dongrae Benest Golf Club. Over 95% accuracy was obtained between real data and estimated data at the density of over 303 larvae/m$^2$ when the 20$\times$20 cm was sampled with 4 replications. Larval density of E. orientalis was different depending on year and course sites (tee, fairway, rough, green).

This study contains the static buckling tests and static buckling analyses for small size grids and full size grids. The buckling tests and finite element analyses were performed to evaluate the buckling characteristics of the spacer grids in a pressurized water reactor fuel assembly and to evaluate the possibility of the prediction lot the buckling strength of spacer grids. The buckling tests were performed for small size grids and full size grids, and the correlations between buckling strength and the number of straps and the correlations between buckling strength and the number of rows are derived based on the test results. The static buckling analyses were performed to identify the effect of the number of rows and the number of columns on the buckling strength of spacer grid by a finite element method using ANSYS program and the results were compared with the buckling test results.

Ten multivoltine female parental lines were crossed with popular bivoltine male silkworm breed NB$_4$D$_2$. Three types of heterosis parameters viz., heterosis over mid-parental value (hybrid vigour), heterobeltiosis (useful heterosis) and standard heterosis (standard check) were estimated for 15 economically important quantitative traits. The interaction among the hybrids and parents indicated significant effect for maximum characters. The heterotic effect of new hybrid combination was compared with popular hybrids viz., Pure Mysore${\times}$NB$_4$D$_2$ and Nistari${\times}$NB$_4$D$_2$. Varied heterotic effect was observed for different traits for different hybrid combination. The results inferred that the crosses viz., BL$_{23}$${\times}$NB$_4$D$_2$ ranked top for 14 traits followed by Hosa Mysore${\times}$NB$_4$D$_2$ for 11 traits; PA$_{12}$${\times}$NB$_4$D$_2$ for 9 traits; BL$_{24}$${\times}$NB$_4$D$_2$ for 8 traits; Kolar Gold${\times}$NB$_4$D$_2$ for 7 traits; WAI$_1$${\times}$NB$_4$D$_2$ for 6 traits and MU$_{11}$${\times}$NB$_4$D$_2$ for 5 traits. Among these, the best hybrids Kolar Gold${\times}$NB$_4$D$_2$ and MU$_{11}$${\times}$NB$_4$D$_2$ were identified for longer filament length and fine denier. Similarly for higher cocoon yield and silk productivity BL$_{223}$${\times}$NB$_4$D$_2$ and BL$_{24}$${\times}$NB$_4$D$_2$ were found to be superior. These hybrid combinations are suitable for commercial exploitation at large scale.e.e.e.

In this paper, we significantly reduces the amount of computation for intra 16$\times$16 mode decision in H.264 by applying the fast algorithm, which obtains the transformed prediction residual with fewer computations. By extending the existing intra 4$\times$4 mode decision, we propose the new algorithm for fast intra 16$\times$16 mode decision. The proposed algorithm uses partial transform coefficients which consist of one DC and three adjacent AC coefficients after 4$\times$4 transform in the intra 16$\times$16 mode decision. Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce computations up to 50% in the intra 16$\times$16 mode decision process with unnoticeable degradation.

This paper is studied new block mode decision algorithm for H.264/AVC. The fast block mode decision algorithm is consist of block range decision algorithm. The block range decision algorithm classifies the block over 8$\times$8 size or below for 16${\times}$16 macroblock to decide the size and type of sub blocks. As the sub blocks of 8$\times$8, 8r4, 4$\times$8 and 4$\times$4, which are the blocks below 8$\times$8 size, include important motion information, the exact sub block decision is required. RDC(RDO cost) is used as the matching parameter for the exact sub block decision. RDC is calculated with motion strength which is the mean value of neighbor pixels of each sub block. The sub block range decision reduces encoding arithmetic amount by 34.62% on the average more than the case not using block range decision. The block mode decision using motion strength shows improvement of PSNR of 0.05[dB].
This study aims to investigate and analyze the plan and structural system of 4 kan(間) by 4 kan(間) square church built in early 20th century. At that time, three kinds of traditional wooden structure church had been built under the circumstances of transitional era : Basilica style such as Ganghwa Anglican Church, 'ㄱ' shaped style such as Keumsan Church and $4{\times}4$ Square style such as Bukok Church and Jacheon Church that are concerned in this study. Traditional plans and structural system were mixed with new religious function and transformed into korean peculiar style. $4{\times}4$ Square style is a residual product in that process. Despite of it, little concerns on it till now. The results of this study are described as follows. 1. The plan of these $4{\times}4$ square churches is divided into three areas : cathedra($1{\times}1$), attendance($4{\times}2$), and intermediation($4{\times}2$). The location of cathedra is commonly the opposition part of main gate and projected out of the building. Attendance area was also divided into two, man and woman, because of keeping a distance with each other. 2. The structural system of these $4{\times}4$ square churches are somewhat different because of their size and roof style. In the case of Bukok church, $4{\times}4$ square fall off $3{\times}3$ and $2{\times}2$ gradually and turn into paljak(八作) roof, which enable us to get in traditional entering methods. On the contrary, Jacheon church use hipped roof but almost alike pyramidal roof, which could make us not to recognize entering in the aspect of gable part.
This study examined the document Shaemirok, which recorded the daily lives of people from Jangsoo (長水), Junrado to Pyeongang (平康), Gangwondo, from 1591 to 1601. This book represents the mid Josun dynasty Noble Lineage's diary together with Muk-Jae (默齋日記). This study analyzed the Shaemirok of Noble lineage's seasonal food and traditional Korean food through the lens of the Shaemirok. The Shaemirok recorded that Josun people practiced the Julsa (節祀) and Julshik (節食) during the spring, as follows: Sakil (中和節) five times on February 1, Dapchungil (Samjiknal) six times on March 3, Hanshikil five times on March 8, and Deungsuk (Chopile) three times on April 8. Samjiknal on March 3, which is mentioned six times, is the spring Julsa and Julshik that show up most frequently within the Shaemirok's records. The Shaemirok recorded that Josun people, practiced the Julsa and Julshik during the summer, as follows: Danyang (Danoh) eight times on May 5 Youdoojul six times on June 15, Chilsuk five times on July 7, and Bakjoong five times on July 15. Dangohjul on May 5, which is mentioned eight times, is the summer Julsa and Julshik that show up most frequently within the Shaemirok's records. The Shaemirok's author recorded Julsa and Julshik practiced in the autumn eight times annually. Joongangjul, which is mentioned six times, is the autumn Julsa and Julshik that show up most frequently within the Shaemirok's records. Shaemirok recorded that Josun people practiced the Julsa and Julshik during the winter, as follows: Dongji during November, Sul on January 1, and Daebohrum on January 15 Dongji and Sul, Daebohrum are mentioned eight and seven times, respectively, in the Shaemirok. The people of the Four Main Families of the mid-period Josun practiced more Julsa and Julshik in the winter than in any other season. The Josun people stored the most food during winter, thus had the highest abundance of food. This seasonal factor explains Dongji and Sul, Daebohrum's unusual frequency with which they were celebrated.
The purported four hybrid origins of Asplenium in Korea were tested based on morphological, cytological and DNA sequence data. Asplenium castaneo-viride, A. ${\times}$ uiryeongse, A. ${\times}$ montanus, and A. ${\times}$ kitazawae share several morphological characteristics with the Asian walking fern A. ruprechtii and related taxa as parents and show a sympatric distribution with the putative parents, raising the possibility of hybrid origins: A. castaneo-viride (A. ruprechtii and A. incisum), A. ${\times}$ uiryeongse (A. ruprechtii and A. pekinense), A. ${\times}$ montanus (A. ruprechtii, A. trichomanes, and A. incisum), and A. ${\times}$ kitazawae (A. ruprechtii and A. sarelii). We investigated flow cytometry and chloroplast DNA sequence data (rbcL, rps4-trnS, and rps4-trnS intergenic spacer) to clarify the hybridization and origin of each hybrid. In the flow cytometry analyses, A. ruprechtii shows diploid (2x) only, whereas A. castaneo-viride (3x, 4x), A. ${\times}$ uiryeongse (3x), A. ${\times}$ montanus (3x, 4x), and A. ${\times}$ kitazawae (2x, 4x) exhibit polyploidy, suggesting hybrid events along speciation. The rbcL and rps4-trnS and rps4-trnS intergenic spacer data suggest that A. ruprechtii is one the maternal ancestors of all four hybrids. In addition, the rps4-trnS and rps4-trnS intergenic spacer data indicate that A. incisum is also the maternal ancestor of A. ${\times}$ kitazawae and A. ${\times}$ montanus, proposing multiple hybridization events for these two hybrids. In A. ${\times}$ montanus, morphological features such as the leaf forms and sympatric distributions of the species also support the multimaternal hypothesis, but the morphological features of A. ${\times}$ kitazawae must be examined with consideration of hybrid events. To clarify the complex hybrid evolutionary lineages of the four Asplenium hybrids, further research with taxon sampling and molecular markers should be conducted.
Background: Integrated management of general, mental, and oral health is necessary to improve an individual's quality of life. This study aimed to identify the effects of mental and oral health behaviors on metabolic syndrome. Methods: A total of 4,227 Korean adults aged 20 years or older were selected as study subjects using raw data from the first year (2019) of the 8th period of the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES). A complex sample chi-square test and a complex sample logistic regression analysis were performed using the PASW Statistics ver. 18.0 program. Results: The effect on metabolic syndrome was significantly higher in male than in 1.833 times in male, 2.914 times in 30~49 years old, and 3.855 times in 50~64 years old, and 3.929 times in people over 65 years old compared to 20~29 years old, and compared to those with a college degree or higher, those with a middle school degree or lower are 2.116 times, those with lower income levels are 1.507 times higher, those with middle-lower are 1.359 times higher, those with middle-high are 1.401 times. Compared to non-smokers, smokers were 1.570 times higher than non-smokers and compared to those without speech problem and chewing difficulty, they were 1.717 times and 1.397 times higher, respectively and 1.973 times higher in those with 0~1 brushing times per day. Mental health did not affect prevalence of metabolic syndrome. Conclusion: It is necessary to improve maintain a healthy lifestyle to lower the risk of metabolic syndrome. It is necessary to establish effective dental hygiene customized education and an efficient health management system at the national level that can induce improvement of oral health behavior for the prevention and management of metabolic syndrome.
