Vertical handoff is the process of maintaining a mobile user's active connections in the heterogeneous network. In vertical handoff, many frames can be lost since the connection between a server and a client is broken off during handoff latency. To solve this problem, in this paper, we propose an effective video streaming method for video on demand (VOD) services that provides seamless playout at the client in vertical handoff. Performance evaluations are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Most people with visual impairments can not use both hands freely because they carry a cane. And unnecessary contact with people around you during walking can occur. Other guides include guide dogs, but the price and maintenance cost are expensive and difficult to manage. In this paper, we propose a smart glove, which prevents unnecessary contact when blind people use the cane, detects the obstacle ahead by using the ultrasonic sensor, and informs the presence of the obstacle by using the servo motor. In addition, the electrostatic proximity touch module on the fingers executes a specific application of the smart phone connected by Bluetooth when the finger touches each other. It is designed to allow you to use text or phone calls when you are lost or in an emergency. The results of this study will be used as a tool to provide a more convenient life for the visually impaired.

A new modular Lateral Information Propagation Networks(LIPN) has been designed. The LIPN has shown to be useful for reconstruction of information[3]. The problem is the fact that only the small number of nodes can be implemented in a IC chip with the circuit VLSI technology. The proposed modular architecture is propagated the neural network through inter module connections. For such inter module connections, the host (computer or logic) mediates the exchange of information among modules. Also border nodes in each module have capacitors for temporarily retaining the information from outer modules. The LIPN with $4{\times}4$ modules has been designed and simulation of interpolation with the designed LIPN has been done.

The disinfection effects of Trichloro isocyanuric acid (TICA) and Calcium hypochlorite (Cal-hypo) against E. coli' in aqueous suspension were compared at various concentrations of disinfectants as well as exposure times. When E, coil($^{\sim}10^7$ CFU/ml) were exposed by TICA and Cal-hypo (12 ppm each), 90% of the initial cells were reduced in 4 sec and 390 sec, respectively. Although Cal-hypo lost its disinfection capability in about 1 hr under the sun light, TICA maintained its effect up to 6 hrs. This comparative studies clearly demonstrate that TICA is more effective than Cal-hypo in terms of sterilizing E. coli as well as maintaining the disinfection effects.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is understanding of Rett Syndrome. Rett Syndrome is a common developmental - neurologic disorder that has been reported almost exclusively in female. Recently mutations in the gene encoding X-linked methyl-CpG binding protein 2 (MECP2) have been identified as the cause of Rett syndrome. Consistent with the diagnostic criteria, hand skills, verbal or non - verbal communication skills and common motor skills were lost during regression. Regression most commonly occurred between 12 and 18 months of age. Methods : This is a literature study with books, articles, web site for Rett syndrome international association. Results : There is a continuing need to further elucidate the pre- and post - regression features of Rett syndrome. Rett syndrome need to physical therapy, musical therapy, special education and medical interventions. Conclusion : There has not been therapeutic method to the root of Rett syndrome but our goal is relaxation of symptom and physical therapist's study of Rett syndrome.

영화에서의 음악의 역할은 중요하다. 영화에서의 내러티브를 전개, 암시해주며, 관객들로 하여금 영화에 더욱 몰입할 수 있도록 감성을 유도한다. 영화음악을 작곡하는데 있어서 선율, 박자, 화성의 연관성을 중요하게 생각하기도 하지만, 특히 서스펜스, 미스테리 스릴러에서의 긴장감을 위한 영화음악은 테레민 악기만이 가지고 있는 고유의 음색으로 음악적 연출이 가능하다.

Purpose: Recently, Jiang defines the tradeoff B life to minimize a sum of life lost by preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) contribution parts and sets up an optimal replacement age of age replacement policy as this tradeoff life. In this paper, Jiang's model only considering the known lifetime distribution is extended by assigning different weights to two parts of PM and CM in order to reflect the practical maintenance situations in application. Methods: The new age replacement model is formulated and the meaning of a weight factor is expressed with the implied cost of failure under asymptotic expected cost model and also discussed with one-cycle expected cost criterion. Results: The proposed model is applied to Weibull and lognormal lifetime distributions and optimum PM replacement ages are derived with corresponding implied cost of failure. Conclusion: The new age replacement policy to escape the estimation of cost of failure in classical asymptotic expected cost criterion based on the renewal process is provided.

최근 폭탄테러 등에 의한 건축구조물의 피해 및 2차적인 인적 물적 피해가 증가하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 고속 비상체의 충격시험에 의한 섬유보강콘크리트의 내충격 성능평가를 실시하여 내충격 성능의 향상을 위한 기초자료를 제시하는데 목적을 두고 있다.

This study examined the changes in the chemical components and antioxidant activity of Ecklonia cava according to the drying methods. As chemical components, the concentrations of minerals(K, Ca, Na, Mg, Fe, Cu, Mn and Zn), vitamins(vitamin C, ${\beta}$-carotene and ${\alpha}$-tocopherol) and the total polyphenols were analyzed. In additions, the antioxidant activity was determined by measuring the free radical(DPPH radical, superoxide anion radical, hydroxyl radical and hydrogen peroxide) scavenging activity and the linoleic acid peroxidation inhibitory activity. The mineral content was not affected by the drying methods. However, more vitamins were lost and the total polyphenol concentration was reduced as a result of sun-drying than by the other drying methods used. More of the total polyphenol was preserved by freezing-drying than by any of the other drying methods, which meant that there was a higher antioxidant activity after freeze drying.

To solve the problem of transmission errors in stereoscopic images, this paper proposes a novel error concealment (EC) method using superpixel segmentation and adaptive disparity selection (SSADS). Our algorithm consists of two steps. The first step is disparity estimation for each pixel in a reference image. In this step, the numbers of superpixel segmentation labels of stereoscopic images are used as a new constraint for disparity matching to reduce the effect of mismatching. The second step is disparity selection for a lost block. In this step, a strategy based on boundary smoothness is proposed to adaptively select the optimal disparity which is used for error concealment. Experimental results demonstrate that compared with other methods, the proposed method has significant advantages in both objective and subjective quality assessment.
