  • In authors' paper in 2007, it was shown that the BSE-extension of $C^1_0(R)$, the algebra of continuously differentiable functions f on the real number space R such that f and df /dx vanish at infinity, is the Lipschitz algebra $Lip_1(R)$. This paper extends this result to the case of $C^n_0(R^d)$ and $C^{n-1,1}_b(R^d)$, where n and d represent arbitrary natural numbers. Here $C^n_0(R^d)$ is the space of all n-times continuously differentiable functions f on $R^d$ whose k-times derivatives are vanishing at infinity for k = 0, ${\cdots}$, n, and $C^{n-1,1}_b(R^d)$ is the space of all (n - 1)-times continuously differentiable functions on $R^d$ whose k-times derivatives are bounded for k = 0, ${\cdots}$, n - 1, and (n - 1)-times derivatives are Lipschitz. As a byproduct of our investigation we obtain an important result that $C^{n-1,1}_b(R^d)$ has a predual.

  • The performances of refrigeration truck systems using R404A and R134a were investigated by experimental testing, and compared. The optimal COPs of the R404A and R134a systems were 2.96 and 3.42, when the refrigerant charge amount was 1.3 kg and 1.4 kg, respectively. When the indoor side air temperature increased from $5^{\circ}C$ to $9^{\circ}C$, the total exergy destruction rate of the R404A system was on average 39.1% higher than that of the R134a system. In addition, the exergy efficiency of the R404A system was 12.9% higher than that of R134a system, for various indoor air temperatures. When the outdoor side air temperature increased from $25^{\circ}C$ to $35^{\circ}C$, the total exergy destruction rate of the R404A and R134a systems decreased by 18.9% and 19.5%, respectively. In addition, the exergy efficiency of the R404A and R134a systems increased by 25.2% and 30.7%, respectively. As the compressor rotating speed increased, the COP of the R404A and R134a systems decreased by 23.6% and 18.4%. The total exergy destruction rate and exergy efficiency of the R404A system were 27.2% and 15.7% higher than those of R134a system, respectively. Compared to the R404A system, the R134a system showed a higher COP and a lower exergy destruction rate; thus it can be concluded that the R134a system has the better performance.

  • Cobalt(III) complexes with sexidentate ligands, N,N,N',N'-tetrakis(2-amino-ethyl)-1,2-ethanediamine (ten), -1,3-propanediamine (ttn), -1,4-butanediamine (ttmd), -(R,R)-and -(R,S)-2,4-pentanediamine (tptn) were prepared, and the characterization of d-d absorption band on the variation of chelate ring size and conformation of these complexes were studied by means of electronic spectra. The first d-d absorption bands of $[Co(L)]^{3+}$ complexes are shifted to smaller wave numbers in the order. ttn > (R,R)-tptn > ten > ttmd${\simeq}$(R,S)-tptn for (L). The UV, $^{13}C$ NMR, and Circular Dichroism studies indicate that the R,S-tptn ligand of $[Co(R,S-tptn)]^{3+}$ complex coodinates to cobalt(Ⅲ) ion as a sexidentate with one methyl group in axial position.

  • R134a is considered as an alternative refrigerant to R22 for air conditioners. An experimental investigation was made to study the characteristics of the heat transfer and pressure drop for R134a flowing in a fin-and-tube heat exchanger used for commercial air-conditioning units. Experiments were carried out under the conditions of inlet refrigerant temperature of $60^{\circ}C$ and refrigerant mass fluxes of $150,\;200,\;and\;250\;kg/m^{2}s$. The inlet air has dry bulb temperature or $35^{\circ}C$, relative humidity of 40% and air velocity varying from 0.68 to 1.6 m/s. Experiments show that air velocity decreased by 5.9% is needed for R134a than that of R22 while pressure drop for R134a was $18.1{\sim}20.4%$ higher than that of R22 for the degree of subcooling $5^{\circ}C$. The results are useful in designing more compact and effective condensers for various refrigeration and air conditioning systems using refrigerant R134a.

  • An atomic integral domain R is a half-factorial domain (HFD) if whenever $\chi_1$$\chi_{m}=y_1$$y_n$ with each $\chi_{i},y_j \in R$ irreducible, then m = n. In this paper, we show that if R[X] is an HFD, then $Cl_{t}(R)$ $\cong$ $Cl_{t}$(R[X]), and if $G_1$ and $G_2$ are torsion abelian groups, then there exists a Dedekind HFD R such that Cl(R) = $G_1\bigoplus\; G_2$.

  • Let (R, m) be a Noetherian local ring, I an ideal of R, and A an Artinian R-module. Let $k{\geq}0$ be an integer and $r=Width_{>k}(I,A)$ the supremum of length of A-cosequence in dimension > k in I defined by Nhan-Hoang [8]. It is shown that for all $t{\leq}r$ the sets $$(\bigcup_{i=0}^{t}Att_R(Tor_i^R(R/I^n,A)))_{{\geq}k}\;and\\(\bigcup_{i=0}^{t}Att_R(Tor_i^R(R/(a_1^{n_1},{\cdots},a_l^{n_l}),A)))_{{\geq}k}$$ are independent of the choice of $n,n_1,{\cdots},n_l$ for any system of generators ($a_1,{\cdots},a_l$) of I.

  • Let R be a Krull ring with the unique regular maximal ideal M. We show that R has a regular prime element and reg-$dimR=1{\Leftrightarrow}R$ is a factorial ring and reg-$dim(R)=1{\Rightarrow}M$ is invertible ${\Leftrightarrow}R{\varsubsetneq}[R:M]{\Leftrightarrow}M$ is divisorial ${\Leftrightarrow}$ reg-$htM=1{\Rightarrow}R$ is a rank one discrete valuation ring. We also show that if M is generated by regular elements, then R is a rank one discrete valuation ring ${\Rightarrow}$ R is a factorial ring and reg-dim(R)=1.

  • Let (R, m) be a Noetherian local ring, I, J two ideals of R, and A an Artinian R-module. Let $k{\geq}0$ be an integer and $r=Width_{>k}(I,A)$ the supremum of lengths of A-cosequences in dimension > k in I defined by Nhan-Hoang [9]. It is first shown that for each $t{\leq}r$ and each sequence $x_1,{\cdots},x_t$ which is an A-cosequence in dimension > k, the set $$\Large(\bigcup^{t}_{i=0}Att_R(0:_A(x_1^{n_1},{\ldots},x_i^{n_i})))_{{\geq}k}$$ is independent of the choice of $n_1,{\ldots},n_t$. Let r be the eventual value of $Width_{>k}(0:_AJ^n)$. Then our second result says that for each $t{\leq}r$ the set $\large(\bigcup\limits_{i=0}^{t}Att_R(Tor_i^R(R/I,\;(0:_AJ^n))))_{{\geq}k}$ is stable for large n.

  • 2,2'-Diaminobiphenyl platinum (II) complexes of optically active trans-1,2-diaminocyclohexane and 1,2-diaminopropane, [Pt(S,S-chxn)(dabp)]Cl2, [Pt(R,R-chxn)(dabp)]$C_{12}$, [Pt(S-pn)(dabp)]$C_{l2}$, and [Pt(R-pn)(dabp)]Cl2, where S,S-chxn and R,R-chxn are, respectively, S and R isomers of trans-1,2-diaminocyclohexane, and S-pn and R-pn are, respectively, S and R isomers of 1,2-diaminopropane, and dabp the 2,2'-diaminobipheny, have been prepared. The dabp ligand has been found to take the $=delta$ conformation in the S,S-chxn and S-pn platinum (II) complexes, while it takes the $\lambda$ conformation in the R,R-chxn and R-pn platinum (II) complexes.

  • Jat and Choudhari defined a near-ring R with left bipotent or right bipotent condition in 1979. Also, we can dene a near-ring R as subcommutative if aR = Ra for all a in R. From these above two concepts it is natural to investigate the near-ring R with the properties aR = $Ra^2$ (resp. $a^2R$ = Ra) for each a in R. We will say that such is a near-ring with (1,2)-potent condition (resp. a near-ring with (2,1)-potent condition). Thus, we can extend a general concept of a near-ring R with (m,n)-potent condition, that is, $a^mR\;=\;Ra^n$ for each a in R, where m, n are positive integers. We will derive properties of near-ring with (1,n) and (n,1)-potent conditions where n is a positive integer, any homomorphic image of (m,n)-potent near-ring is also (m,n)-potent, and we will obtain some characterization of regular near-rings with (m,n)-potent conditions.
