A CMOS Analog Front End for a WPAN Zero-IF Receiver

  • This paper describes a low-voltage and low-power channel selection analog front end with continuous-time low pass filters and highly linear programmable-gain amplifier(PGA). The filters were realized as balanced Gm-C biquadratic filters to achieve a low current consumption. High linearity and a constant wide bandwidth are achieved by using a new transconductance(Gm) cell. The PGA has a voltage gain varying from 0 to 65dB, while maintaining a constant bandwidth. A filter tuning circuit that requires an accurate time base but no external components is presented. With a 1-Vrms differential input and output, the filter achieves -85dB THD and a 78dB signal-to-noise ratio. Both the filter and PGA were implemented in a 0.18um 1P6M n-well CMOS process. They consume 3.2mW from a 1.8V power supply and occupy an area of $0.19mm^2$.

Effects of Azodicarbonamide on the Rheology of Wheat Flour Dough and the Quality Characteristics of Bread (Azodicarbonamide를 첨가한 밀가루 반죽의 물성 및 냉동저장 중 제빵 특성의 변화)

  • Effects of azodicarbonamide (ADA) were investigated on the rheological properties of flour dough by measuring farinogram, amylogram and extensogram based on the amount of ADA added. Quality characteristics of the bread made with the ADA added dough were also evaluated by measuring dough volume, moisture content, pH, proofed time, baking loss and textural characteristics. The farinogram showed that water absorption, stability and elasticity of the dough with ADA were higher than those without ADA. However, its absorption time and weakness decreased compared to the dough without ADA. Through the amylogram, it was found that gelatinization temperature and maximum viscosity increased, but temperature of maximum viscosity reduced in the dough with ADA. The extensogram showed that the area and resistance of the dough increased slightly but extensibility decreased drastically after fermentation, resulting in the ratio of resistance and extensibility (R/E) of the dough with ADA was lower than those without ADA. The bread prepared with the dough containing ADA after freezing up to 12 weeks showed higher pH and specific loaf volume but lower moisture content, second proof time and resistance than those without ADA.

Intermittent Atomization Characteristics of Multi-Hole and Single-Hole Diesel Nozzle

  • The intermittent spray characteristics of a multi-hole and a single-hole diesel nozzle were experimentally investigated. The hole number of the multi-hole nozzle was 5, and the hole diameter of the 5-hole and the single-hole nozzle was the same as d$\_$n/=0.32 ㎜ with the constant hole length to diameter ratio(l$\_$n//d$\_$n/=2.81). The droplet diameters of the spray, including the time-resolved droplet diameter, SMD (Sauter mean diameter) and AMD (arithmetic mean diameter) , injected intermittently from the two nozzles into the still ambient were measured by using a 2-D PDPA (phase Doppler particle analyzer). Through the time-resolved evolutions of the droplet diameter, it was found that the structure of the multi-hole and the single-hole nozzle spray consisted of the three main parts : (a) the leading edge affected by surrounding air. and composed of small droplets; (b) the central part surrounded by the leading edge and mixing flow region and scarcely affected by the resistance of air, (c) the trailing edge formed by the passage of the central part. The SMD decreases gradually with the increase in the radial distance, and the constant value is obtained at the outer region of the radial distance (normalized by hole diameter) of 7-8 and 6 for the 5-hole and single-hole nozzle, respectively. The SMD along the centerline of the spray decrease shapely with the increase in the axial distance after showing the maximum value near the nozzle tip. The SMD remains the constant value near the axial distance(normalized by hole diameter) of 150 and 180 for the 5-hole and the single-hole nozzle, respectively.

  • During several method of improvement efficient, We analyzed Doherty Amplifier That used by simple circuit and 180w PEP LDMOS to analyze improvement of efficient and linearity. We for testing performance of Doherty Amplifier compared with Balanced Class AB, the experimental results show when Peaking Amp $V_gs.P$=1.53V, the efficiency is increased at Maximum 11.6$\%$. After finding optimum bias point of linearity improvement by manual tuning gate bias, when WCDMA 4FA $V_gs.P$=3.68V IMSR could be increased maximum 3.34dB. especially, when we match bias point of Peaking amp at 1.53V, we could get a excellent efficiency increase and have fUR under -3203c at output power 43dBm.

Revisit on Experimental Conditions in Determination of Stress Intensity Factor and the J-Integral Using the Methods of Caustics (응력확대계수와 J-적분 결정을 위한 코스틱스방법의 실험조건에 관한 연구)

  • Experimental conditions of the optical shadow methods of caustics for measurement of the stress intensity factor and the J-integral in various materials(polycarbonate, PMMA, Al 5586D) are investigated. The necessary experimental requirements toe determine accurate values of the stress intensity factors and the J-integrals are described. The ratio of $r_o$ (radius of initial curve) to $r_p$ (plastic zone size) is selected as a parameter to verify the experimental limitation of the method of caustics in determination of fracture parameters. In this study, transmission caustics method was used for compact tension specimens made of polycarbonate and PMMA. while reflection caustics method was applied to c-shaped tension specimen made of Al 5586D. The appropriate ranges of $r_o/r_p$ tp determine accurate values of stress intensity factors were found to be 1.5~1.8. Existing experimental results have been obtained mainly by changing $r_p$ with different loads in $r_o/r_p$. However, in this study we could obtain varying $K_{caus}/K_{th}$ over the wide range of $r_o/r_p$ at fixed load conditions with newly designed optical arrangement. Thus, we could find the range in which theoretical and experimental results agree well each other by changing $r_o$ values only. In Al 5586D specimen, experimental caustics were located inside of the plastic zone, and $K_{caus}/K_{th}$ were found to be not unity in this range. It is found that $J_{caus}/J_{th}=1{\;}with{\;}r_o/t{\geq}0.8$ and the experimental plastic zone includes the contours of caustics.

Luminescent Characteristics of $Mg_xZn_{1-x}SiN_2$ Based Phosphors for Thin Film Electroluminescent Device Applications ($Mg_xZn_{1-x}SiN_2$를 모체로 한 박막 전계발광소자용 형광체의 발광특성)

  • Photoluminescent and cathodoluminescent charcteristics of inorganic luminescent materials were investigated ot develop possible phosphors for thin film electroluminescent (TFEL) device applications. Mg, Zn, and Photoluminescent and cathodoluminescent charcteristics of inorganic luminescent materials were investigated ot develop possible phosphors for thin film electroluminescent (TFEL) device applications. Mg, Zn, and $Si_3N_4$ powders were used to synthesize $(Mg_xZn_{1-x})SiN_2$ host materials. $Tb_4O_7$ and $Eu_2O_3$ powdrs were added as luminescent centers. Very sharp emission spectra of $Tb^{3+}$ ions were observed from $Mg._5Zn._5SiN_2:Tb$ sampels sintered at $1400^{\circ}C$ for an hour and the maximum intensity of emission spectra occured at wavelength of 550nm (green light). Synthetic conditions of $(Mg_xZn_{1-x})SiN_2:Eu$ phosphors were optimized for the hghest luminescence. The Eu concentrations were varied from 0.2% to 1.6%. Before firing, the powders were mixed using ballmills, methanol, acetone, or D.I. water. The Mg/Zn ratio also were varied from x=0.3 to x=0.7. The maximum PL intensity was obtained from a sample with 1.2% Eu concentration and the powder was mixed with methanol and dried before firing. The maximum intensity of the emission spectra occurred t the wavelength of 470nm(blue light). TFEL devices fabricated by using sputter deposition of $(Mg._3Zn._7)SiN_2:Eu$ phosphor layer showed yellowish white emission at the phosphor field of 2MV/cm.

  • The concrete plug in an underground cavern prevents the stored product (oil, gas, etc) from leaking and the excessive inflow of underground water, so it plays an important role in construction and operation of the storage cavern. Additionally, it should maintain its stability under every possible loading condition. Once the plug is constructed, the cavern is isolated from the external access. Therefore, mechanical and hydraulic consideration should be made in construction to fulfill its function. Therefore, in this study, numerical analyses were conducted to study the optimal shape and thickness of the plug with respect to the various conditions of installation depth, the shape of the plug, in-situ stress ratio (K), the condition of rock-plug interface, and the effect of Excavation Damaged Zone (EDZ). This paper also presents the effect of slot depth on the hydraulic behavior of the plug. These analyses were carried out by using the 2-dimensional finite difference code, rm FLAC, and the 3D code, rm FLAC$\^$3D/.

  • 3D 패키징 기술은 전기소자의 소형화, 고용량화, 저전력화, 높은 신뢰성등의 요구와 함께 그 중요성이 대두대고 있다. 이러한 3D 패키징의 연결방법은 와이어 본딩 또는 플립칩등의 기존의 방법에서 TSV(Through Silicon Via)를 이용하여 적층하는 방법이 주목받고 있다. TSV는 기존의 와이어 본딩과 비교하여 고집적도, 빠른 신호전달, 낮은 전력소비 등의 장점을 가지고 있어 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. TSV의 세부 공정 중 비아필링(Via filling)기술은 I/O수 증가와 미세피치화에 따른 비아(Via) 직경의 감소 및 종횡비(Via Aspect Ratio)증가로 인해 기존 필링 공정으로는 한계가 있다. 기존의 비아 홀(Via hole)에 금속을 필링하기 위한 방법으로 전기도금법이 많이 사용되고 있으나, 전기도금법은 전기도금액 조성, 첨가제의 종류, 전류밀도, 전류모드 등에 따라 결과물에 큰 차이가 발생되어, 최적공정조건의 도출이 어렵다. 또한 20um이하의 비아직경과 높은 종횡비로 인하여 충진시 void형성등의 문제점이 발생하기도 한다. 본 연구에서는 용융솔더와 진공을 이용하여 비아를 필링시켰다. 이 방법은 관통된 비아가 형성된 웨이퍼 양단에 압력차를 주어, 작은 직경을 갖는 비아 홀의 표면장력을 극복하고, 용융상태의 솔더가 관통된 비아 홀 내부로 필링되는 방법이다. 관통 비아홀이 형성 된 웨이퍼 위에 솔더페이스트를 $250^{\circ}C$이상 온도를 가해 용융상태로 만든 후 웨이퍼 하부에 진공을 형성하여 필링하는 방법과 용융솔더를 노즐을 통하여 위쪽으로 유동시켜 그 위에 비아홀이 형성된 웨이퍼를 접촉하고 웨이퍼 상부에 진공을 형성하여 필링하는 방법으로 실험을 각각 실시하였다. 이 때, 웨이퍼 두께는 100um이하이며 홀 직경은 20, 30um, 웨이퍼 상부와 하부의 진공차는 약 0.02~0.08Mpa, 진공 유지시간은 1~3s로 실시하여 최적 조건을 고찰하였다. 각 조건에 따른 필링 후 단면을 전자현미경(FE-SEM)을 통해 관찰하였다. 실험 결과 0.04Mpa 이상에서 1s내의 시간에 모든 비아홀이 기공(Void)없이 완벽하게 필링되는 것을 관찰하였으며 이 결과는 기존의 방법에 비하여 공정시간을 감소시켜 생산성이 대폭 향상 될 수 있는 방법임을 확인하였다.

Changes of physicochemical characteristics of various rice cooking by using milk and in vitro digestibility (취반과정중 조리수가 우유일 때 이화학적 특성과 in vitro 소화도)

  • The changes of various cooking experiment (gelatinization, swelling, texture, water absorbance) and amino acid, fatty acid composition and the effect of digestibility on glucose examination (in vitro) were investigated at various rice during cooking by using milk. The results are summarized as follows. 1) In the effect of various water-to-rice ratios on the degree of absorbance of rice, Rice (using water) always showed higher absorbance than rice. (using milk) optimum water absorbance time were shown to be 40 minute for rice (using water) and 50 minute for rice (using milk). 2) The degree of gelatinization (D.G) by iodine colorimetric method increased proportionally according to the increase of water-to-rice ratio and rice cooking always showed higher D.G than rice milk cooking. When the same D.G rice milk cooking food required 40~50% higher water-to-rice ratios than rice cooking food. 3) Various rice cooking food, the palatability were best food by rice bean milk cooking food. 4) The main Amino acid composition of using milk rice cooked food were Glutenine, Leusine, Asparagine, Valine, Arginin above 42% of the Total Amino acid. The contents of Lysine and Methionine were 476.50mg, 412.16mg in using Milk rice cooking food. 5) Using rice Milk cooking food ana Rice bean Milk cooking food, rice cooking, rice bean cooking in phosphate Buffer, in vitro Enzymatic glucose were carried out in dialysis bag. During 90 minute of incubation at $37^{\circ}C$, reducing sugar were analyzed from dialysate. Starch digestibility measured from human Saliva, Sali a, Pencreatic Amylase treatment was high in Rice Milk cooking food, Rice bean Milk cooking food and rice cooking food and rice bean cooking food but remarkely low.

Dietary Intake of Calcium and It's Apparent Absorption Rate of School Children in Korea (학령기아동의 칼슘섭취 현황 및 그 흡수율에 관한 연구)

  • This study was designed to investigate calcium intake, the ratio of Ca intake versus R.D.A. (Recommended Dietary Allowance) for Ca, apparent Ca absorption rate, and Ca sources of food among school children in Korea. One hundred school children aged from 6 to 12 years were engaged in this study; 33 subjects were from farming village neal Seoul, and 67 children from big cities. Two days of food consumption records and feces collections of the subjects had been done from April 1978 to June 1978. The following observations were made in the present study; 1) Average Ca intake of total subjects was $457{\pm}214mg$ which is only 76% of R.D.A. for Ca. Calcium intakes for farming village children was higher than that of the subjects from big cities (p<0.05). 2) Survey on the food sources of Ca revealed that the amount of Ca taken from cereals averaged 120 mg (22.3% of total Ca intake), 111 mg (24.3%) from fruits and vegetables, 176 mg (38.5%) from meats, poultry, fishes and eggs, and only 68 mg (14.9%) was supplied by milk and milk products. From the data collected, following observations were made; a) No significant difference in Ca intake from cereals was found between village children and the ones from big cities. b) Average Ca intake from fruits and vegetables of city children was significantly higher than that of village children (p<0.005) with the values for 133 mg for the former and 64 mg for the latter. c) For the group of meats, poultry, fishes and eggs, significantly higher intake was found in village subjects than city children (p<0.0005) with the values of 340 mg and 95 mg, respectively. d) Contrarily, Ca intake from milk and milk products was significantly (p<0.0005) much higher in the city children (98 mg) than village ones (7 mg). 3) Apparent Ca absorption rate of total subjects was 51%; 44% for village children and 54% for city children. Ca absorption rate tends to be higher in the city subjects but no significant difference was noted.
