In 1970's Goodykoontz gave characterizations of connectedness imkleinen and locally arcwise connectedness of $2^X$ only at singleton set {x} ${\epsilon} 2^X$ [5,6,7]. In [7], we gave necessary conditions for C(X) to be arcwise connected im kileinen at any point $A {\epsilon} C(X)$.

Consider the heteroscedastic regression model $Y_i=g(x_i)+{\sigma}_i\;{\epsilon}_i=(1{\leq}i{\leq}n)$, where ${\sigma}^2_i=f(u_i)$, the design points $(x_i,\;u_i)$ are known and nonrandom, and g and f are unknown functions defined on closed interval [0, 1]. Under the random errors $\epsilon_i$ form a sequence of NA random variables, we study the asymptotic normality of wavelet estimators of g when f is a known or unknown function.

This paper is to show the diphthong system of Jeju dialect speakers in their 70s or more on the basis of the acoustic analysis of their phonetic data. It is revealed through the analysis of their phonetic data that they clearly distinguish such diphthongs as [we], [w$\epsilon$], [yc] and [yo]. However, this paper shows that they are phonetically insensitive to the separation between [ye] and [y$\epsilon$] and they seldom make a precise pronunciation of diphthong [iy], which male speakers tend to pronounce to be [i] and female speakers to be [i].

We will define a base of a fuzzy (quasi-)uniform space and investigate some properties. of bases. In particular for the family ${{\beta}i}_{i{\epsilon}} of fuzzy$ (quasi-)uniform bases on X there exists the coarsest fuzzy (quasi-) uniformity on X which is finer than fuzzy (quasi-)uniform ${\Phi}_{{\beta}i} generated by {\beta}_i for each i{\epsilon}{\Gamma}.$

In this paper a new approach to adaptive control using a combination of both direct and indirect methods has been proposed. Based on the estimates of the plant parameters and the current values of the control parameters, closed-loop estimation errors .epsilon.$_{\theta}$(t) and .epsilon.$_{k}$(t) are defined. These in turn are used in the adaptive laws for updating both identification as well as control parameters. The global uniform stability of the overall system is shown by constructing a Lyapunov function.n.

A mixed analytical/numerical method is developed here to solve the low Reynolds number kepsilon turbulence model. In this method the advection-diffusion part is solved numerically, while the source terms are split into two parts: one part is solved analytically and the next is solved numerically.

When a .epsilon.$_{1}$-modification is applied to a plant with unmodeled dynamics and bounded output disturbance, the output error seems to be relatively large. A .epsilon.$_{1}$-modification with the same switching action as in the switching a modification is proposed to reduce the output proposed adaptive control scheme is to a second-oder plant and it can be asserted that the control objective is satisfied.

We in this paper have defined the concept of .epsilon.-symmetric relation between the Lagrangean relaxation and the Benders' decomposition. This links the solutions of the Lagrangean subproblems and those of the Benders' subproblems even under positive duality gaps. As an application we have discussed the reduction of the size for a special class of problems.

In this paper, we prove that a function satisfying the following inequality $${\parallel}f(x)+2f(y)+2f(z){\parallel}{\leq}{\parallel}2f(\frac{x}{2}+y+z){\parallel}+{\epsilon}({\parallel}x{\parallel}^r{\cdot}{\parallel}y{\parallel}^r{\cdot}{\parallel}z{\parallel}^r)$$ for all x, y, z ${\in}$ X and for $\epsilon{\geq}0$, is Cauchy additive. Moreover, we will investigate for the stability in Banach spaces.
