  • A simple synthetic strategy is described for one-pot synthesis of 5,7-diaryl-4,4-dimethyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydropyridino[3,4-d]-1,2,3-selenadiazoles (11-15) in the presence of NaHSO4.SiO2 as a heterogeneous catalyst in dry media under microwave irradiation.Key words: One-pot synthesis, 3,3-Dimethyl-2,6-diarylpiperidin-4-one; 1,2,3-Selenadiazoles; Selenium dioxide; NaHSO4.SiO2 Heterogeneous catalyst.

  • A practical and efficient one-pot synthesis of 1,3,5-trisubstituted pyrazoles from ${\alpha},{\beta}$-enones and arylhydrazine hydrochlorides has been developed. The pyrazoles were formed via a tandem formation of the corresponding pyrazolines and an acid-catalyzed aerobic oxidation process.

  • ‘One-pot’ reaction procedure for the synthesis of novel morpholino pyrimidines (10-18) under microwave irradiation in ‘dry media’ in the presence of heterogeneous $NaHSO_4.SiO_2$ catalyst was developed. All the synthesized compounds were screened for their in vitro antibacterial activities against clinically isolated bacterial strains namely Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus cerues, Micrococcus luteus and Salmonella typhii and antifungal activities against fungal strains namely Aspergillus niger, Candida 6 and Candida 51. Structure activity relationship of the synthesized compounds against microbiological results was discussed.

  • A simple regioselective synthesis of cinnoline derivatives was achieved by a one-pot three component synthetic methodology. New substituted 7,8-dihydrocinnolin-5(6H)-ones are prepared via one-pot three component reaction of arylglyoxals with 1,3-cyclohexanedione and dimedone in the presence of hydrazine hydrate in moderate to good yields.

  • We report a facile one-pot aqueous-phase synthesis of PdAu bimetallic nanoparticles with different Pd/Au ratio. The synthesis was conducted by co-reduction of Pd and Au precursor using ascorbic acid as a reducing agent and in the presence of polyallylamine hydrochloride (PAH). By high-angle annular dark field scanning transmission electron microscopy (HAADF-STEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDS) analyses, we found that the synthesized nanoparticles had an onion-like core/shell/shell/shell structure with Au-rich core, Pd-rich shell, Au-rich shell, and Pd shell, respectively. We also investigated the catalytic performance of the synthesized PdAu nanoparticles toward hydrogen peroxide generation reaction.

  • A facile, green, efficient and environment-friendly protocol for the synthesis of 14-aryl- or alkyl-14Hdibenzo[a,j]xanthene, 1,8-dioxooctahydroxanthene and 12-aryl-8,9,10,12-tetrahydrobenzo[a]xanthene-11-one have been developed by one-pot condensation of various aldehydes with (i) ${\beta}$-naphthol (ii) cyclic 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds and (iii) ${\beta}$-naphthol and cyclic 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds, in the presence of 1,3,5-trichloro-2,4,6-triazinetrion (trichloroisocyanuric acid, TCCA) as catalyst under solvent-free conditions. The present approach offers the advantages of clean reaction, simple methodology, short reaction time, easy purification, and economic availability of the catalyst.

  • Glucose-1-phosphate uridylyltransferase from E. coli K12 was used to convert uridine-5'-triphosphate and glucose-1-phosphate to UDP-D-glucose. The conversion was efficient and completed within 5 minutes under the employed conditions. In addition, thymidine-5'-monophosphate kinase and acetate kinase were proven to be non-specific, converting udridine-5'-monophosphate to uridine-5'-triphosphate with 55% conversion after 6 h, which was much slower than the production of TTP under the same conditions (complete conversion within one hour). Since these two reactions could proceed under the same conditions, a one-pot synthesis of UDP-D-glucose with ATP regeneration was designed from easily available starting materials, and conversion up to 40% by HPLC peak integration was achieved given a reaction time of 4 h.

  • A simple and high yielding one-pot method for synthesis of 2,4,5-triarylimidazoles from condensation of benzoin or benzil, ammonium acetate and aromatic aldehydes using sulphanilic acid catalyst is described. The lower priced catalyst, higher yields and shorter reaction time are the advantages of the presented method.
