In this paper, we study the method of upper and lower solutions and develop the generalized quasilinearization technique for the existence and approximation of solutions to some three-point nonlocal boundary value problems associated with higher order fractional differential equations of the type $$^c{\mathcal{D}}^q_{0+}u(t)+f(t,u(t))=0,\;t{\in}(0,1)$$ $$u^{\prime}(0)={\gamma}u^{\prime}({\eta}),\;u^{\prime\prime}(0)=0,\;u^{\prime\prime\prime}(0)=0,{\ldots},u^{(n-1)}(0)=0,\;u(1)={\delta}u({\eta})$$, where, n-1 < q < n, $n({\geq}3){\in}\mathbb{N}$, 0 < ${\eta},{\gamma},{\delta}$ < 1 and $^c\mathcal{D}^q_{0+}$ is the Caputo fractional derivative of order q. The nonlinear function f is assumed to be continuous.

Let $\mathbb{A}=\mathbb{F}_q$[T] be the polynomial ring over a finite field $\mathbb{F}_q$[T] and K=$\mathbb{F}_q$(T) its field of fractions. Let ${\ell}$ be a fixed prime divisor of q-1. Let J be a finite set of monic irreducible polynomials $P{\in}{\mathbb{A}}$ with deg $P{\equiv}0$ (mod ${\ell})$. In this paper we define the group $C_K$ of circular units in K=k$(\{\sqrt[{\ell}]P\;:\;P{\in}J\})$ in the sense of Kucera [4] and compute the index of $C_K$ in the full unit group $O^*_K$.

In this paper, we study analytic and geometric properties of the solution q(z) to the differential equation q(z) + zq'(z)/q(z) = h(z) with the initial condition q(0) = 1 for a given analytic function h(z) on the unit disk |z| < 1 in the complex plane with h(0) = 1. In particular, we investigate the possible largest constant c > 0 such that the condition |Im [zf"(z)/f'(z)]| < c on |z| < 1 implies starlikeness of an analytic function f(z) on |z| < 1 with f(0) = f'(0) - 1 = 0.

The study was conducted to investigate the differences in carbon storage of Quercus mongolica stands with respect to latitude and altitude in Korea. Study sites were located in Mt. Joongwang, Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do (altitudes 1,300 m, 1,000 m, and 800 m), Mt. Taehwa, Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do (altitude 350 m), Mt. Wolak, lecheon-si, Chungcheongbuk-do (altitude 300 m), Mt. Baekwoon, Gwangyang-si, Jeollanam-do (altitude 800 m), and Mt. Halla, Jeju-do (altitude 1,000 m). Total carbon storage and annual carbon storage of Q. mongolica stands were 85-210 tonC/ha and 7.2-10.6 tonC/ha, respectively. Lower latitude (NE) stands of Q. mongolica showed more carbon storage and annual carbon storage than higher latitude stands. Carbon storage and annual carbon storage of Q. mongolica stands were increased in low altitude. Carbon storage of Q. mongolica stands was higher in the northern aspect than in the southern aspect. However, there were no significant differences in annual carbon storage between the aspects.

This paper presents the design approach and test results of the Q-band precision subminiature coaxial adaptor based on transmission line theory using multi-step impedance and air-holes to increase its cutoff frequency. In order to increase the frequency performance, the adaptor is designed with hooked structure, fixing step, multi-air-holes, and outer conductor. The return loss increments due to the hooked structure and multi air-holes are minimized to 2 dB and 1.5 dB, respectively. A VSWR(Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) of <1.2 is obtained from DC to 40 GHz, while guaranteeing the durability of the adaptor from room-temperature$(25^{\circ}C)$ to $120^{\circ}C$.

Let $v_p$ be the normalized exponential valuation of $C_p$ with $$\mid$p$\mid$_p = p^{-v_p (p)} = p^{-1}$. We set $p^* = p$ for any prime p > 2 $p^* = 4 for p = 2$.

In this paper, we classify all nonconstant smooth CR maps from a sphere $S_{n,1}{\subset}\mathbb{C}^n$ with n > 3 to the Shilov boundary $S_{p,q}{\subset}\mathbb{C}^{p{\times}q}$ of a bounded symmetric domain of Cartan type I under the condition that p - q < 3n - 4. We show that they are either linear maps up to automorphisms of $S_{n,1}$ and $S_{p,q}$ or D'Angelo maps. This is the first classification of CR maps into the Shilov boundary of bounded symmetric domains other than sphere that includes nonlinear maps.

The multi layer spiral inductors, which enhance the quality factor Q of an inductor fabricated on the silicon substrate, has been designed using a TSMC CMOS 0.2sum 1-poly 5-metal layer technology. To investigate the performance of the designed inductors, a 2.5-dimensional field simulation tool(Momentum) is used. The simulation results show that the quality factor Q of the 5-metal inductor is improved 1.8 times over that of a convention31 spiral inductor at 2GHz for wireless LAN applications.

The cyclic group $Cn={\langle}(12{\cdots}n){\rangle}$ acts on the set ($^{[n]}_k$) of all $k$-subsets of [$n$]. In this action of $C_n$ the number of orbits of size $d$, for $d|n$, is $$O^{n,k}_d=\frac{1}{d}\sum_{\frac{n}{d}|s|n}{\mu}(\frac{ds}{n})(^{n/s}_{k/s})$$. Stanton and White[7] generalized the above identity to construct the orbit polynomials $$O^{n,k}_d(q)=\frac{1}{[d]_{q^{n/d}}}\sum_{\frac{n}{d}|s|n}{\mu}(\frac{ds}{n})[^{n/s}_{k/s}]{_q}^s$$ and conjectured that $O^{n,k}_d(q)$ have non-negative coefficients. In this paper we give a combinatorial proof for the positivity of coefficients of the orbit polynomial $O^{n,3}_d(q)$.

EPCglobal Class-1 Gen-2 standard proposed Q-algorithm to select a frame size for the next query round. Q-algorithm calculates the frame size without estimating the number of tags. Therefore, the Q-algorithm has advantage that the reader's algorithm is simpler than other algorithms. However, it is impossible to allocate the optimized frame size. Also. the conventional Q-algorithm does not define an optimized parameter value C for adjusting the frame size. In this paper, we propose a modified Q-algorithm with the tag number estimation scheme, and evaluate the performance with computer simulations.
