눈개승마 피복이 토양유실 저감에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Cover Crop Aruncus dioicus var. kamtschaticus on Reducing Soil Erosion)

  • 본 연구는 눈개승마 피복이 토양유실 저감에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자, 눈개승마 피복지의 연토양유실량을 측정하였다. 또한 측정한 토양유실량을 바탕으로 RUSLE의 식생피복인자를 산정하였다. 산정한 식생피복인자와 토양유실 저감용으로 식재하는 츄잉훼스큐의 식생피복인자를 비교하여 눈개승마 피복이 토양유실 저감에 효과적인지 파악하였다. 피복종류에 따른 토양유실량은 눈개승마 피복시 2.22 Mg/ha, 츄잉훼스큐 피복시 1.85 Mg/ha, 일반 노지는 10.60 Mg/ha가 발생하였다. 피복 종류에 따른 식생피복인자는 눈개승마에서 $0.09{\pm}0.03$, 츄잉훼스큐에서 $0.08{\pm}0.03$, 일반 노지에서는 $0.35{\pm}0.10$로 나타났다. 나지에서는 $0.83{\pm}0.14$로 나타났다. 산정한 피복별 식생피복인자를 분산 분석한 결과는 피복종류에 따라 평균 값의 차이가 있었다. 사후분석을 통한 동일집단군을 분류한 결과 눈개승마와 츄잉훼스큐는 평균의 차이가 적은 유사집단으로 나타났다. 따라서, 눈개승마는 츄잉훼스큐에 비견될 정도로 토양유실 저감 효과가 있었다.

LiF첨가 MgO 세라믹스의 열적·유전적 특성 (Thermal and Dielectric Properties of LiF-Doped MgO Ceramics)

  • Sintering, microstructure, thermal conductivity and microwave dielectric properties of xLiF-(1-x)MgO ceramics (x=0.03~0.10 mol) were investigated. The high density was obtained in the specimens of $x{\geq}0.06$, i.e., 0.04 LiF-0.96 MgO in mol, whereas the amount of 0.03 mol LiF was insufficient to densify. From the result that the contact flattening in the sintered specimen was observed, the densification occurred through the liquid-phase sintering. The specimen of x=0.06 showed the highest room-temperature thermal conductivity. Relative density, thermal conductivity, dielectric constant, and quality factor ($Q{\times}f$) of the specimen for x=0.06 sintered at $900^{\circ}C$ for 4 h were 97.8%, $39.2Wm^{-1}K^{-1}$, 9.45, and 14,671 GHz, respectively.

터널의 안전율 평가 기법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Assessment of Safety Factor of Tunnels)

  • 본 연구에서는 터널의 안정성을 정량적으로 평가하기 위해 지반과 지보재의 파괴를 고려한 터널의 안전율에 대한 개념을 정립하고, 안전율을 계산하는 수치해석기법을 정립하고자 하였다. 안전율을 구하기 위해서 지반이 파괴될 때까지 지반의 강도를 감소시켜가며 반복적으로 해석을 수행하는 전단강도 감소기법을 사용하여 지반의 파괴 및 이에 따른 지보재의 파괴를 고려하여 측압계수 및 암반등급에 따른 터널의 안전율을 구하였다. 이 방법을 사용하면 파괴 활동면을 미리 가정하지 않아도 안전율과 파괴 활동면을 동시에 구할 수 있다. 수치해석은 유한 차분법에 기초를 둔 지반해석 프로그램인 FLA $C^{2D}$(ver 3.3)을 사용하였으며, 해석 결과로부터 소성영역의 분포와 지보재의 응력분포를 확인하였다. 해석 결과 양호한 1등급과 2등급의 암반에서는 안전율이 높게 나타났으며, 암반등급이 저하될수록 안전율은 낮게 계산되었다. 또한 측압계수 0.5인 경우가 측압계수 2.0인 경우보다 안전율이 더 크게 확보되는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 정의된 안전율은 터널의 안정성을 나타내는 정량적 지표로 사용될 수 있음을 확인하였으며. 소성영역, 숏크리트 응력, 록볼트 축력을 검토함으로써 터널에 설치되는 지보재의 양과 설치 위치를 조정하는데 도움이 될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.다.

  • The objective of the study is to assess temperament of a horse based on general temperament test by a questionnaire survey. Five test criteria were identified: gentleness, patience, aggressiveness, sensitivity, and friendliness, each on a 5-point scale. 114 horses bred at the National Institute of Animal Science (NIAS) in 2010, 2011 and 2012. The horses recorded scores of 3.6~3.9 for gentleness, 3.1~3.6 for patience, 3.4~4.0 for aggressiveness, 2.8~3.2 for sensitivity, and 3.4~3.8 for friendliness, the overall score for sensitivity the lowest. Horses born in 2012 scored lower than the rest in all five areas at a statistically significant level (P<0.05). By gender, the colts scored higher than the fillies in all five areas, but the discrepancy was not statistically significant. Factor analysis yielded only one factor, and the Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ value was 0.980 for standardization of Factor 1, indicating a high reliability of internal consistency. The correlation coefficients among the test criteria ranged between 0.85 and 0.91 (P<0.01). The assessment criteria used in this study are expected to provide a useful basis designing a temperament test horses.

  • Accurate measurements of the microwave surface resistance (Rs) of high temperature superconductor (HTS) films are important with regard to applications of HTS materials for wireless communications. As the surface resistance values of HTS films are usually extracted from the measured unloaded quality factor ($Q_0$) of resonators made of HTS films, it is essential to measure the resonator $Q_0$ with accuracy. The $TE_{011}\;mode\;Q_0$ of sapphire resonators with the endplates made of $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-{\delta}}$(YBCO) film on $LaAlO_3$ is measured by using the S-parameter circle-fit method at a frequency of about 19.6 GHz and temperatures of 30 K to 90 K, which is compared with the measured values by using the Lorentzian-fit method. Good agreements are found between the two sets of $Q_0$ values measured by using the two different methods whether the resonator is used in a weak-coupling scheme or a strong-coupling scheme, showing reliability of both methods fur measuring the resonator $Q_0$ accurately. The $Q_0$ of sapphire resonators with a gap between the top plate and the rest of the resonator is also discussed.

Zn2-2xSi1+xO4 세라믹스의 소결 및 마이크로파 유전 특성 (Sintering and Microwave Dielectric Properties of Zn2-2xSi1+xO4 Ceramics)

  • Sintering and microwave dielectric properties of $Zn_{2-2x}Si_{1+x}O_4$ (x=0~0.10) ceramics were investigated. The secondary phase of ZnO was observed in the specimen for x=0 whereas $SiO_2$ was detected in that for x=0.05. The composition of $Zn_2SiO_4$ might be close to x=0.02, i.e., $Zn_{1.96}Si_{1.02}O_4$; the ratio of Zn/Si is 1.922. The insufficient grain growth was observed in the specimen of x=0. For the specimens of $x{\geq}0.05$, the grain growth sufficiently occurred through the liquid phase sintering. The value of quality factor of all specimens was dependent on the x value, i.e., the ratio of Zn/Si, whereas that of dielectric constant was independent. Relative density, dielectric constant, and quality factor ($Q{\times}f$) of the specimen for x=0.05, i.e., $Zn_{1.9}Si_{1.05}O_4$, sintered at $1,400^{\circ}C$ were 96.5%, 6.43, and 115,166 GHz, respectively.

TT Mutant Homozygote of Kruppel-like Factor 5 Is a Key Factor for Increasing Basal Metabolic Rate and Resting Metabolic Rate in Korean Elementary School Children

  • We investigated the contribution of genetic variations of KLF5 to basal metabolic rate (BMR) and resting metabolic rate (RMR) and the inhibition of obesity in Korean children. A variation of KLF5 (rs3782933) was genotyped in 62 Korean children. Using multiple linear regression analysis, we developed a model to predict BMR in children. We divided them into several groups; normal versus overweight by body mass index (BMI) and low BMR versus high BMR by BMR. There were no differences in the distributions of alleles and genotypes between each group. The genetic variation of KLF5 gene showed a significant correlation with several clinical factors, such as BMR, muscle, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and insulin. Children with the TT had significantly higher BMR than those with CC (p=0.030). The highest muscle was observed in the children with TT compared with CC (p=0.032). The insulin and C-peptide values were higher in children with TT than those with CC (p=0.029 vs. p=0.004, respectively). In linear regression analysis, BMI and muscle mass were correlated with BMR, whereas insulin and C-peptide were not associated with BMR. In the high-BMR group, we observed that higher muscle, fat mass, and C-peptide affect the increase of BMR in children with TT (p < 0.001, p < 0.001, and p=0.018, respectively), while Rohrer's index could explain the usual decrease in BMR (adjust $r^2$=1.000, p < 0.001, respectively). We identified a novel association between TT of KLF5 rs3782933 and BMR in Korean children. We could make better use of the variation within KLF5 in a future clinical intervention study of obesity.

뇌졸중의 위험요인에 대한 환자-대조군 연구 (The Case-Control study on the Risk Factors of Stroke)

  • The purpose of this case-control study was to show the relationship between risk factor(Sex, Age, Martial Status, Educational Periods, Family history, Variables of Obesity, Smoking Status, Drinking Status, Past History, Blood Test) and the incidence of stroke. Methods: 788 stroke patients were enrolled as the case group and 450 non-stroke patients as control group from Sep.2006 to Dec.2010. Patients were hospitalized within 30 days after the onset of stroke. Risk factors and warning signs were obtained from personal interview by oriental medicine doctors who used CRF. Results: 1. Age was found to have significant relation with stroke(p<.0001). 2. Martial status(p<.0001, OR=0.44) and educational periods(p<.0001) were both significant risk factor for stroke. 3. As a result of reviewing the influence of family history, it was found to have no significant relation with stroke. Stroke was found to have significant relation with stroke(OR=1.50). 4. Female waist circumference(WC, p<.0001) and female waist-hip circumference ratio(WHR, p<.0001) were risk factors for stroke. On the other hand, male WC and male WHR showed no significant influence on stroke occurrence as an independent risk factor. 5. Both smoking status(p<.0001, current smoker OR=8.95) and drinking status(p<.0001, current drinker OR=2.50, former drinker OR=2.82) were significant risk factors for stroke. 6. As a result of reviewing the influence of past history, transient ischemic attack(p<.0001, OR=8.46), hypertension(p<.0001, OR=4.72), hyperlipidemia(0.0064), diabetes mellitus(p<.0001, OR=3.34), stroke(p<.0001, OR=50.26) were significant risk factors. On the other hand, ischemic heart disease(p=0.2332) was found to have no significant relation with stroke. 7. Increase of WBC, RBC, Platelet, TG, FBS and Cl- level were significant risk factor of stroke, On the other hand, decrease of Hgb, Hct, AST, HDL-chol, LDH, Na+ and K+ level were significant risk factor of stroke. T-chol and ALT level showed no significant influence on stroke occurrence.

Dielectric and Piezoelectric Properties of "Lead-free" Piezoelectric Rhombohedral Ba(Ti0.92Zr0.08)O3 Single Crystals

  • Rhombohedral $Ba(Ti_{0.92}Zr_{0.08})O_3$ single crystals are fabricated using the cost-effective solid-state single crystal growth (SSCG) method; their dielectric and piezoelectric properties are also characterized. Measurements show that (001) $Ba(Ti_{0.92}Zr_{0.08})O_3$ single crystals have an electromechanical coupling factor ($k_{33}$) higher than 0.85, piezoelectric charge constant ($d_{33}$) of about 950 [pC/N], and piezoelectric voltage constant ($g_{33}$) higher than 40 [${\times}10^{-3}Vm/N$]. Especially the $d_{33}$ of (001) $Ba(Ti_{0.92}Zr_{0.08})O_3$ single crystals was by about six times higher than that of their ceramics. Because their electromechanical coupling factor ($k_{33}$) and piezoelectric voltage constant ($d_{33}$, $g_{33}$) are higher than those of soft PZT ceramics, it is expected that rhombohedral (001) $Ba(Ti_{0.92}Zr_{0.08})O_3$ single crystals can be used as "lead-free" piezoelectric materials in many piezoelectric applications such as actuator, sensor, and transducer.

  • In this paper, we develop the Bayesian test procedure for the intraclass correlation coefficient in the unbalanced one-way random effect model based on the reference priors. That is, the objective is to compare two nested model such as the independent and intraclass models using the factional Bayes factor. Thus the model comparison problem in this case amounts to testing the hypotheses $H_1:\rho=0$ versus $H_2:{\rho}{\neq}0$. Some real data examples are provided.
