To investigate taxonomical relationships of Fusarium species, $esterase-{\alpha},\;-{\beta}$, acid phosphatase, malate dehydrogenase, peroxidase and polygalacturonase were extracted and the isozyme patterns were compared by using polyacrylamide gel electrophoretic analysis. Only polygalacturonase was monozyme and the other enzymes showed little differences in banding patterns. Genetic similarities based on the isozyme banding patterns were as follows: the interspecific similarity between F. subglutinans and F. moniliforme in Liseola showed the closest relationship of 74.3% of all species studies. And the similarity between section Elegans and section Liseola was 45.4%. F. napiforme and F. nygamai showed the similarity of 64.7%, similar to the correlation between species in the same section. The similarity of these two species to Liseola and Elegans showed 55.2% and 45.4%, being revealed that they would be closer to Liseola than Elegans. However, these results were similar to those of any other sections. Therefore it suggested that these 2 species should be in a different section from any other sections. And F. graminearum showed the similarity of 28.2% to the other 6 species.

Let q be a power of 16. Every polynomial $P\in\mathbb{F}_q$[t] is a strict sum $P=A^2+A+B^3+C^3+D^3+E^3$. The values of A,B,C,D,E are effectively obtained from the coefficients of P. The proof uses the new result that every polynomial $Q\in\mathbb{F}_q$[t], satisfying the necessary condition that the constant term Q(0) has zero trace, has a strict and effective representation as: $Q=F^2+F+tG^2$. This improves for such q's and such Q's a result of Gallardo, Rahavandrainy, and Vaserstein that requires three polynomials F,G,H for the strict representation $Q=F^2$+F+GH. Observe that the latter representation may be considered as an analogue in characteristic 2 of the strict representation of a polynomial Q by three squares in odd characteristic.

Consider a set S(x ; ${\delta}$) of lattice points defined by S(x ; ${\delta}$) = $x{\mid}x={\delta}+j$, j=0, 1, ${\cdots}$, n-1, $0{\leq}{\delta}{\leq}1$} The lattice distribution induced by the p.d.f. of $T_n$ is defined as follow: (1) $f_n^{(\delta)}(x)=\{f_n(x)\;if\;x{\in}S(x;{\delta})\\0\;otherwise.$. In this paper we show that $f_n{^{(\delta)}}(x)$ is a probability function thus we obtain a family of lattice distributions {$f_n{^{(\delta)}}(x)$ : $0{\leq}{\delta}{\leq}1$}, that the mean and variance of the lattice distributions are independent of ${\delta}$.

In this paper, we propose a constrained alternating least squares nonnegative matrix factorization algorithm (cALSNMF) to detect active brain regions from single subject's task-related fMRI data. In cALSNMF, we define a new cost function which considers the uncorrelation and noisy problems of fMRI data by adding decorrelation and smoothing constraints in original Euclidean distance cost function. We also generate a novel training procedure by modifying the update rules and combining with optimal brain surgeon (OBS) algorithm. The experimental results on visuomotor task fMRI data show that our cALSNMF fits fMRI data better than original ALSNMF in detecting task-related brain activation from single subject's fMRI data.

In this paper, we prove that any stable f-harmonic map ${\psi}$ from ${\mathbb{S}}^2$ to N is a holomorphic or anti-holomorphic map, where N is a $K{\ddot{a}}hlerian$ manifold with non-positive holomorphic bisectional curvature and f is a smooth positive function on the sphere ${\mathbb{S}}^2$with Hess $f{\leq}0$. We also prove that any stable f-harmonic map ${\psi}$ from sphere ${\mathbb{S}}^n$ (n > 2) to Riemannian manifold N is constant.

The expression of Corynebacterium ammoniagenes purF was analyzed by utilizing a plasmid carrying a cat gene fused to the purF promoter region. Adenine and guanine repressed the expression of the purF gene by 20~30% but hypoxanthine did not exert such repressive effect. The expression purF was maximal at the late log phase and remained constant throughout the stationary phase. Promoter $P_{180}$ which was developed in C. glutamicum was also functional in C. ammoniagenes, achieving maximal activity at the late log phase. The promoter outperformed Escherichia coli $P_{tac}$ promoter by 40~50% level. DNA-affinity purification identified a protein which could bind to the promoter region of the purF gene. The protein showed high similarity to the CRP-family transcriptional regulator encoded by NCgl0120 in C. glutamicum. The size of the screened protein agreed with the expected protein size from the ORF NCgl0120. The corresponding gene in C. ammoniagenes encoded a 42 kDa polypeptide composed of 400 amino acids with expected pI of 4.9. The encoded protein showed 14.1% and 15.8% identity with E. coli and Bacillus subtilis PurR, respectively, suggesting that the isolated protein might be a novel type of regulatory protein involved in the regulation of purine metabolism.

Let R be a commutative ring with identity, R[X] the polynomial ring over R and S a multiplicative subset of R. Let U = {f ∈ R[X] | f is monic} and let N = {f ∈ R[X] | c(f) = R}. In this paper, we show that if S is an anti-Archimedean subset of R, then R is an S-Noetherian ring if and only if R[X]_U is an S-Noetherian ring, if and only if R[X]_N is an S-Noetherian ring. We also prove that if R is an integral domain and R[X]_U is an S-principal ideal domain, then R is an S-principal ideal domain.

The retrofitting of a thickening unit process is widely considered in municipal wastewater treatment plants in Korea to enhance the anaerobic digestion efficiency. The authors examined the effect of feed concentration (2-34.1 g VS/L) and feed to microorganism (F/M) ratio (0.50-1.35 g VS/g VS) on anaerobic batch digestion of sewage sludge. Methane yield over 90 mL $CH_4/g$ $VS_{feed}$ was found at a feed concentration in the range of 12-26 g VS/L and a F/M ratio below 0.6 g VS/g VS. A high F/M ratio decreased methane yield and rate with oragnic acid accumulation. As sudden increase of sewage sludge concentration prior to anaerobic digestion would jeopardize the digester performance due to the rasied F/M ratio, gradual increase of the sludge feed concentration or an additional biomass retention in the digester is recommended.

J noise component due to base spreading resistance ${\gamma}_{bb}$ of bipolar junction transistors fabricated by BiCMOS process is experimentally analyzed. The analysis of equivalent noise circuit for common collector shows that output 1/f noise value is purely generated from ${\gamma}_{bb}\;when\;g_m^{-1}-{\gamma}_{bb}-R_B$ is closely to zero. From the $S^{1/f}_{Irbb}=K_fI_b{^{A_1}}/f$, we fine that $A_f=2,\;K_f{\simeq}5{\times}10^{-9}$. And Hooge constant ${\alpha}$ values are in the order, of 10$^{-3}$.

NNbF is a newly emerging approach to reduce flood risk in coastal and fluvial areas using natural features or engineered nature-based features with the expectation of co-benefits of provisional, regulating, and socio-cultural services provided by the ecosystem. NNbF is not quite different from existing, related terms based on nature, such as NbS, Eco-DRR, NI, GI, EwN, and BwN, for all these terms include expectation of benefits for human societies by directly utilizing or mimicking nature's ecological functions. If we focus on the comprehensiveness of each term's subject and object, we can say that NbS > NNbF > (Eco-DRR, NI/GI). Among the 18 measures introduced in the NNbF International Guideline in the river and floodplain management category, it was found that measures of wash lands and floodplain restoration, including levee setback/removal and side-channel restoration, seemed to be the most applicable to rivers in Korea. These selected measures could be more effective when river managers purchase riparian lands along river courses by relevant laws for river water-quality protection.
