Spectrophotometric investigation of the interaction of Cefpodoxime proxetil (CFP) with $Ca^{2+},\;Mg^{2+},\;Mn^{2+},\;Fe^{3+},\;Co^{2+},\;Ni^{2+},\;Cu^{2+}$ and $Zn^{2+}$ in acidic medium showed the formation of 1:1 complex. The absorption spectrum of pure drug exhibits two prominent peaks at 270 and 345 nm. Its spectra scanned at several pH exhibited two isosbestic points (305 and 330 nm) indicating the presence of zwitterionic condition of drug in solution phase. The fluorescence emission spectra of CFP in presence of different concentrations of metal ions showed enhancement in fluorescence intensity which is ascribed to chelating enhancement fluorescence effect (CHEF). The stoichiometry of the complexes was determined by Job’s and Benesi-Hildebrand method. The stability of the complexes follow the order $Ca^{2+}\;<\;Mg^{2+}\;<\;Co^{2+}\;<\;Ni^{2+}\;<\;Zn^{2+}\;<\;Mn^{2+}\;<\;Cu^{2+}\;<\;Fe^{3+}$.

In order to investigate effect of metal ion and antioxidant on rancidity of crude rapeseed oil (CRO), $Fe^{2+}$, $Cu^{2+}$, $Co^{2+}$, $Ni^{2+}$, $Cr^{2+}$, $Sn^{2+}$, $Mn^{2+}$, $Zn^{2+}$, and antioxidants including BHA, Vitamin C, and Tocopherol were used. The specific gravity and refractive index of CRO were $0.92g/cm^3$ and 1.45, respectively. The chromaticities of light, red, and yellow in CRO were 88.6 and 98.7, respectively. Among various fatty acids, Oleic acid (C18:1) concentration was highest, 62.3% and Linoleic acid (C18:2) concentration was 19.16%. In the case of Linolenic acid (C18:3) and Palmitic acid (C16:0), they were 9.88 and 5.2%, respectively. The concentrations of unsaturated fatty acids and saturated fatty acid were 92.2 and 7.8%, respectively. The degree of expediting rancidity of CRO was an order of $Fe^{2+}$> $Cu^{2+}$> $Cr^{2+}$> $Zn^{2+}$> $Ni^{2+}$> $Al^{2+}$> $Mn^{2+}$> $Mn^{2+}$> $Sn^{2+}$> $Co^{2+}$> $Li^{2+}$. Especially, when $Cu^{2+}$ and $Fe^{2+}$ was used, the peroxide value concentration was about 4.0 fold higher than non addition of them. The inhibition effect of rancidity of CRO using antioxidant with $Cu^{2+}$ and $Fe^{2+}$ was an order of BHA> Vitamin C> Tocopherol.

This pot experiment was conducted to find out the effects of boron application( $B_{0}$ ) ; control, B$_1$; 0.2, $B_2$; 2.0, $B_3$; 6.0, $B_4$; 15.0 boron me/pot) on the forage performance of pure and mixed cultures of orchardgrass and white clover. The fourth part was concerned with the changes in the contents of B, Fe, Mn, Cu, and Zn in forages. The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1. The boron(B) contents of both forages and their differences among the B treatments generally decreased according to the cutting order. The B contents of white clover were somewhat lower in the $B_{0}$ than in the $B_2$. However, the differences in the yields between $B_{0}$ and $B_2$ were relatively great. It was probably caused by the latent B-deficiency in the $B_{0}$. Compared with white clover, the B contents of orchardgrass had relatively great differences between the $B_{0}$ and B$_2$, but both yields tended to be similar. 2. The contents of Fe, Mn, Cu, and Zn in both forages were generally different according to the forage species, whether it was a pure or mixed cultures, and additional fertilization. The effects of B application on their contents were different according to the micronutrients and above factors. 3. The Fe contents of white clover were lower in the $B_{0}$ and $B_4$ than in the$ B_2$. It tended to be related to the weak growth of roots and low yields in the $B_{0}$ and $B_2$. However, there were not consistent in the changes of contents of Mn, Cu, and Zn by the rates of B application. 4. The effects of B application on the total ion concentrations of Fe, Mn, Cu, and Zn were not consistent in both forages. However, the concentrations were generally affected by the changes in the contents of Mn and Zn. The concentrations of white clover were higher in a pure than in mixed culture.
Yellow Sand Phenomena was observed from April 8 th to 10 th in 1990. During this period particle was collected to investigate the chacteristics of chemical composition of particulate by High Volume Air Sampler and Andersen Air Sa~npler in Seoul. During this period the particle concentration was 350 yg/$m^3$ and the anions, cations, and metal concentrations were increased and the orders of these were $S0_4\;^{-2}>N0_3\;^->Cl^->F^-, Na^+>Ca^{+2}>NH_4\;^+>Mg^{2+}>K^+$, and Fe>Al>Si>Zn>Pb respectively. The principal source of Yellow Sand were identified soil and sea salt. Mn used by the trace element of soil, the persentage of contribution from soil was calculated to be about 81.3% for the particle increased by Yellow Sand Phenomena. Also the principal chemical compounds of particle were estimate metals(Fe, Al, Si, Zn) oxides, $CaSO_4, NaSO_4, MgSO_4, NaC1, MgCl_2$ and $(NH_4)_2SO_4$.
A research for the recovery of the metal with high purity from the waste tin plating solution was carried out. First, tin plating waste solution was tested to remove the organic substances and metallic impurities such as Fe, Zn, Na etc. using ion exchange resin having iminodiacetic functional groups (Lewatit TP 207). Second, the tin solution was purified to obtain the high purity tin solution using ion exchange resin having ethylhexyl-phosphate functional groups (Lewatit VPOC 1026). Finally, 99.98% of the high purity of tin metal can be recovered from the purified solution by cyclone type electrowinning method.

Mn-Zn ferrite thin films were deposited on $SiO_2(1000 \AA)/Si(100)$ by ion beam sputtering using a single ion source. A mosaic target consisting of a single crystal(ll0) Mn-Zn ferrite with a Fe metal strip on it was used. As-deposited films without oxygen gas flow have a wiistite structure due to oxygen deficiencies, which originated from the extra metal atoms sputtered from the metal strips during deposition. The as-deposited films with oxygen gas flow, however, have a spinel structure with (111) preferred orientation. The crystallization of thin films was maximized at the ion beam extraction voltage of 2.lkV, at which the deposited films are bombarded appropriately by the energetic secondary ions reflected from the target. As the extraction voltage increased or decreased from the optimum value, the crystallinity of thin films becomes poor owing to a weak and severe bombardment of the secondary ions, respectively. Crystallization due to the bombardment of the secondary ions was also maximized at the beam incidence angle of $55^{\circ}$. The as-deposited ferrite thin films with a spinel structure showed ferrimagnetism and had an in-plane magnetization easy axis.
In this study we investigated and tried to understand problems monitored in an experiment on reactivity of metals in chemistry I. Three problems were discussed. First, the reason that aluminium plate does not react with other metal ions such as zinc, iron and copper was studied and the way to overcome this problem was suggested. Second, the reason that the bubbles were generated when FeS$O_4$(aq) and Zn(s) react was discussed. Third, the precipitates which appeared in the reaction of FeS$O_4$(aq) and Zn(s) were identified. Through reference study and experimental investigation, we could reach the following results. First, aluminium could not react with other metal ions due to the surface oxide layer that is formed very fast and prevents aluminium from reacting with metal ions in solution. This problem could be overcome by allowing a competing reaction of acid and aluminium during the reaction of aluminium and metal ions. Second, the observed bubbles were identified to be hydrogen gas, produced by the reaction between metals and hydronium ion in the solution. Third, black precipitates that were produced on the surface of zinc plate and exhibited magnetic property were characterized to be $Fe_3O_4$(s), and brown precipitates that were produced in the solution phase were to be $Fe_2O_3$(s) by the analysis of X-ray photoelectron spectra.
$Cu_2ZnSn(S,Se)_4$ (CZTSSe) films were prepared on Mo coated soda lime glass substrates by sulfo-selenization of sputtered stacked Zn-Sn-Cu(CZT) precursor films. The precursor was dried in a capped state with aqueous NaOH solution. The CZT precursor films were sulfo-selenized in the S + Se vapor atmosphere. Sodium was doped during the sulfo-selenization treatment. The effect of sodium doping on the structural and electrical properties of the CZTSSe thin films were studied using FE-SEM(field-emission scanning electron microscopy), XRD(X-ray diffraction), XRF(X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy), dark current, SIMS(secondary ion mass spectrometry), conversion efficiency. The XRD, XRF, FE-SEM, Dark current, SIMS and cell efficiency results indicated that the properties of sulfo-selenized CZTSSe thin films were strongly related to the sodium doping. Further detailed analysis and discussion for effect of sodium doping on the properties CZTSSe thin films will be discussed.
Two methods for separation of the impurities from bismuth metal have been found by the use of Dowex $1{\times}4,$ anion exchange resins. The first method is that Dowex $1{\times}4$ resins are packed into the two stage columns (height of under stage is 22cm and upper stage is 3cm, and diameter of columns are 1.5cm), and the impurities of Pb(II), Ag(I) and Cu(II) are separated by the eluent of 7.5M HCl soln, Zn(II), Fe(III) by 0.5M HCl solns, and Te(IV) in the upper stage by 2M NaOH soln. Remained Au(III) in the upper stage is determined by the ignition with resins. The 2nd method is that for the separation of all the impurities simultaneously the same resins are packed into single stage column(height is 10cm and diameter is 1.5cm), and all the impurities of Pb(II), Zn(II), Cu(II), Fe(III) and Ag(I) are eluted by the eluent of 0.5M HCl soln. Separated impurities are determined by the colorimetry.
