  • To examine distribution of the Zostera species growing naturally in Ulleungdo, scuba diving surveys using ships were conducted along the coast and inside the harbors of the island at the end of September 2019. In areas of seagrass occurrence, environmental factors such as nutrient concentrations in water column and sediment pore water, salinity, and sediment organic content were also analyzed. Zostera caulescens meadows appeared in the relatively deep waters (14-24 m MSL) of Cheonbu-ri, Jeodong-ri, Sadong-ri, and Namyang-ri in Ulleungdo, and the total seagrass coverage was approximately 4.9 ha. Approximately 0.9 ha of Zostera marina meadow was found at the depths of 3-5 m MSL within Hyeonpo-hang in Hyeonpo-ri. The average shoot density and biomass of Z. caulescens were 121.9±9.7 shoot m-2 and 99.0±13.2 gDW m-2, respectively, with no significant differences by location. The average shoot density and biomass of Z. marina were 193.8±18.8 shoot m-2 and 102.6±6.8 gDW m-2, respectively. The nutrient concentrations in the sediment pore water and sediment organic content in the seagrass meadows in Ulleungdo were lower than those in eelgrass meadows on the southern and eastern coasts of Korea. These results will provide useful basic information for the marine protected species, Z. caulescens and Z. marina, and for the conservation of the waters of Ulleungdo, which has been designated as a marine protected area.

  • This study investigated the influence of composite resins with different elastic moduli and occlusal loading conditions on the stress distribution of restored notch-shaped non-carious cervical lesions (NCCL) using 3D finite element analysis. Two different materials, Tetric Flow and Z100, were used as representative flowable hybrid resins for the restoration of NCCL. A static point load of 500 N was applied at the buccal and palatal cusps. The ratios of stress reduction to energy dissipation were better in the compressive state than the tensile state regardless of the restorative material. The total dissipation ratios for Tetric Flow were 1.5% and 4.2% larger than those for Z100 under compression and tension, respectively. Therefore, tensile stress poses more of a risk for tooth fracture, and Tetric Flow is a more appropriate material for restoration.

  • The Exponentiated Gamma (EG) distribution is one of the important families of distributions in lifetime tests. In this paper, a new generalized version of this distribution which is called kumaraswamy Exponentiated Gamma (KEG) distribution is introduced. A new distribution is more flexible and has some interesting properties. A comprehensive mathematical treatment of the KEG distribution is provided. We derive the $r^{th}$ moment and moment generating function of this distribution. Moreover, we discuss the maximum likelihood estimation of the distribution parameters. Finally, an application to real data sets is illustrated.

  • Restorative procedures can lead to weakening tooth due to reduction and alteration of tooth structure. It is essential to prevent fractures to conserve tooth. Among the several parameters in cavity designs, cavity isthmus is very important. In this study, amalgam 0 cavity was prepared on maxillary first premolar. Two dimensional finite element models were made by serial photographic method and isthmus(1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 2/3 of intercuspal distance) were varied. Three or four-nodal mesh were used for the two dimensional finite element models. The periodontal ligament and alveolar bone surrounding the tooth were excluded in these models. 1S model was sound tooth with no amalgam cavity. B model was assumed perfect bonding between the restoration and cavity wall. Both compressive and tensile forces were distributed directly to the adjacent regions. A load of 500N was applied vertically at the first node from the lingual slope of the buccal cusp tip. This study analysed von Mises stress, 1 and 2 directional normal stress and Y and Z axis translation with FEM software Super SAPII Version 5.2 (Algor Interactive System Co.) and hardware 486 DX2 PC. The results were as :follows : 1. 1S model was slightly different with 1B model in stress distibution. 1S, 2B, 3B, 4B models showed similiar stress distribution. 2. 1S model and four B models showed similiar pattern in Y axis and Z axis translation. 3. 1S model and four B models showed the bending phenomenon in the translation. 4. As increasing of the width of the cavity, experimental group was similiar with the control group in stress distribution. 5. As increasing of the width of the cavity, experimental group was similiar with the control group in Y and Z axis tranlation.

  • We present the observed relationship between Eddington ratio (${\lambda}Edd$) and optical narrow-emission-line ratio ([NII] ${\lambda}6583/H{\alpha}$) of X-ray-selected unobscured active galactic nuclei (AGN) at 0.6 < z < 1.7 using 27 near-infrared spectra from the Fiber Multi-Object Spectrograph mounted on the Subaru telescope along with 26 additional sources from the literature. We show that the ${\lambda}Edd$ and [NII] ${\lambda}6583/H{\alpha}$ ratio at 0.6 < z < 1.7 exhibits a similar distribution of ${\lambda}Edd$-[NII] ${\lambda}6583/H{\alpha}$ anti-correlation that has been found for local ( = 0.036), hard X-ray selected AGN. The observed anti-correlation suggests that [N II] ${\lambda}6583/H{\alpha}$ optical narrow-line ratio in the AGN host galaxy may carry important information about the accretion state of the central supermassive black hole, suggesting the observational hint of consistent relationship from local to z ~ 1.7. Further study is necessary to determine whether the ${\lambda}Edd$-[N II] ${\lambda}6583/H{\alpha}$ correlation in high-redshift still holds at ${\log}{\lambda}Edd$ < -2 compared to local AGN.

  • Genetic analysis of body pigmentation pattern has been conducted by the reciprocal monohybrid and back crosses using the wild type zebrafish, Danio rerio, and its aquarium morphs (mutants), leopard danio. Also, the effect fo pigmentation mutation was investigated with regard to the survival rates of eggs and larvae for the first 15 days after fertilization. As a result, the pattern pigment distribution was inherited by a single gene having two alleles, and which was basically followed by the principle of dominace and segregaion in Mendelian inheritance. A locus for pigment pattern turned out to be located on an autosomal chromosome. Average survival rates estimated from the various crosses between, and within, wild type zebrafish and leopard danio were as follows ; they were 80.6${\pm}$4.8% from the crosses within leopard danios ($L{\times}L$), 70.6${\pm}$4.2% between leopard female and wild type male ($L{\times}Z$), 73.2${\pm}$2.0% between wild type female and leopard male ($Z{\times}L$), and 83.8${\pm}$6.7% within wild type zebrafish ($Z{\times}Z$). These results indicated that the leopard danio, which were reported as an "aquarium morph" several decades ago and also known as a mutant in pigmentation pattern of the wild type zebrafish, seemed to be genetically stable like the wild type of zebrafish.zebrafish.

  • Total temperature distribution in high speed fee & wall jet regions was investigated using the total temperature probe. For the free jet, the distance of probe from the nozzle exit is changed in the range of 1, 2, 4 and 6 times o nozzle exit diameter. Energy separation phenomenon was observed on shear layer between jet and ambient. In wall jet region, impinging plate was fixed at Z/D=2 and total temperature distribution has been measured for various radial distance($R/D=1.25\sim2.0$). Energy separation phenomenon was found at wall jet boundary and near wall, and was compared with measured adiabatic wall temperature value.

  • The purpose of this study is for the fundamental understandings about building morphological parameters and aerodynamic roughness parameters of Seoul, Korea using the detailed urban geographic information datasets. Applied roughness parameter calculations are based on a digital map of buildings with lot area polygons. The quality of the developed roughness length ($z_0$) of Seoul was evaluated with densely installed 107 automatic weather stations. The correlation coefficient results between averaged wind speeds of AWS data and averaged $z_0$ is -0.303 in night and -0.398 in day (200 m radii circles case). Further $z_0$ enhancement should follow by considering other surface features such as high tree and orography of Seoul. However, this study would meet the needs to for local- or meso-scale meteorological modeling applications of Seoul. However, further studies would require for enhancing the $z_0$ applications of Seoul.

  • This study examines the impact of bank competition and efficiency in the financial stability of the banking sector in Bangladesh. The study used the Lerner index and the Boone indicator to represent the bank competition, while the non-performing loan (NPL) and Z-score are used to represent financial stability. The secondary data were collected from the annual reports of 28 DSE listed commercial banks of Bangladesh over the period from 2011 to 2018. Using a dynamic panel GMM model, the study found the Lerner index is significantly negatively related with Z-score, which means that higher bank competition results in higher bank stability. It is also seen that higher cost efficiency results in higher bank stability. The Lerner index has negative, but insignificant impact on NPL. Similarly, using the Boone indicator, this study found that lower competition increases NPL. In terms of the Z-score, the Boone indicator found that 1 unit of increment results in decrease of the Z-score by 6.15 units. The study suggests that, as more competition results in more financial soundness, the banking industry competition should be ensured by policymakers or regulators. Banks could enhance financial stability by cost control to achieve cost efficiency as well as by improving loan-to-asset ratio.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship among the components of brand equity and to examine the effects of these components on the overall customer-based brand equity from the perspective of the Generation Z. This study is applied in the case of Borobudur World Heritage Destination, which is in Indonesia. A survey questionnaire has been collected through purposive sampling from 167 Generation Z who have visited Borobudur World Heritage Destination. The research hypotheses were supported by the empirical test using a Structural Equation Model with AMOS. The result concludes that destination brand awareness has significant, positive effects on destination brand image and perception of destination quality; destination brand image has positive influences on perception of destination quality and destination brand loyalty; perception of destination quality has significant, positive impacts on destination brand loyalty. Except for destination brand image and destination brand awareness, the perception of destination quality and destination brand loyalty have positive and direct impacts on overall destination brand equity. In sum, overall customer-based brand equity of a world heritage destination in the context of a developing economy is directly influenced by only two components of brand equity, namely, the perception of destination quality and destination brand loyalty.
