Distribution Characteristics of Woody Plants Resources in Jeiu, Korea (제주도 목본식물자원의 분포특성)

  • In this paper, it was discussed situations and necessities of conservation management strategy for the woody plants resources in Jeju Island. Out of 320 taxa of the woody plants distributed in Jeju, there were 62 families, 136 genus, 279 species, 28 varieties and 13 forma. Conifers, gymnosperms, were 3 families, 5 genus and 7 species as holding 2.2% of total woody plants. Broad leaves, angiosperms, were 59 families, 131 genus, 272 species, 28 varieties and 13 forma that were 313 taxa. Evergreens were 84 taxa consisting of 31 families, 45 genus, 72 species, 7 varieties and 5 forma that make up 26.8% out of total angiosperms. Deciduous were 229 taxa(73.2%) consisting of 42 families, 93 genus, 200 species, 21 varieties and 8 forma that were 122 trees(38.1%), 177 shrubs(55.1%) and 21 vine plants(6.8%). Life form spectra by dormancy, disseminule, radicoid and growth form were analysed. Thirty eight taxa including 17 families, 21 genus, 14 species and 16 varieties out of 320 taxa growing Jeju were endemic to Korea and 22 taxa of them were endemic to Jeju. The specific plant species among the woody plants in Jeju were 10 taxa in V grade, 24 taxa in IV grade and 53 taxa in III grade. These are correspondence to those of nations as 12% of V grade, 7.6% of IV grade and 17.2% of III grade.

Study on the Suitability of Composite Materials for Enhancement of Automotive Fuel Economy (자동차 연비향상을 위한 복합재료 적용 타당성에 관한 연구)

  • In the present paper, the dynamic force-moment equilibrium equations, driving power and energy equations are analyzed to formulate the equation for fuel economy(km/liter) equivalent to the driving distance (km) divided by the fuel volume (liter) of the vehicle, a selected model of gasoline powered KIA K3 (1.6v). In addition, the effects of the dynamic parameters such as speed of vehicle (V), vehicle total weight(M), rolling resistance ($C_r$) between tires and road surface, inclined angle of road (${\theta}$), as well as the aerodynamic parameters such as drag coefficient ($C_d$) of vehicle, air density(${\rho}$), cross-sectional area (A) of vehicle, wind speed ($V_w$) have been analyzed. And the possibility of alternative materials such as lightweight metal alloys, fiber reinforced plastic composite materials to replace the conventional steel and casting iron materials and to reduce the weight of the vehicle has been investigated by Ashby's material index method. Through studies, the following results were obtained. The most influencing parameters on the fuel economy at high speed zone (100 km/h) were V, the aerodynamic parameters such as $C_d$, A, ${\rho}$, and $C_r$ and M. While at low speed zone (60 km/h), they are, in magnitude order, dynamic parameters such as V, M, $C_r$ and aerodynamic ones such as $C_d$, A, and ${\rho}$, respectively.

  • The characteristics of cyanide decomposition in aqueous phase by electric oxidization have been explored in an effort to develop a process to recycle waste water. Considering current efficiency and voltage, the free cyanide decomposition experiment by electric oxidization indicated that 5 V of voltage and copper catalytic Cu/CN mole ratio 0.05 was the most appropriate condition, where current efficiency was 26%, and decomposition speed was 5.6 mM/min. High voltage and excess copper addition increased decomposition speed a little bit but not current efficiency. The experiment of free cyanide density change proves that high density cyanide is preferred because speed and current efficiency increase with density. Also, the overall decomposition reaction could be represented by the first order with respcect to cyanide with the rate constant of $1.6∼7.3${\times}$10^{-3}$ $min^{-1}$ The mass transfer coefficient of electric oxidization of cyanide came out as $2.42${\times}$10^{-5}$ $min^{-1}$ Furthermore, the Damkohler number was calculated as 5.7 in case of 7 V and it was found that the mass transfer stage was the rate determining step.

  • The quality of railroad trackbed fills has been controlled by field measurements of density and bearing resistance of plate-load tests. The control measures are compatible with the design procedures whose design parameter is $k_{30}$ for both ordinary-speed railways and high-speed railways. However, one of fatal flaws of the design procedures is that there are no simple laboratory measurement procedures for the design parameters ($k_{30}$ or, $E_{v2}$ and $E_{v2}/E_{v1}$) in design stage. To overcome the defect, the compressional wave velocity was adopted as a control measure, in parallel with the advent of the new design procedure, and its measurement technique was proposed in the preliminary investigation. The key concept of the quality control procedure is that the target value for field compaction control is the compressional wave velocity determined at optimum moisture content using modified compaction test, and direct-arrival method is used for the field measurements during construction, which is simple and reliable enough for practice engineers to access. This direct-arrival method is well-suited for such a shallow and homogeneous fill lift in terms of applicability and cost effectiveness. The sensitivity of direct-arrival test results according to the compaction quality was demonstrated at a test site, and it was concluded that compressional wave velocity can be effectively used as quality control measure. The experimental background far the companion study (Park et al., 2009) was established through field and laboratory measurements of the compressional wave velocity.

Adsorptive Catalytic Wave of Chromium-Cupferron Complex (크롬-쿠페론 착물의 흡착 촉매파)

  • The interfacial accumulation of the chromium-cupferron complex and the catalytic wave of its redox process is characterized by cyclic voltammetry. One cathodic peak is observed in the forward scan at -1.45 V. Scanning in the reverse direction produces a inverted peak at -1.39 V, which is indicative of a catalytic process. The optimal conditions of inverted peak were found to be 1 mM borate buffer solution(pH 9.48) containing $1{\times}10^{-4}M$ cupferron, holding potential of -1.8 V and scan rate of 20 mV/s. Using main peak, a preconcentration time of 1 min results in a detection limit of $3.2{\times}10^{-10}M$.

  • In this study, the visualization of the unsteady flow field of a Weis-Fogh-type water turbine was investigated using particle-image velocimetry. The visualization experiments were performed in a parameter range that provided relatively high-efficiency wing conditions, that is, at a wing opening angle ${\alpha}=40^{\circ}$ and at a velocity ratio of the uniform flow to the moving wing U/V = 1.5~2.5. The flow fields at the opening, translational, and closing stages were investigated for each experimental parameter. In the opening stage, the fluid was drawn in between the wing and wall at a velocity that increased with an increase in the opening angle and velocity ratio. In the translational stage, the fluid on the pressure face of the wing moved in the direction of the wing motion, and the boundary layer at the back face of the wing was the thinnest and had a velocity ratio of 2.0. In the closing stage, the fluid between the wing and wall was jetted at a velocity that increased as the opening angle decreased; however, the velocity was independent of the velocity ratio.

에이 : 오.티 -이소옥탄 역미셀계에서의 리파제의 특성과 이 효소에 의한 유지의 가수분해

  • 이온성 계면활성제 존재하에서 유기용매에 물을 첨가하면 물이 계면활성제에 약해 둘러싸이면서 유기용매에 용해되어 의사 이상계가 형성된다. 이러한 계를 역미셀 또는 W/O microemulsion이라고 하며 계면활성제로 둘러 쌓인 물분자 집하체를 water pool이라고 한다. 그런데, 10여년 전 water pool에 bipolymer를 용해시킬 수 있다는 사실이 밟혀짐에 따라 이러한 체계를 생체막을 단순화시킨 모형막으로서 막을 통해 일어나는 여러 가지 현상의 규명에 이용하거나 물에 불용성인 기질의 효소 촉매반응의 반응계로 이용하는 연구가 꾸준히 이루어져 있다. 본 강연은 역미셀계에 리파제를 용해시켜 유지의 가수분해를 유도함으로써 지방산을 생산하는 방법에 관한 연구이다. 역미셀계에서 리파제의 특성은 에멀전계와 비교했을 때 큰 차이가 없었으며 물과 계면활성제의 몰 비율(R값)은 효소의 초기반응 속도에 커다란 영향을 끼치는 인자로 나타났다. 올리브유 농도가 5%(v/v), AOT농도가 0.1M, 초기 물 농도가 1.0M의 조건에서 유지의 회분식 가수분해 실험을 행한 결과 이 기질은 거의 완전히 가수분해되었으며, 이 반응계에서 R값과 초기 물 농도는 반응의 평형에 커다란 영향을 끼치는 것으로 나타났는데 초기 물 농도가 증가할수록 평형 가수분해율은 증가하였단 이러한 결과를 반응속도론 측면에서 분석한 결과 역미셀계에서 리파제 반응은 에멀전계에서와는 달리 2차 반응을 따르는 것으로 나타났다. 물 농도가 평형 가수 분해율과 속도 변수에 끼치는 영향을 수학적으로 표시하기 위하여 2차 가역적 반응 속도론에 근거하여 가수분해율, 평형상수, 속도상수 둥을 나타내는 식을 유도하였고 이를 바탕으로 여러 가지 실험 조건 하에서 리파제 반응의 반응 시간에 따른 가수분해율을 예측한 결과는 실제 실험 결과와 잘 일치하였다(편차는 5%). 또한 속도상수와 R값과의 관계식 및 유도한 방정식을 이용하여 추정한 초기속도와 평형 가수분해율을 최대화하는 R값은 각각 10.4 와 11.4 였다.

Effects of Temperature and Pressure on the Reaction of [Pt(dien)X]$^+$ with ${NO_2}^-$ Aqueous Solutions (수용액에서 [Pt(dien)X]$^+$${NO_2}^-$와의 치환반응에 미치는 온도 및 압력변화)

  • Kinetics of the substitution reaction of [pt[dien]X]$^+$(X = $Cl^-$, $Br^-$, $I^-$) with NO2- in aqueous solution were investigated by a spectrophotometric method at $20-35^{\circ}C$ and 1-1500 bars. The rates of these reactions were increased with raising temperature and pressure. The relative reactivities of replaceable ligands in [pt[dien]X]$^+$ follow the order ($Cl^-$ > $Br^-$ > $I^-$). Activation volumes (${\mid}{\Delta}V^{\neq}{\mid}$) were large negative values and decreased with raising temperature. First ($k_1$) and second($k_2$) order rate constants of these reactions were determined at $25^{\circ}C$ and both $k_1$ and $k_2$ were increased with raising pressure and activation volumes (${\Delta}{V_1}^{\neq}$, ${\Delta}{V_2}^{\neq}$) for the $k_1$ and $k_2$ path were large negative values respectively. The $k_1$ and $k_2$ of these reactions were determined at 1 bar and these values were increased with raising temperature. Activation parameters of $k_1$ and $k_2$ path were determined, therefore it can be inferred frp, these results that the substitution reactions of [pt[dien]X]$^+$ with ${NO_2}^-$ proceed through on associative (A) mechanism independent of a leaving groups and reaction paths.

High Temperature Deformation Behavior of Microalloyed Hot Forging Steels (열간 단조용 비조질강의 고온 변형 거동에 관한 연구)

  • The high temperature deformation behavior of microalloyed hot forging steels has been examined as a function of the temperature, the strain rate, and the alloying element by using high temperature compression test. The high temperature deformation mechanism, which was obtained by analyzing the flow stress-strain curve and microstructure, could be considered to dynamic recrystallization. The peak stress of Nb-V-Mo steel was more increased and the dynamic recrystallization of Nb-V-Mo steel was faster than those of Nb-V steel. The peak stress of 1.2Mn-0.09Nb steel was more increased and the dynamic recrystallization of 1.2Mn-0.09Nb was delayed a little bit than those of 1.0Mn-0.05Nb. The peak stress of C-Nb-V steel was more increased and the dynamic recrystallization of C-Nb-V steel was delayed than those of C-steel. The constitutive equation of high temperature deformation had a power law type. The grain size of dynamic recrystallization was refined as the Zener-Hollomon parameter was increased. The relation of the dynamic recrystallization grain size and Zener-Hollomon parameter could be quantified to power law.

Spherical Indentation Testing to Evaluate Mechanical Properties in 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V Steel (구형압입시험에 의한 1Cr-1Mo-O.25V강의 기계적 물성 평가)

  • For the experimental study of rotor steel, seven kind of specimens with different degradation levels were prepared by isothermal heat treatment at $630^{\circ}C$. Spherical indentation technique was developed to evaluate the flow properties of metallic materials in carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloys, etc. Through the spherical indentation test, differently degraded 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V steel's mechanical properties were observed and compared with conventional standard test data. The flow properties of 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V steel's were estimated by analyzing the indentation load-depth curve. To characterize the flow property, we used material yield slope and constraint factor index rather than strain-hardening exponent because the variation of strain-hardening exponent was very little and the data showed irregularly. And the constraint factor's effect was small when the material yield slope was taken into account.
