Anatase particles of titanium dioxide were prepared from $TiCl_4$ aqueous solution by using an electro-dialysis [ED] process. For the preparation of an aqueous solution of $TiCl_4$ precipitates, $TiCl_4$ liquid frozen in ice was transferred to a neck flask and then hydrolyzed using deionized [DI] $H_2O$. During the hydrolysis of the $TiCl_4$ solution at $0^{\circ}C$, a slurry solution of $TiOCl_2$ was obtained and the color changed from red to orange. The ED process was applied for the removal of chlorine content in the slurry solution. Two kinds of hydrolyzed slurry solution with lower [$Ti^{4+}$] and higher [$Ti^{4+}$] were sampled and the ED process was applied for the samples according to the removal time of [$Cl^-$]. With de-chlorination, the solution status changed from sol to gel and the color quickly changed to blue. Finally, white crystalline powders were formed and the phase was confirmed by XRD to be anatase crystallites. The morphology of the hydrous titania particles in the solution was observed by FE-SEM. The hydrous titania particles were nano-crystalline, and easily coagulated with drying.

In this study, Sol-Gel derived $(Ba_{0.7}Sr_{0.3})TiO_3$ thin films were fabricated and investigated. The stock solution was synthesized and spin-coated on Pt/Ti/$SiO_2$/Si substrate at 4000(rpm] and then, annealed at $650{\sim}750[^{\circ}C]$. Crystallization condition, microstructural properties and interfacial structure were observed by XRD, AFM, SEM and TEM. It was found that the BST thin films were completely crystallized at 750[$^{\circ}C$] and showed nano-sized grains. The dielectric constant and loss of the BST thin films were 220, 0.01 at 1[kHz] respectively. Increasing the temperature, the dielectric constant and loss characteristics were not varied widely. At the applied voltage of 1.5[V], the leakage current density was under the $10^{-9}[A/cm^2]$.

This study describes the preparation of high-performance photocatalyst and its environmental applications. We prepared visible-light response nano-particle photocatalyst exhibiting the similar photocatalytic activity with $TiO_2$, dispersed $TiO_2$ on $SiO_2$ with an active rutile type titanium oxide prepared at low temperature. The binder and stable photocatalytic $TiO_2$ sol for photocatalytic system were also prepared. Such products were evaluated by UV/Vis spectrometer, X-ray diffraction analysis, SEM, measurement of photocatalytic activities and surface area, mechanical properties of $TiO_2$-coated surfaces. The results obtained can be applied in efficient photocatalytic systems using POF and metal plate for the purification of air.
In this study, nano sized colloidal Ag was made by using a seed sol method. Colloidal Ag solution was spouted on the surface of the inorganic pigment using the hybridizer system and spray nozzle. Then, the surface of the inorganic pigment was modified by $TiO_2$ to obtain the antibacterial ability. In the manufacturing process of nano sized colloidal Ag, it was confirmed that the size of particles increased by addition of $AgNO_3$ and increased the reaction time. The antibacterial measurement of the inorganic pigment showed that the growth of fungus decreased as the reaction time was increased. After the antibacterial ability appeared, in 5~7 h of the antibacterial inoculation experiment, it was measured that the antibacterial activity was excellent at a fixed time frame. The photodecomposition of benzene using $TiO_2$ as the photocatalyst showed 60~70% efficiency in about 80 min. reaction time. It was shown that more than 90% of this efficiency was achieved in the reaction time of about 30 min.

The proposed stretchable transparent electrodes based on silver nanowires (AgNWs) were prepared on a polyurethane (PU) substrate. In order toavoid the surface roughness caused by the silver nanowires, a titanium oxide ($TiO_2$) buffer layer was addedby coating and heating the organometallic sol-gel solution. The fabricated stretchable electrodes showedan electrical sheet resistance of $24{\Omega}sq^{-1}$, 78% transmittance at 550 nm, and an average surface roughness below 5 nm. Furthermore, the AgNW-based electrode maintained its initial electrical resistance under 130% strain testing conditions, without the assistance of additional conductive polymer layers. In this paper, the critical role of the $TiO_2$ buffer layer between the AgNW network and the PU substrate has been discussed.

$CeO_2$ is used as a co-catalyst with $TiO_2$ to improve the catalytic activity of $MnO_x$ and characterization of nano-sized powder is identified with de-NOx efficiency. A comparison between $MnO_x-CeO_2/TiO_2$ and single $CeO_2$ was conducted in terms of microstructural analysis to observe the behavior of $CeO_2$ in the ternary catalyst. The $MnO_x-CeO_2/TiO_2$ catalyst was synthesized by sol-gel method and the average particle size of the single $CeO_2$ is about $285{\mu}m$ due to the low thermal stability, whereas the particle size $MnO_x-CeO_2/TiO_2$ is about 130 nm. The strong interaction between Ce and Ti was identified through the EDS mapping by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The improvement about 20 % of $de-NO_x$ efficiency is observed in the low-temperature ($150^{\circ}C{\sim}250^{\circ}C$) and vigorous oxygen exchange by well-dispersed $CeO_2$ is the reason of catalytic activity improvement.
Carbon spheres (CS) were fabricated using glucose as a precursor in the hydrothermal method. Hollow TiO2 (H-TiO2) spheres with 200 nm, 500 nm, and 1,200 nm were synthesized by CS/TiO2 core-shell particles via a sol-gel and calcination method. H-TiO2 spheres with nano and micron sizes were characterized using FE-SEM, HR-TEM, and X-ray diffraction. The CIE color coordinate, solar reflectance, and heat shield temperatures of H-TiO2/polyacrylate (PA) composite film were investigated using a UV-Vis-NIR spectrometer and homemade heat insulation temperature measuring device. H-TiO2/PA composites exhibit excellent thermal insulation since the hollow structure filled with dry air has low thermal conductivity and near infrared light reflecting performance. The thermal insulation increased with increasing the hollow sphere (HS) size on H-TiO2/PA composites. The PA composite film mixed with H-TiO2 filled with 1200 nm HS reduced the heat shield temperature by 26 ℃ compared to that of the transparent glass counterpart.

Cerium doped anatase titania powders were prepared by sol-gel process, with ammonium (IV) nitrate and Titanium (IV) butoxide as the raw materials. The characteristics of anatase $TiO_2$ and cerium doped $TiO_2$ were investigated by XRD, DTA, FE-SEM and UV/Vis spectroscopy. Research results indicated that XRD data characteristic diffraction peaks of anatase phase and also showed that cerium phase was not observed. Moreover XRD and DTA results imply that the addition of cerium to titania modifies the mechanism of formation of the titania phases.
In this study, an organic-inorganic hybrid composite of Abaca nanocellulose and titanium dioxide was prepared. Abaca nanocellulose was prepared by oxidizing Abaca cellulose using TEMPO (2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-piperidine-1-oxyl) as a catalyst. Titanium dioxide nanoparticles were prepared by the sol-gel method, and a composite was prepared by hybridizing them with nanocellulose. As a result of comparing the properties of the composite and its physical properties according to the change in manufacturing pH, the effect of pH was very large when combining nanocellulose and titanium dioxide, and the optimal bonding performance was shown at pH 8 in this experimental condition. In addition, the prepared composite showed photocatalytic properties, and the higher the content of titanium dioxide, the higher the hydrophilicity of the composite according to UV light irradiation.
Hollow silica spheres were prepared by spray drying of precursor solution of colloidal silica. The precursor solution is composed of 10-20 nm colloidal silica dispersed in a water or ethanol-water mixture solvent with additives of tris hydroxymethyl aminomethane. The effect of pH and concentrations of the precursor and additives on the formation of hollow sphere particles was studied. The spray drying process parameters of the precursor feeding rate, inlet temperature, and gas flow rate are controlled to produce the hollow spherical silica. The mixed solvent of ethanol and water was preferred because it improved the hollowness of the spheres better than plain water did. It was possible to obtain hollow silica from high concentration of 14.3 wt% silica precursor with pH 3. The thermal conductivity and total solar reflectivity of the hollow silica sample was measured and compared with those values of other commercial insulating fillers of glass beads and $TiO_2$ for applications of insulating paint, in which the glass beads are representative of the low thermal conductive fillers and the $TiO_2$ is representative of infrared reflective fillers. The thermal conductivity of hollow silica was comparable to that of the glass beads and the total solar reflectivity was higher than that of $TiO_2$.
