  • The phase-shift method and correlation constants for studying a linear relationship between the behavior ($-{\varphi}\;vs.\;E$) of the phase shift ($0^{\circ}{\leq}-{\varphi}{\leq}90^{\circ}$) for the optimum intermediate frequency and that (${\theta}\;vs.\;E$) of the fractional surface coverage ($1{\geq}\theta{\geq}0$) have been proposed and verified to determine the Langmuir, Frumkin, and Temkin adsorption isotherms (${\theta}\;vs.\;E$) at noble metal/aqueous electrolyte interfaces. At an Ir/0.1 M KOH aqueous electrolyte interface, the Langmuir and Temkin adsorption isotherms (${\theta}\;vs.\;E$), equilibrium constants ($K=3.3{\times}10^{-4}\;mol^{-1}$ for the Langmuir and $K=3.3{\times}10^{-3}{\exp}(-4.6{\theta})\;mol^{-1}$ for the Temkin adsorption isotherm), interaction parameter (g = 4.6 for the Temkin adsorption isotherm), and standard free energies (${\Delta}G_{ads}^0=19.9kJ\;mol^{-1}\;for\;K=3.3{\times}10^{-4}\;mol^{-1}$ and $16.5<{\Delta}G_{\theta}^0<23.3\;kJ\;mol^{-1}\;for\;K=3.3{\times}10^{-3}{\exp}(-4.6{\theta})\;mol^{-1}\;and\;0.2<\theta<0.8$) of H for the cathodic $H_2$ evolution reaction are determined using the phase-shift method and correlation constants. The inhomogeneous and lateral interaction effects on the adsorption of H are negligible. At the intermediate values of ${\theta},\;i.e,\;0.2<{\theta}<0.8$, the Temkin adsorption isotherm (${\theta}\;vs.\;E$) correlating with the Langmuir or the Frumkin adsorption isotherm (${\theta}\;vs.\;E$), and vice versa, is readily determined using the correlation constants. The phase-shift method and correlation constants are accurate and reliable techniques to determine the adsorption isotherms (${\theta}\;vs.\;E$) and related electrode kinetic and thermodynamic parameters(K, g, ${\Delta}G_{ads}^0, {\Delta}G_{\theta}^0$).

  • In this paper, we are interested in studying weak covering properties in the presence of a countable compact condition. The purpose of this paper is to characterize an ideal weakly $\delta$$\theta$-refinable space and to show that every ideal weakly $\delta$$\theta$-refinable space is isocompact. Also, we consider the behavior under mappings of ideal weakly $\delta$$\theta$-refinable properties and productivity of ideal weakly $\delta$$\theta$-refinable properties.

  • In this paper, we have developed a non-homogeneous q-difference equation of first order for the generalized Mock theta function of order eight and besides these established limiting case of Mock theta functions of order eight. We have also established identities for Partial Mock theta function and Mock theta function of order eight and provided a number of cases of the identities.

  • In [1], the concept of generalized (${\theta}$, ${\phi}$)-derivations on rings was introduced. In this paper, we introduce the concept of generalized (${\theta}$, ${\phi}$)-derivations on Poisson Banach algebras and of generalizd (${\theta}$, ${\phi}$)-derivations on Jordan Banach algebras, and prove the Cauchy-Rassias stability of generalized (${\theta}$, ${\phi}$)-derivations on Poisson Banach algebras and of generalized (${\theta}$, ${\phi}$)-derivations on Jordan Banach algebras.

  • Let $0 < \alpha < 2$ and let $T_\alpha (\theta) = \alpha tan(\theta/2)$. $T_\alpha$ has an attractive fixed point at $\theta = 0$. We denote by $C(\alpha)$ the set of points in $I = [-\pi, \pi]$ which are not attracted to $\theta = 0$ by the succesive iterations of $T_\alpha$. That is, $C(\alpha)$ is the set of points in I where the dynamics of $T_\alpha$ is chaotic.

  • Nakaoka and Oda ([1] and [2]) introduced the notion of maximal open sets and minimal closed sets in topological spaces. In this paper, we introduce new classes of sets called maximal $\theta$-open sets, minimal $\theta$-closed sets, $\theta$-semi maximal open and $\theta$-semi minimal closed and investigate some of their fundamental properties.

  • For two even unimodular positive definite integral quadratic forms A[X], B[X] in n-variables, J. K. Koo [1, Theorem 1] showed that ${\theta}_A(\tau)/{\theta}_B(\tau)$ is a rational function of J, satisfying a certain condition. Where ${\theta}_A(\tau)$ and ${\theta}_B(\tau)$ are theta series related to A[X] and B[X], respectively, and J is the classical modular invariant. In this paper we give a simple proof of Theorem 1 of [1].

  • Zwegers showed that a mock theta function can be completed to form essentially a real analytic modular form of weight 1/2 by adding a period integral of a certain weight 3/2 unary theta series. This theta series is related to the holomorphic modular form called the shadow of the mock theta function. In this paper, we discuss the computation of shadows of the second order mock theta functions and show that they share the same shadow with a mock theta function which appears in the Mathieu moonshine phenomenon.

  • The problem of information related to I poission experiments, each having a distinct failure rate $\theta$i I=1,2,…,I, is considered. Instead of using a standard exchangeable prior for $\theta$=($\theta$1,$\theta$2,…,$\theta$I), we consider a partition of the experiments and take the $\theta$i's belonging to the same partition subgroup to be exchangeable and the $\theta$i's belonging to distinct subgroups to be independent. And we perform Gibbs sampling approach for Bayesian inference on $\theta$ conditional on a partition. Numerical study using real data is provided.
