Infinite 1-D and 3-D Nets with Two Different Zinc and Terbium Coordination Polymers.

  • The hydrothermal reaction of Zn(NO₃)₂6H₂O with benzene-1,3-dicarboxylic acid (or isophthalic acid, 1,3-BDCH₂) and pyridine led to the formation of a 1-dimensional coordination polymer with the empirical formula of [Zn₄(1,3-BDC)₃(Py)₂(O/sup 2-/)] (1). On the other hand, the hydrothermal reaction of Tb(NO₃)₃5H₂O with benzene-1,3-dicarboxylic acid (or isophthalic acid, 1,3-BDCH₂) and pyridine gave a 3-D compound [Tb₃(1,3-BDC)₂(H₂O₃] (2). The structures of both compounds have been determined by X-ray diffraction. 1 crystallizes in the monoclinlc space group P2₁/n, a = 10.344(3) Å, b = 18.030(3) Å, c = 18.033(3) Å, = 90.46(2)°, V = 3363.1(13) ,ų, Z = 4. 2 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/n, a = 22.253(5) Å, b = 18.672(4) Å, c = 11.5812 Å, = 101.40(2)°, V = 4717.3(21) ų, Z = 8.

더러브렛 말의 혈액형에 관한 연구 (Studies on blood types in Thoroughbred horses)

  • The present study was carried out to investigate the blood markers of Thoroughbred horses (TB) The blood red cell types and blood protein types (biochemical polymorphisms) were tested from 1,125 Thoroughbred horses by serological and electrophoretic procedures, and their phenotypes, gene frequencies, heterozygosity, polymorphic information content values and exclusion probability were estimated. The blood group and biochemical polymorphism phenotypes observed with high frequency were Aaf(91.7%), Ca(94.7%), K-(94.5%), Ua(75.9%), P-(50.6%), Qabc(82.6%), ALB-BB(67.7%), GC-FF(92.7%), AIB-KK(99.6%), ES-II(77.9%), TF-DF1(23.6%), PI-LL(23.2%), HB-B2B2(73.6%), PGD-FS(45.4%) and genotypes Dcgm/dk(16.9%), Dbcm/cgm(13.6%), Dbcm/dk(11.9%), Dcegmn/cegmn(10.0%), Dcgm/cgm(8.7%) in TB. Alleles observed with high frequency were Aaf(0.796), Ca(0.769), Ddk(0.266), Dcgm(0.261), Dbcm(0.211), K-(0.972), P-(0.710), Qabc(0.565), Q-(0.368), Ua(0.509), $HB^{B2}$(0.858), $PGD^F$(0.634), $ALB^B$(0.825), $GC^F$(0.927), $AIB^K$(0.998), $ES^I$(0.881), $TF^{F1}$(0.346), $TF^D$(0.319), $TF^{F2}$(0.184), $PI^L$(0.479), $PI^N$(0.214), $PI^U$(0.116) in TB. The heterozygosity, polymorphic information content (PIC) and exclusion probability (PE) were calculated. The mean heterozygosity and PIC value were 0.3899 and 0.3375, respectively. The highest heterozygosity and PIC were estimated 0.7834 and 0.7492 in blood group D locus, respectively. The cumulated PE obtained by blood groups and biochemical polymorphisms was 0.9813.

  • In this note, we obtain the expression of the characteristic fucntion of the random variable $\int_o^TB_s^{{\alpha},{\beta}}dB_s^{H,K}$, where $B^{{\alpha},{\beta}}$ and $B^{H,K}$ are two independent bifractional Brownian motions with indices ${\alpha}{\in}(0,1),{\beta}{\in}(0, 1]$ and $HK{\in}(\frac{1}{2},\;1)$ respectively.

Synthesis and photoluminescence of Ca3Si3O8F2: Ce4+, Eu3+, Tb3+ phosphor

  • $Ce^{4+}$, $Eu^{3+}$, $Tb^{3+}$ co-doped $Ca_3Si_3O_8F_2$ phosphor was synthesized via solid state reaction method using $CaF_2$, $CaCO_3$ and $SiO_2$ as raw materials for the host and $Eu_2O_3$, $CeO_2$, and $Tb_4O_7$ as activators. The luminescent properties of the phosphor was analysed by spectrofluorophotometer at room temperature. The effect of excitation wavelengths on the luminescent properties of the phosphor i.e. under near-ultraviolet (nUV) and visible excitations was investigated. The emission peaks of $Ce^{4+}$, $Eu^{3+}$, $Tb^{3+}$ co-doped $Ca_3Si_3O_8F_2$ phosphor lays at 480(blue band), 550(green band) and 611nm (red band) under 380nm excitation wavelength, attributed to the $Ce^{4+}$ ion, $Tb^{3+}$ ion and $Eu^{3+}$ ions respectively. The results reveal that the phosphor emits white light upon nUV (380nm) / visible (465nm) illumination, and a red light upon 395nm / 535nm illumination. RE ions doped $Ca_3Si_3O_8F_2$ is a promising white light phosphor for LEDs. The emission colours can be seen using Commission international de l'eclairage (CIE) co-ordinates. A single host phosphor emitting different colours under different excitations indicates that it is a potential phosphor having applications in many fields.

소 림프절에서 Mycobacterium bovis DNA의 신속 검출과 M. bovis와 M. tuberculosis 감별을 위한 real-time PCR 개발 (Development of real-time PCR for rapid detection of Mycobacterium bovis DNA in cattle lymph nodes and differentiation of M. bovis and M. tuberculosis)

  • Mycobacterium bovis, a member of the M. tuberculosis complex (MTC), is the causative agent of bovine tuberculosis. Detection of M. bovis and M. tuberculosis using conventional culture- and biochemical-based assays is time-consuming. Therefore, a simple and sensitive molecular assay for rapid detection would be of great help in specific situations such as faster diagnosis of bovine tuberculosis (bTB) infection in the abattoirs. We developed a novel multiplex real-time PCR assay which was applied directly to biological samples with evidence of bTB and it was allowed to differentiate between M. bovis and M. tuberculosis. The primers and TaqMan probes were designed to target the IS1081 gene, the multi-copy insertion element in the MTC and the 12.7-kb fragment which presents in M. tuberculosis, not in the M. bovis genome. The assay was optimized and validated by testing 10 species of mycobacteria including M. bovis and M. tuberculosis, and 10 other bacterial species such as Escherichia coli, and cattle lymph nodes (n=113). The tests identified 96.4% (27/28) as M. bovis from the MTC-positive bTB samples using conventional PCR for specific insertion elements IS1081. And MTC-negative bTB samples (n=85) were tested using conventional PCR and the real-time PCR. When comparative analyses were conducted on all bovine samples, using conventional PCR as the gold standard, the relative accuracy of real-time PCR was 99.1%, the relative specificity was 100%, and the agreement quotient (kappa) was 0.976. The detection limits of the real-time PCR assays for M. bovis and M. tuberculosis genomic DNA were 10 fg and 0.1 pg per PCR reaction, respectively. Consequently, this multiplex real-time PCR assay is a useful diagnotic tool for the identification of MTC and differentiation of M. bovis and M. tuberculosis, as well as the epidemiologic surveillance of animals slaughtered in abattoir.

Expression and Characterization of Uropathogenic Escherichia coli Adhesin Protein Linked to Cholera Toxin A2B Subunits in Escherichia coli TB1

  • The FimH subunit of type 1-fimbriated Escherichiu coli (E. coli) has been determined as a major cause for urinary tract infections. Thus, to produce a possible vaccine antigen against urinary tract infections, the fimIH gene was genetically coupled to the ctxa2b gene and cloned into a pMAL-p2E expression vector. The chimeric construction of pMALfimH/ctxa2b was then transformed into E. coli K-12 TB1 and its nucleotide sequence was verified. A fusion protein, based on fusing adhesin to the cholera toxin subunit A2B (CTXA2B), was induced with 0.01 mM isopropyl-${\beta}-D-thiogalactoside$ (IPTG) for 4 h at $37^{\circ}C$ to yield a soluble fusion protein. The fusion protein was then purified by affinity chromatography. The expressed fusion protein was confirmed by SDS-PAGE and Western blotting using antibodies to the maltose binding protein (MBP) or the cholera toxin subunit B (CTXB), plus the N-terminal amino acid sequence was also analyzed. The orderly-assembled fusion protein was confirmed by a modified $G_{Ml}-ganglioside$ ELISA, using antibodies to adhesin. The results indicated that the purified fusion protein was an adhesin/CTXA2B protein containing E. coli adhesin and the $G_{Ml}-ganglioside$ binding activity of CTXB. Accordingly, this adhesin/CTXA2B protein may be a potential antigen for oral immunization against uropathogenic E. coli.

  • The values of crystalline-electric-field parameters $A_{nm}$ for $RFe_{11}$Ti $H_{x}$ (R=Tb,Ho) (x=0,l) are obtained by fitting calculations to the magnetization curves along the crystal axes at 4.2 K and higher temperatures. The insertion of H element in RFe$_{11}$Ti significantly affects CEF parameters $A_{nm}$ . By using exchange field 2${\mu}$$_{B}$ $H_{ex}$ derived by inelastic neutron scattering and fitted $A_{nm}$ , the calculations reproduce the experimental curves well.

Phosphodiesterase-억제제와 항우울성 약물들의 Thrombin성 혈소판-응집반응에 미치는 억제작용에 관한 연구

  • 항우울약인 rolipran(RP)등 phosphodiesterase-억제 약(PDE-1)들이 thrombin(TB: 0.25 U/ml)에 의한 혈소판 응집에 미치는 작용을 가토-혈소판에서 일차 검토하였다. 신 PDE-1인 KR-30075(KR)의 $IC_{50}$/은 sodim nitroprusside의 것보다 낮았고 PDE-1들은 혈소판내 cAMP와 cGMP를 증가시켰으며 특히 KR은 타 PDE-1와 달리 I $P_3$를 감소시켰다. 아울러 rolipram은 cGMP와 I $P_3$를 증가시켰으나, amitriptyline(AT), sertraline(57), chlorpromazine(CP) 및 spermine은 I $P_3$를 증가시켰다. 그러나 이들과 PDE-1들은 강도의 차이는 있으나 모두 TB에 의한 혈소판응집을 모두 억제하였다. 따라서, PDE-1 중 IBMX(2$\times$$10^{-5}$M), KR(5$\times$10$_-7/M), 및 rolipram(10$_{-3}$M) 그 외에 항우울약인 AT(1.5 $\times$10$_-4/M) 와 ST(10$_-4/M) 및 항정신병약인 CP(10$_-4/M)둥이 혈소판내 I $P_3$, [C $a^{++}$], Tx $B_2$, 및 PG $I_2$ 함량과 단백-인산화의 TB에 의한 변동에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 그 결과 TB에 의한 혈소판내 I $P_3$, [C $a^{++}$], Tx $B_2$, 및 PG $I_2$ 함량의 증가가 PDE-1들과 항우울약들에 의하여 억제되었다 단, 항우울성약들과 CP는 정상 혈소판 I $P_3$를 증가시켰다. 아울러 혈소판-단백인산학에서 TB는 41-43 kD와 20 kD의 인산화를 현저히 증가시키며 19 kD의 인산화는 감소시켰고, PKC의 기질인 41-43 kD와 20 kD의 단백인산화가 PDE-1들과 항우울약들 뿐 아니라 CP에 의하여 현저히 억제되었다. 단, 20 kD 인산화에 대한 AT의 억제작용은 미약하였고, cAMP와 PDE-1들은 22kD 인산화를 증가시켰다. AT, ST, 및 CP는 A23187에 의한 41-43 kD 인산화는 현저히 억제하나 20 kD 인산화에는 영향을 미치지 않았고, PMA(3.2$\times$$10^{-7}$ M)에 의한 단백인산화에 대하여는 더 미약한 억제-효과를 나타내었다. 이상의 결과는 PDE-1과 항우울약들의 항혈소판작용은 PKC-기질인 41-43 kD와 20 kD의 인산화를 억제함에 기인되는 것으로 사료된다.다. 것으로 사료된다.다.

다제내성결핵 환자에서 ofloxacin의 약동학적 분석 (Pharmacokinetics of ofloxacin in Patients with Multidrug-Resistant Tuberculosis)

  • 연구배경 : 다제내성 결핵 환자에서 fluoroquinolone계 약물이 빈번하게 처방되고 있음에도 불구하고, 이의 약동학적 특성에 대한 연구가 부족한 실정이다. 그러므로, 본 연구에서는 fluoroquinolone계 약물의 하나인 ofloxacin을 복용하고 있는 다제내성 결핵 환자에서의 ofloxacin의 약동학적 특성을 분석하였고, 아울러 ofloxacin의 약동학적 특성을 전신쇠약 상태와 연관지어 분석하였다. 방 법 : 300 mg b.i.d. 의 ofloxacin 용법을 포함하여 prothionamide, cycloserine, para-aminosalicylic acid, kanamycin 및 streptomycm 등의 2차 항결핵제제를 복용 중인 20명의 다제내성 결핵 환자를 대상으로 하였다. 전신쇠약 상태가 ofloxacin의 약동학에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위하여 body mass indes (BMI)에 따라 환자를 두 군 (A 군 ; 18.5 $\leq$ BMI < 23, B군 : < 18.5)으로 나누어 두 군간의 ofloxacin의 항정상태 약동학적 특성을 비교분석하였다. 한 달 이상의 고정용법으로 항정상태에 이른 피험자에서 약동학 연구를 위하여 혈액을 경시적으로 13회 취하였고, 뇨 시료도 24 사간까지 취하였다. 혈장 및 뇨의 ofloxacin 농도를 HPLC를 이용하여 측정한 후 각각의 약동학적 분석을 시행하였다. 결 과 : Ofloxacin 의 AUC는 B군에서 $31.4{\pm}8.9{\mu}g/ml{\cdot}h$로 A군의 24.1+6.2 ${\mu}g/ml{\cdot}h$보다 유의하게 큰 것으로 나타났다(p<0.05). 항정상태에서 A군의 ofloxacin의 청소율 (Cl/F)은 $0.16{\pm}0.03$ L/h/kg로 산출되었고, B군에서는 $0.14{\pm}0.03$ L/h/kg로 나타났다. Ofloxacin의 반감기($t_{1/2}$)는 두 군간에 차이를 보이지 않았다(A군 : $5.3{\pm}0.8$시간, B군 $5.7{\pm}0.9$시간)으며 다른 약동학적 경수들도 두 군간의 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 결 론 : 이상의 연구결과는 정상 피험자에 비하여 다제내성 결핵 환자에서 ofloxacin의 약동학적 특성이 유의하게 다르지 않음을 나타내고 있다. 한편, 만성 다제내성 결핵 환자의 전신쇠약 정도는 혈장 ofloxcaicn의 농도에 변화를 유발하는 것으로 기대된다.

Pt/Co 인공격자다층막의 자기특성에 관한 연구 (Magnetic characteristics of Pt/Co modualted films)

  • Pt/Co인공격자다층막($[Pt10.7\;{\AA}/Co2.8\;{\AA}]{\times}12$)의 자기특성 및 기록특성이 시료제작시의 조건 (sputtering gas압력, sputtering gas 종류, buffer층의 유무 및 etching)에 따라 어떻게 변화하는지를 알아보았다. Pt/Co다층막의 자기특성은 Tb-Fe-Co계 아몰퍼스재료와 거의 동등한 특성이 얻어졌으며 이다층막을 이용한 광자기디스크의 기록특성은 kerr회전각, 1.23도, 기록 power 특성, 36dB(레이저파장: 780nm)을 나타내어 Pt/Co다층막이 차세대광자기디스크용 재료로서의 실용화가능성을 보여주었다.
