Structural and Dielectric Properties of (Sr.Ca)$TiO_3$-based Ceramics with the Substitution of Ca (Ca 치환에 따른 (Sr.Ca)$TiO_3$계 세라믹스의 구조적 및 유전 특성)

  • In this paper, the structural and dielectric properties of (Sr$_{l-x}$Ca$_{x}$)TiO$_3$ (0$\leq$x$\leq$0.2) -based grain boundary layer ceramics were investigated by XRD, SEM and HP4194A. The ceramics were fabricated by the conventional mixed oxide method. The sintering temperature and time were 1420~152$0^{\circ}C$ and 4 hours, respectively. The average grain size and the lattice constant were decreased with increasing content of Ca. The average grain size was increased with increase of sintering temperature. The relative density of all specimens was 96~98%. The 2nd Phase formed by the thermal diffusion of CuO from the surface leads to very excellent dielectric properties, that is, $\varepsilon$$_{r}$>50000, tan $\delta$<0.05, $\Delta$C<$\pm$10%. The appropriate Ca content was under 15 ㏖%.s under 15 ㏖%.%.

  • Objective: This study was carried out to investigate the correlation between prognosis and differential temperature of Digital infrared Thermographic Imaging in Bell's palsy. Methods: The clinical data and thermographic images were analyzed on 50 cases of Bell's palsy who were treated ambulatory in Dong-so oriental hospital from October 2000 to May 2001 And 32case were selected who underwent thermographic imaging within 7days of onset. Results: There was no statistic significance between ${\Delta}T$ and the length of treatment, but the length of treatment tends to grow as ${\Delta}T$ increased. The length of treatment was shortest in normal thermal pattern, followed by hyperthermal and hypothermal. Conclusions: According to the results, there was a tendency that ${\Delta}T$ value is proportional to treatment days, although it is not significant statistically.

  • In the present study. we investigated the role of fillers, alumina trihydrate (ATH) and calcined clay, on the mechanical and electrical properties of EPDM compounds. Mechanical properties and tracking resistance improved with increasing ATH fillers. whereas volume resistivity, tan$\delta$ and dielectric constant decreased when ATH was replaced by clay filler. Futhermore, it was more prominent in $90^{\circ}C$ hot water test. This was explained with polarity of ATH, and the smaller particle size of ATH filler than clay filler.

  • This paper provides the results of dielectric properties for aged or controlled lightening arresters. The aged lightening arresters were used for five years in distribution line. The leakage current of lightening arresters and elements was measured to confirm whether the lightening arrester was deteriorated or not. The microstructure was also investigated to determine the size of grain and grain boundary. The dielectric properties of aged lightening arresters were compared to those of controlled lightening arresters. The dielectric constant and the tan${\delta}$ of aged lightening arrester were larger than those of controlled one, resulting from accelerated aging due to the thin grain boundary.

  • In this study, we evaluated the dependence of thickness and temperature in the breakdown strength of MDPE and effect of semiconductor. As the result, breakdown strength trend to decrease according to the increase of thickness and temperature. We obtained the result that the breakdown strength was a little lower in the structure of Semi/MDPE than Semi/MDPE/Semi, but breakdown strength of MDPE was greater both of all. The dependency of permittivity, tan ${\delta}$ and conductance on frequency and temperature were investigated. Both of the specimans showed the trend of decreased in permittivity as the temperature increased but increase as the frequency increased.

  • Insulation system(200 class} for stator coil is designed for traction motor with VVVF inverter. Sample coils for stator of the traction motor were tested by accelerative thermal degradation which composed of heat, vibration, moisture, and overvoltage apply. Reliability and expected life were evaluated on the insulation system for 200 class traction motor. After aging of 10 cycles, tan ${\delta}$ increased with voltage. This result is due to increase of internal defects and change of insulation structure.

  • This test was performed to assess the correlation between insulation diagnostic tests and breakdown voltage strength of the stator winding of 6.6kV class induction motor in insulation deterioration condition which have been in service for 5 years after being installed in 1998. The insulation diagnostic tests include resistance, polarization index(P.I), dissipation factor(${\triangle}tan{\delta}$), maximum partial discharges(Qmax) and AC breakdown test. we evaluated the correlation between insulation diagnostic test and AC breakdown test for stator winding of high voltage induction motor.

  • Films of methylcellulose(MC), chitosan and their blends were prepared using water and acid solution as a solvent. The transition behavior and miscibility of polymers and their blends were characterized by dynamic mechanical analysis(DMA) and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA). The DMA analysis of PEG400/MC blends has shown that PEG400 was compatible with MC and was effective plasticizer since the curves of $tan{\delta}$ against temperature exhibited single peak, corresponding to single glass transition temperature, which were displaced to lower values with increasing PEG400 content. Results of DMA analysis and TGA analysis of MC/chitosan blends indicate that there are some miscibility between MC and chitosan in the blends, attributed to the similarities between two polysaccharides and interactions of two polymers in the blends. The inclusion of PEG400 in the blends increase the miscibility between two components in the blends.

  • In this paper, to obtain the material properties through the semiconducting shields of 22kV XLPE power cable. the water absorption TGA DSC and dielectric properties were respectively measured between semiconducting shield and XLPE. Especially, dielectric properties were measured with temperature variation. Above result, the water absorption was 1200 ppm and the ratio of carbon black was 40% in semiconducting shields. The dielectric constant was $10^3{\sim}10^5$, $tan{\delta}$ was $10^2{\sim}10^3{\Omega}cm$ and volume resistivity was $280{\sim}2.8{\times}10^3$.

  • Morphology evolution of the active layer in bulk hetero-junction organic photovoltaic is modeled and visualized. The width of the phase domain can be predicted using the relationship of characteristics length and evolution time of the process. The 3D numerical simulation of the PCBM/P3HT blend morphology evolution with respect to time is presented. It is observed that the domain width of composition phase can be predicted by using the relationship between value of characteristic length R(t) and evolution time t.
