This paper describes the characteristics of a piezoresistive pressure sensor fabricated on a SOI (Si-on-insulator) structure, in which the SOI structures of Si/$SiO_{2}$/Si and Si/$Al_{2}O_{3}$/Si were formed by SDB (Si-wafer direct bonding) technology and hetero-epitaxial growth, respectively. The SOI pressure sensors using the insulator of a SOI structure as the dielectrical isolation layer of piezoresistors, were operated at higher temperatures up to $300^{\circ}C$. In the case of pressure sensors using the insulator of a SOI structure as an etch-stop layer during the formation of thin Si diaphragms, the pressure sensitivity variation of the SOI pressure sensors was controlled to within a standard deviation of ${\pm}2.3%$ over 200 devices. Moreover, the pressure sensors fabricated on the double SOI ($Si/Al_{2}O_{3}/Si/SiO_{2}/Si$) structures formed by combining SDB technology with epitaxial growth also showed very excellent characteristics with high-temperature operation and high-resolution.
A $Cu_3Si$ film electrode is obtained by Si deposition on a Cu foil using DC magnetron sputtering, which is followed by annealing at $800^{\circ}C$ for 10 h. The Si component in $Cu_3Si$ is inactive for lithiation at ambient temperature. The linear sweep thermammetry (LSTA) and galvano-static charge/discharge cycling, however, consistently illustrate that $Cu_3Si$ becomes active for the conversion-type lithiation reaction at elevated temperatures (> $85^{\circ}C$). The $Cu_3Si$ electrode that is short-circuited with Li metal for one week is converted to a mixture of $Li_{21}Si_5$ and metallic Cu, implying that the Li-Si alloy phase generated at 0.0 V (vs. Li/$Li^+$) at the quasi-equilibrium condition is the most Li-rich $Li_{21}Si_5$. However, the lithiation is not extended to this phase in the constant-current charging (transient or dynamic condition). Upon de-lithiation, the metallic Cu and Si react to be restored back to $Cu_3Si$. The $Cu_3Si$ electrode shows a better cycle performance than an amorphous Si electrode at $120^{\circ}C$, which can be ascribed to the favorable roles provided by the Cu component in $Cu_3Si$. The inactive element (Cu) plays as a buffer against the volume change of Si component, which can minimize the electrode failure by suppressing the detachment of Si from the Cu substrate.
The phase relations and microstructure appeared at 1700℃ in a system of Si3N4-Al2O3-SiO2 were studied. The samples were pressurelessly sintered at 1700℃ for 1hr and reheated at 1600℃ for 1hr under nitrogen atmosphere. The compounds formed were identified by X-ray diffraction method and the microstrues were observed by SEM. The stable phases appeared in this system were X-phase, Si2ON2, β'-Si3N4 and Mullite. From the results of those experiments, it was concluded that the X-phase has very close composition to that proposed by G, K. Layden, Si3Al6O12N2. SEM photographs showed that Si2ON2 was a plate phase and X-phase was a rectagular plate phase.
The effect of Si supplied during plant cultivation on tolerance to high temperature stress in Euphorbia pulcherrima Willd. 'Ichiban' was investigated. Rooted cuttings were transplanted into 10-cm pots and a complete nutrient solution, containing 0 or $50mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ Si as either $K_2SiO_3$, $Na_2SiO_3$, or $CaSiO_3$, was supplied through subirrigation or weekly foliar applications. After two months of cultivation, plants were placed in an environment-controlled chamber and subjected to $35{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ (high temperature) conditions for 18 days. Enhanced specific activities of enzymatic antioxidants (APX) and suppressed specific activities of non-enzymatic antioxidants (ELP) were observed in the high temperature-stressed plants with Si application. The Fv/Fm (maximum quantum yield of photosystem II), photosynthetic rate, and Si contents in the shoot increased in the treatments of $K_2SiO_3$ and $Na_2SiO_3$ supplied through subirrigation. The Si-treated plants had more tolerance of high temperature stress than the control plants. Of the Si sources and application methods tested, $K_2SiO_3$ and $Na_2SiO_3$ supplied through subirrigation were found to be the most effective in enhancing tolerance to high temperature stress.

This paper describes the Raman scattering characteristics of polycrystalline (poly) 3C-SiC thin films, in which they were deposited on the oxidized Si substrate by APCVD method according to growth temperature. Since the phonon modes were not measured for $0.4{\mu}m$ thick 3C-SiC, $2.0{\mu}m$ thick 3C-SiC deposited on the oxidized Si at $1180^{\circ}C$, in which TO (transverse optical mode) and LO (longitudinal optical mode) phonon modes were appeared at 794.4 and $965.7cm^{-1}$, respectively. The broad FWHM (full width half maximum) can explain that the crystallinity of 3C-SiC deposited at $1180^{\circ}C$ becomes polycrystalline instead of disorder crystal. Additionally, the ratio of intensity $I_{LO}/I_{TO}{\approx}1.0$ of 3C-SiC indicates that the crystal disorder of $3C-SiC/SiO_2/Si$ is small. Compared poly $3C-SiC/SiO_2$ with $SiO_2/Si$ interfaces, $1122.6cm^{-1}$ phonon mode was measured which may belong to C-O bonding and two phonon modes, 1355.8 and $1596.8cm^{-1}$ related to D and G bands of C-C bonding in the Raman range of 200 to $2000cm^{-1}$.
Sintered Si3N4 and Inconel composed of Ni(58-63%) Cr(21-25%) Al(1-17%) Mn(<1%) fe(balance) were pressurelessly joined by using Ag-Cu-Ti brazing filler metal at 950℃ and 1200℃ under N2 gas atmosphere of 1atm and their interfacial structures were investigated. In case that the reaction temperature was low as 950℃ its interfacial structure was "Inconel metal/Ti-rich phase layer/brazing filler metal layer/Si3N4 " Ti used as reactive metal existed in between inconel steel and brazing metal and moved to the interface of between brazing filler metal nd Si3N4 according as reaction temperature increased up to 1200℃. The interfacial structure of inconel steel-Si3N4 reacted at 1200℃ was ' inconel metal/Ni-rich phase layer containing of Fe. Cr and Si/Cu-rich phase layer containing of Mn and Si/Si3N4 " Cr Mn, Ni and Fe diffused to the interface of between brazing filler metal and Si3N4 and reacted with Si3N4 The most reactive components of ingredients of inconel metal were Cr and Mn. On the other hand Ti added as reactive components to Ag-Cu eutectic segregated into Ni-rich phase layer,.

In-situ doped polycrystalline 3C-SiC thin films were deposited by APCVD at $1200^{\circ}C$ using HMDS(hexamethyildisilane: $Si_2(CH_3)_6)$) as Si and C precursor, and 0 ~ 100 sccm $N_2$ as the dopant source gas. The peak of SiC is appeared in polycrystalline 3C-SiC thin films grown on $SiO_2$/Si substrates in XRD(X-ray diffraction) and FT-IR(Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy) analyses. The resistivity of polycrystalline 3C-SiC thin films decreased from 8.35 $\Omega{\cdot}cm$ with $N_2$ of 0 sccm to 0.014 $\Omega{\cdot}cm$ with 100 sccm. The carrier concentration of poly 3C-SiC films increased with doping from $3.0819\times10^{17}$ to $2.2994\times10^{19}cm^{-3}$ and their electronic mobilities increased from 2.433 to 29.299 $cm^2/V{\cdot}S$, respectively.

Single crystal cubic silicon carbide(3C-SiC) thin film were deposited on Si(100) substrate up to a thickness of $4.3{\mu}m$ by APCVD(atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition) method using hexamethyildisilane(HMDS) at $1350^{\circ}C$. The HMDS flow rate was 0.5 sccm and the carrier gas flow rate was 2.5 slm. The HMDS flow rate was important to get a mirror-like. The growth rate of the 3C-SiC films was $4.3{\mu}m/hr$. The 3C-SiC epitaxical layers on Si(100) were characterized by XRD(X-ray diffraction), raman scattering and RHEED(reflection high-energy electron diffraction), respectively. The 3C-SiC distinct phonons of TO(transverse optical) near $796cm^{-1}$ and LO(longitudinal optical) near $974{\pm}1cm^{-1}$ were recorded by raman scattering measurement. The deposition films were identified as the single crystal 3C-SiC phase by XRD spectra($2{\theta}=41.5^{\circ}$). Also, with increase of films thickness, RHEED patterns gradually changed from a spot pattern to a streak pattern.
This paper describes the formation of porous 3C-SiC by anodization. 3C-SiC thin films were deposited on p-type Si(100) substrates by APCVD using HMDS(Hexamethyildisilane: $Si_2(CH_3)_6$). UV-LED(380 nm) was used as a light source. The surface morphology was observed by SEM and the pore size was increased with increase of current density. Pore diameter of 70 $\sim$ 90 nm was achieved at 7.1 mA/cm$^2$ current density and 90 sec anodization time. FT-IR was conducted for chemical bonding of thin film and porous 3C-SiC. The Si-H bonding was observed in porous 3C-SiC around wavenumber 2100 cm$^{-1}$. PL shows the band gap enegry of thin film(2.5 eV) and porous 3C-SiC(2.7 eV).
