감자역병균(Phytophthora infestans)의 단일 포자낭으로부터 형성된 균총의 Metalaxyl과 Streptomycin Sulfate 내성 변화 (Variation in Metalaxyl and Streptomycin Sulfate Resistance of Isolates Formed from Single Sporangium of Phytophora infestans)

  • Metalaxyl과 streptomycin sulfate(SM) 내성 획득여부를 알아보기위해 감자역병균의 모균주와 단일 포자낭에서 얻은 $F_1$세대에 대한 반응을 조사하였다. 모균주 KM10, U6, CDB6은 metalaxyl에 내성을 보였으며, F827, DNC303, DN107 균주는 SM에 내성을 나타냈다. 약제에 노출시킨 단일 포자낭에서 얻은 $F_1$세대는 모균주보다 생육이 양호하였다. 특히, F817, CDB6, JD1의 $F_1$세대는 metalaxyl 처리배지에서 대조구보다 51%이상 신장하였고, KM10, U6, JD1의 $F_1$세대는 모균주보다 SM처리에서 51%이상 신장하였다. 이것들은 본 실험의 표준에 의하면 내성을 획득하였다. 또 모균주와 $F_1$세대간에는 약제저항성에 정의 상간관계가 있었다. Metalaxyl의 경우 SM의 경우보다 준내성 이상을 보인 모균주로부터 얻은 $F_1$세대의 내성획득 정도가 더 큰 경향을 보였다.

복합항생제 SM-101(설박탐.메탐피실린)의 생식독성연구: 랫트 최기형시험 (Reproductive Toxicity Study of SM-101(sulbactam.metampicillin): Teratogenicity Study in Rats)

  • A new composite antibiotic, SM-101(sulbactam·metampicillin), was at dose levels of 0, 375, 750 and 1500 mg/kg/day administered intravenously to pregnant Sprague-Dawley rats during the organogenetic period. Two-third of dams per group were subjected to caesarean section on day 20 of pregnancy and the remaining 10 dams per group were allowed to deliver. Effects of test substance on dams, embryonal development of F1 fetuses, as well as growth, behaviour and mating performance of F1 offspring were examined. In dams, two deaths occurred at 375 and 1500 mg/kg, respectively. The decrease in the weight of adrenal glands of the 1500 mg/kg group was observed. The prolongation of pregnancy period was found at 1500 mg/kg. F1 fetuses showed no changes related to the treatment of SM-101. In F1 offspring, the increase in spleen weight was seen at all doses treated. No treatment-related abnormalities were observed in each treated group in terms of development, behaviour and reproductive performance. In F2 fetuses, no drug-induced abnormalities occurred at all doses. The results show that the no-effect dose levels (NOELS) for dams and Fl offspring are under 375 mg/kg/day and NOELs for F1/F2 fetuses are over 1500 mg/kg/day.

Anaerobic Digestion Treatment for the Mixture of Chinese Cabbage Waste Juice and Swine Manure

  • Purpose: The objective of this study was to investigate the feasibility of anaerobic digestion of Chinese cabbage waste juice (CCWJ) and swine manure(SM). Methods: The anaerobic digestion test was conducted under batch and continuous conditions at mesophilic temperature ($36-38^{\circ}C$). The batch test was divided into Experiment I and II. In the Experiment I, biogas potential and production rate of CCWJ was evaluated. In Experiment II the effect of F/M ratio (2.0, 3.2, 4.9) at mixture ratio of 25:75(CCWJ: SM, % vol. basis) on biogas yield was studied. Results: CCWJ produced biogas and methane yield of 929 and 700 mL/g VS added respectively. The biogas yield from the mixture of CCWJ and SM was almost same at F/M ratio of 2.0 and 3.2 but dropped by 14% when F/M ratio increased from 3.2 to 4.9. In continuous test the mixture of CCWJ and SM (25:75, % vol. basis) produced biogas yield of 352 mL/g VS added which is around 11% higher compared to biogas yield from SM alone. Addition to biogas yield digester performance was also improved with co-digestion of CCWJ with SM. Conclusions: The results showed that the anaerobic digestion of CCWJ with SM could be promising for improving both the biogas yield and digester performance at mesophilic temperature.

Nitrogen Balance and Biological Nitrogen Fixation of Soybean in Soybean-Barley Cropping System

  • This experiment was conducted to investigate the soil nitrogen credit of biological nitrogen fixation (BNF) and the nitrogen balance of soybean in soybean-barley cropping systems. Soybean cultivar, Shinpaldalkong2 and barley cultivar, Olbori, were used in soybean mono-cropping (SM), barley monocropping (BM), and barley­soybean double cropping system. The barley-soybean double cropping system was treated with two different levels of nitrogen fertilizers, 0 nitrogen fertilizer (BS-F0), and standard nitrogen fertilizer (BS-F1). Nitrogen and organic matter concentrations in soil of BS-F1 plot on October, 2001 were increased $4.8\%\;and\;5.9\%$, respectively, compared with those on October, 2000. The ranges of BNF rate in soybean were $69.1\~ 88.2\%$ in two years, and the rate was the highest in BS-F0 plot and the lowest in SM plot. The ranges of nitrogen harvest index (NHI) in all treatments were $83.9\~86.7\%$. The yield was 270 kg/10a in BS­F1 plot and 215 kg/10a in BS-F0 plot. However, the nitrogen balances were +0.6 kg/10a of gain of soil nitrogen in BS-F0 plot and -0.4 kg/10a of loss of soil nitrogen in BS-F1 plot. In comparisons of SM and BS-F1 plots, although the seed yields were similar in two plots, the loss of soil nitrogen was higher in SM than BS-F1 plot. Overall, our results suggest that barley-soybean double cropping system was more effective in respect to seed productivity and soil nitrogen conservation than soybean monocropping system, and the N credit to following crops by soybean cultivation was identified in soybean double cropping system.

죽황(竹黃)으로부터 분리한 미백활성 성분의 멜라닌생성 억제효과 (The Antimelanogenic Effects of Compounds Extracted from Bamboo Inner Film)

  • 천연물로부터 미백활성 성분의 개발을 위하여 국내 자생식물 60종으로부터 추출물을 얻어, 이들의 멜라닌 생성과정의 주된 효소인 tyrosinase 활성 억제력을 평가하였다. 평가결과 노랑하늘타리(열매), 죽황, 누리장나무(잎), 우산고로쇠(잎) 추출물이 비교적 높은 tyrosinase 활성억제효과를 보였고, 이들의 $IC_{50}$ 값은 $50{\sim}100{\mu}g/mL$ 이었다. 이들의 멜라닌생성 억제효과를 B16F10 흑색종세포주를 이용하여 실험한 결과, 죽황추출물이 가장 높은 52%의 멜라닌생성 저해활성을 보였으며, 이는 기존 미백제인 arbutin (42%)에 비해 10% 높은 것이다. 죽황추출물로부터 용매추출 및 크로마토그래피 등의 분리과정을 거쳐 10가지 미백활성 성분을 분리하였다. 이들은 모두 페놀유도체 화합물로서, SM701과 SM702, SM703, BPR211은 hydroquinone계 화합물이며, SM707은 gallic acid계, SM704와 SM705, SM706, SM708, SM709는 ferulic acid계로 확인되었다. 이들의 유리기 소거효과를 hydorquinone과 비타민 C와 비교하여 측정하였을 때. $SC_{50}$ 값이 SM702와 SM709의 경우 $60{\sim}70{\mu}M$로 hydroquinone과 유사하였고, SM701과 SM708은 $30{\sim}40{\mu}M$로 비타민 C ($45{\mu}M$)보다 낮은 값을 보여 죽황추출물은 항산화활성이 높은 성분들을 함유하고 있음을 확인하였다. 이들 중 1,2-O-diferulylglycerol로 확인된 SM709 성분은 tyrosine hydroxylase 및 DOPA oxidase 활성을 각각 18, 60% 억제하였고, B16F10 흑색종세포주를 이용한 멜라닌생성량 억제시험에서 62%의 저해효과를 나타내 가장 높은 미백활성을 보였다. 따라서 죽황추출물의 미백활성은 주로 멜라닌 생성과정의 DOPA oxidsae 저해효과와 항산화효과에 의해 나타나는 것으로 생각된다.

실리카계 유리의 희토류 이온 분광특성 연구 (Spectroscopic Studies of Rare-earth Elements in Silicate Glasses)

  • 실리카 유리에 3가 이온 희토류 원소인 $Eu^{3+}$, $Sm^{3+}$, $Tb^{3+}$를 첨가한 경우의 분광특성 변화를 연구하였다. 유리시료의 분광특성은 회토류를 첨가한 경우의 파장영역에 따른 흡수 및 발광파장의 변화를 관찰하였으며, 희토류 함량을 1-10wt%까지 첨가하여 함량변화에 따른 형광세기 변화를 조사하였다. 형광특성 측정 결과 희토류 원소의 함량이 10wt%까지 형광세기는 함량에 비례하여 계속 증가하였으며, 시료의 형광특성을 상온에서 관측한 결과 400-500nm사이에서 가장 많은 빛을 흡수하여 가시광선 영역인 600nm부근에서 방출되는 형광세기가 가장 크게 나타났다. 이때 방출되는 희토류 원소들은 $Eu^{3+}$의 경우 $^{5}D_{o}$ -> ^{7}F$. $Sm^{3+}$$4F_{5/2}$ -> $^{6}H$, $Tb^{3+}$$^{5}D_{4}$ -> ^{7}F$의 전이임일 알 수 있었다.

$SmFeAsO_{1-x}F_x$(x=0.2)의 고압 단결정 합성 (High-Pressure Synthesis of $SmFeAsO_{1-x}F_x$(x=0.2) Single Crystals)

  • Fluorine-doped $SmFeAsO_{1-x}F_x$ single crystals with the nominal value of x=0.2 were grown at $1350-1450^{\circ}C$ under the pressure of 3.3 GPa by using the self-flux method. Plate-shaped single crystals in the range of a few-150 ${\mu}m$ in their lateral size were obtained. The detailed crystal structure was analyzed by using the x-ray diffractometry. Superconducting transition temperature, determined by the resistive transition, of a single crystal was about 49 K with a narrow resistive transition width of ${\sim}1$ K. A relatively sharp transition, a low residual resistivity, and a large residual resistivity ratio compared with those reported for $REFeAsO_{1-x}F_x$(RE=Sm, Nd) single crystals indicate the high quality of our single crystals.

A TRIPLE MIXED QUADRATURE BASED ADAPTIVE SCHEME FOR ANALYTIC FUNCTIONS

  • An efficient adaptive scheme based on a triple mixed quadrature rule of precision nine for approximate evaluation of line integral of analytic functions has been constructed. At first, a mixed quadrature rule SM1(f) has been formed using Gauss-Legendre three point transformed rule and five point Booles transformed rule. A suitable linear combination of the resulting rule and Clenshaw-Curtis seven point rule gives a new mixed quadrature rule SM10(f). This mixed rule is termed as triple mixed quadrature rule. An adaptive quadrature scheme is designed. Some test integrals having analytic function integrands have been evaluated using the triple mixed rule and its constituent rules in non-adaptive mode. The same set of test integrals have been evaluated using those rules as base rules in the adaptive scheme. The triple mixed rule based adaptive scheme is found to be the most effective.

Absorption and Fluorescence of Sm(III) Complexes with some Terdentate Ligands

  • Spectroscopic measurements and theoretical calculations are performed for the four 1 : 3 Sm(III) : ligand solutions. The ligands included in this study are oxidiacetate, iminodiacetate, methyliminodiacetate and dipicolinate. The oscillator strengths for the $4f{\to}4f$ multiplet-to-multiplet transitions are empirically determined from the absorption spectra. The intensity parameters ${\Omega}_{\lambda}\;({\lambda}=2,\;4,\;6)$ of $Sm^{3+}$(aquo) and ${SmL_3}^{3-}$ complexes are also evaluated by applying the Judd-Ofelt theorem to the observed oscillator strengths. The values of the intensity parameters are compared and discussed in term of structural properties of the complexes. In addition, the fluorescence spectra are reported for the Sm(III) complex systems under mild alkaline condition. The excitation from the $^6H_{5/2}$ ground state to any excited states lying above the emitting energy level $(^4G_{5/2})$ produces four fluorescence bands, following nonradiative transitions from a certain excited state to the $^4G_{5/2}$ state. The ratios of oscillator strengths of ${SmL_3}^{3-}$ complexes to that of $Sm^{3+}$(aquo) are also evaluated from the fluorescence spectra and compared to the results obtained from the absorption bands.

한국산 나비나물속(콩과)의 세포분류학적 연구 (A cytotaxonomic study of Vicia L. (Fabaceae) in Korea)

  • 한국산 나비나물속(Vicia)에 속하는 10분류군의 체세포 염색체수와 그 중 6분류군에 대한 핵형분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 밝혀진 나비나물속의 체세포 염색체수는 2n = 12, 14 또는 24로서, 기본 염색체수 x = 6 또는 7의 이배체와 사배체로 밝혀졌다. 한국특산식물인 나래완두(V. hirticalycina, 2n = 2x = 12)의 염색체수는 본 연구에서 처음으로 밝혀졌다. 가는살갈퀴(V. angustifolia, 2n = 2x = 12), 등갈퀴나물(V. cracca, 2n = 4x = 24), 새완두(V. hirsuta, 2n = 2x = 14), 얼치기완두(V. tetrasperma, 2n = 2x = 14 + 2B), 벌완두(V. amurensis, 2n = 2x = 12), 노랑갈퀴(V. chosenensis, 2n = 2x = 12, 12 + 2B), 나비나물(V. unijuga, 2n = 4x = 24), 애기나비나물(V. unijuga f. minor, 2n = 4x = 24), 광릉갈퀴(V. venosa var. cuspidata, 2n = 4x = 24)의 체세포 염색체수는 기존의 보고들과 일치하였다. 핵형분석 결과, 등갈퀴나물은 2 m + 8 sm+ 2 st, 벌완두는 2 m + 2 sm + 2st, 나래완두는 3 m + 1 sm+ 2 st, 나비나물과 애기나비나물은 4 m + 6 sm + 2 st, 광릉갈퀴는 4 m + 8 sm로 각각 조사되었다.
