전력수급기본계획의 불확실성과 CO2 배출 목표를 고려한 발전용 천연가스 장기전망과 대책 (Scenario Analysis of Natural Gas Demand for Electricity Generation in Korea)

  • This study organizes scenarios on the power supply plans and electricity load forecasts considering their uncertainties and estimates natural gas quantity for electricity generation, total electricity supply cost and air pollutant emission of each scenario. Also the analysis is performed to check the properness of government's natural gas demand forecast and the possibility of achieving the government's CO2 emission target with the current plan and other scenarios. In result, no scenario satisfies the government's CO2 emission target and the natural gas demand could be doubled to the government's forecast. As under-forecast of natural gas demand has caused the increased natural gas procurement cost, it is required to consider uncertainties of power plant construction plan and electricity demand forecast in forecasting the natural gas demand. In addition, it is found that CO2 emission target could be achieved by enlarging natural gas use and demand-side management without big increase of total costs.

가연성 폐기물의 가스화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Gasification of Combustible Waste)

  • This study was investigated to the energy recovery by the pyrolysis of waste tyre. the pyrolysis of the waste tyre was made by using the pyrolysis chamber for the gasification and the combustion chamber for the combustion of the pyrolysis gas. In batch system, the amount of waste tyre was put 150kg in the pyrolysis chamber and the proper air flow rate for the stable production of the pyrolysis gas was 0.95Nm$^{3}$ /min. the production time of the pyrolysis gas was stable above 210minutes, and the stable production rate was above 3.8Nm$^{3}$ /min. The production temperature of pyrolysis gas was 170$^{\circ}$C and combustion temperature of pyrolysis gas was 1,000$^{\circ}$C. The combustible component of washing gas in pyrolysis gas of waste tyre was CO, CH$_{4}$, $C_{2}H_{6}$ and $C_{3}H_{8}$, and total amount was 22.7%. Heat value of condensed material was 9,804Kcal/kg. The average concentration of air pollutants between cyclone and scrubber was CO 420.4ppm, SO$_{x}$ 349.8ppm. NO$_{x}$ 68.Sppm, HCl 24.4ppm and Dust 240.0g / Nm$^{3}$, respectively.

Environmental Effects on the Molecular Gas Properties of Cluster Spirals

  • It is well known that the cluster environment can change the atomic gas properties of galaxies through tidal interactions and/or by the hot cluster medium. Meanwhile, the molecular gas is expected to be less vulnerable to its surroundings due to its higher density, and no obvious influence of the environment on the molecular gas properties had been found among cluster spirals until recently. However, in a recent study by Fumagalli et al. (2009) of a sub-sample of Virgo spirals, it has been suggested that HI deficient galaxies can be also CO deficient. In order to further investigate if the HI deficiency indeed can result in the deficiency in molecular gas content, we compare the global CO and HI gas properties of Virgo spirals with those of galaxies in the Ursa Major cluster and the Pisces cluster, much lower density environments than Virgo. We discuss possible consequences of molecular gas deficiency in star formation activity of spiral galaxies in high density environment.

Evaluation of electrical energy consumption in UV/H2O2 advanced oxidation process for simultaneous removal of NO and SO2

  • The electrical energy consumption (EEC) in removal of NO by a $UV/H_2O_2$ oxidation process was introduced and related to removal efficiency of this gas. The absorption-reaction of NO was conducted in a bubble column reactor in the presence of $SO_2$. The variation in NO removal efficiency was investigated for various process parameters including NO and $SO_2$ inlet concentrations, initial concentration of $H_2O_2$ solution and gas flow rate. EEC values were obtained in these different conditions. The removal efficiency was increased from about 22% to 54.7% when $H_2O_2$ concentration increased from 0.1 to 1.5 M, while EEC decreased by about 70%. However, further increase in $H_2O_2$ concentration, from 1.5 to 2, had no significant effect on NO absorption and EEC. An increase in NO inlet concentration, from 200 to 500 ppm, decreased its removal efficiency by about 10%. However, EEC increased from $2.9{\times}10^{-2}$ to $3.9{\times}10^{-2}kWh/m^3$. Results also revealed that the presence of $SO_2$ had negative effect on NO removal percentage and EEC values. Some experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of $H_2O_2$ solution pH. The changing of pH of oxidation-absorption medium in the ranges between 3 to 10, had positive and negative effects on removal efficiency depending on pH value.

목질 및 수피탄화물에 의한 기상 유해가스 흡착제거 (Removal of Harmful Gas with Wood or Bark Charcoal)

  • 탄화온도별로 제조한 신갈나무(Quercus mongolica Fischer)목탄과 낙엽송(Larix leptoepis)수피탄에 의한 유해가스 흡착성능 평가를 하여 본 결과, 탄화온도가 증가하면 비표면적과 탄소함량이 증가하는 경향이 있으나, $600^{\circ}C$이상의 온도에서는 상승폭이 둔화하였다. 또한 신갈나무탄과 낙엽송수피탄에 의한 유해가스 제거율 차이는 뚜렷하지는 않았으나, 탄화온도는 가스흡착성능에 큰 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, $300^{\circ}C$에서 탄화한 저온 목질탄화물은 목탄 또는 수피탄의 종류에 관계없이 50% 이하의 매우 낮은 악취가스 및 VOC 물질 제거율을 나타낸 반면, $600^{\circ}C$이상의 고온 탄화물은 목질의 종류에 관계없이 악취물질인 트리메틸아민, 메틸메르캅탄, 황화수소의 제거율과 VOC물질인 벤젠, 톨루엔, 자일렌 제거율이 거의 100%를 나타낼 정도로 높았으며, 흡착 10분 이내에 흡착평형에 이를 정도로 빠른 흡착성을 나타내었다. 한편 아세틸렌이나 $SO_2$, $NO_2$ 가스 제거율은 고온탄화물이라도 흡착 4시간 후인 흡착평형이 이루어지더라도 40% 이하로 매우 낮아 가스 종류에 따라서 흡착거동에 차이가 있었다. 이와 같이 탄화온도와 가스 종류에 따라 흡착성능이 달라지는 것은 비표면적과 같은 물리적인 요인뿐만 아니라 목탄의 관능기 종류 및 양에 의한 화학적 변화가 영향을 미치는 것으로 판단되며, 화학적 요인에 대한 구명이 필요할 것으로 생각된다.

저발열량 합성가스의 가스엔진 내 연소 특성에 대한 해석 (Analysis on the Combustion Characteristics of Low-Btu Synthetic Gases in Gas Engine)

  • 저발열량 석탄 및 바이오매스 합성가스의 가스 엔진 내 연소 특성에 대한 전산 해석을 수행하였다. 열화학적 해석을 통해 연소 압력, 연소 온도, 배기가스의 조성, NO 배출량 및 엔진 출력을 예측하였고, 예측결과를 소형 파이로트 가스 엔진 시험결과와 비교하였다. 합성 가스의 가스 엔진 연소실 내부의 비정상 연소 현상을 규명하기 위해 전산유체역학적 해석을 수행하였고, 석탄 및 바이오매스 합성가스의 계산결과들을 서로 비교하여 대체연료로서 합성가스 연소 시 가스엔진에 대한 설계 변경 및 조절을 위한 기준을 제시하였다.

Sensitivity Study of the Flow-through Dynamic Flux Chamber Technique for the Soil NO Emissions

  • A mathematical sensitivity analysis of the flow-through dynamic flux chamber technique, which has been utilized usually for various trace gas flux measurement from soil and water surface, was performed in an effort to provide physical and mathematical understandings of parameters essential for the NO flux calculation. The mass balance equation including chemical reactions was analytically solved for the soil NO flux under the steady state condition. The equilibrium concentration inside the chamber, $C_{eq}$, was found to be determined mainly by the balance between the soil flux and dilution of the gas concentration inside the chamber by introducing the ambient air. Surface deposition NO occurs inside the chamber when the $C_{eq}$ is greater than the ambient NO concentration ($C_{0}$) introducing to the chamber; NO emission from the soil occurs when the $C_{eq}$ is less than the ambient NO concentration. A sensitivity analysis of the significance of the chemical reactions of NO with the reactive species (i.e. $HO_{2},/CH_{3}O_{2},/O_{3}$) on the NO flux from soils was performed. The result of the analysis suggests that the NO flux calculated in the absence of chemical reactions and wall loss could be in error ranges from 40 to $85\%$ to the total flux.

Sludge Pellet의 NOx제거특성에 미치는 온도의 영향 (Effect of heating temperature to remove NOx by sludge pellet)

  • In this paper, in order to investigate the catalytic effect of the sludge exhausted from waterworks as heating temperature for NOx removal, we measure NO, $NO_2$ concentration as increasing temperature of sludge pellets and applying high voltage to sludge pellets in a quartz-glass reactor at the same time. NO initial concentration is 100ppm balanced with air gas in a mixing chamber. The gas flow is 5[l/min] and the heating temperature of sludge pellets in a quartz-glass reactor is adjusted from $200[^{\circ}C]$ $400[^{\circ}C]$ to investigate the effect of sludge pellets for removal NOx$(NO+NO_2)$ as increasing temperature. $BaTiO_3$ pellets is filled in a packed-bed reactor for corona discharge to measure how much NOx$(NO+NO_2)$ is removed after generating $NO_2$ from the packed-bed reactor. AC[60Hz] voltage is supplied to the reactor for discharge. In the result, $NO_2$ concentration is decreased by sludge pellets without heating temperature for sludge pellets in case of sludge pellets done heat treatment, however NO concentration is almost the same to be compared NO initial concentration. As increasing heating temperature for sludge pellets, $NO_2$ adsorbed on the sludge surface done heat treatment is converted to NO by the thermal energy, so NO concentration is extremely increased by reduction decomposition of $NO_2$. Finally, We think the sludge is possible to use for reduction catalysts, however we need to study more about the possibility and endurance of sludge as catalysts for NOx removal.

  • In this experiment, an attempt to use the sludge pellets as catalyst for NO removal from simulated gas is experimentally investigated by using cylinder type reactor. An experimental investigation has been conducted for NO concentration of 50[ppm], 100[ppm], 200[ppm] balanced with air. a gas flow rate of 5[1/min]. Cylinder type reactor is at upstream of system for corona discharge and packed bed type reactor filled with sludge pellets ate put at downstream of Cylinder type reactor for catalystic effect. And AC voltage to discharge the gases was supplied. In the result, NO removal with magnetic field is higher than that without magnetic field, when packed-bed reactor with sludge pellet is installed at downstream of cylinder reactor NO, $NO_2$ removal rate increased and $O_3$ is not generated.

LaCrxCo1-xO3/Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3의 적층구조를 가지는 가스센서 제조와 그의 NOx 검지특성 (Fabrication of Stack-Structured Gas Sensor of LaCrxCo1-xO3/Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3 and Its NOx Sensing Properties)

  • Impedancemetric $NO_x$ (NO and $NO_2$) gas sensors were designed with a stacked-layer structure and fabricated using $LaCr_xCo_{1-x}O_3$ (x = 0, 0.2, 0.5, 0.8 and 1) as the receptor material and $Li_{1.3}Al_{0.3}Ti_{1.7}(PO_4)_3$ plates as the solid-electrolyte transducer material. The $LaCr_xCo_{1-x}O_3$ layers were prepared with a polymeric precursor method that used ethylene glycol as the solvent, acetyl acetone as the chelating agent, and polyvinylpyrrolidone as the polymer additive. The effects of the Co concentration on the structural, morphological, and $NO_x$ sensing properties of the $LaCr_xCo_{1-x}O_3$ powders were investigated with powder X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, and its response to 20~250 ppm of $NO_x$ at $400^{\circ}C$ (for 1 kHz and 0.5 V), respectively. When the as-prepared precursors were calcined at $700^{\circ}C$, only a single phase was detected, which corresponded to a perovskite-type structure. The XRD results showed that as the Co concentration of the $LaCr_xCo_{1-x}O_3$powders increased, the crystal structure was transformed from an orthorhombic phase to a rhombohedral phase. Moreover, the $LaCr_xCo_{1-x}O_3$ powders with $0{\leq}x<0.8$ had a rhombohedral symmetry. The size of the particles in the $LaCr_xCo_{1-x}O_3$powders increased from 0.1 to $0.5{\mu}m$ as the Co concentration increased. The sensing performance of the stack-structured $LaCr_xCo_{1-x}O_3/Li_{1.3}Al_{0.3}Ti_{1.7}(PO_4)_3$ sensors was found to divide the impedance component between the resistance and capacitance. The response of these sensors to NO gas was more sensitive than that to $NO_2$ gas. Compared to other impedancemetric sensors, the $LaCr_{0.8}Co_{0.2}O_3/Li_{1.3}Al_{0.3}Ti_{1.7}(PO_4)_3$ sensor exhibited good reversibility and reliable sensingresponse properties for $NO_x$ gases.
