Output Power characteristics of the Piezoelectric Transformer for LCO Backlight with Piezoelectric and Piezoelectric Properties (유전 및 압전특성에 따른 LCD Backlight용 압전 트랜스포머의 출력전력특성)

  • In this paper, we investigated the output power, step-up ratio and efficiency properties of piezoelectric transformer with dielectric and piezoelectric characteristics of manufactured ceramics. The piezoelectric transformers with $2.0$\times$10$\times$48[$mm^3$] size were fabricated and its electrical properties were measured. When output power of 6W was constantly maintained, T2 piezoelectric transformer showed the minimum temperature rise of $9(^{\circ}C)$ at $150(K\Omega)$ load resistance. However, T1 piezoelecric transformer showed the temperature rise of $7.2(^{\circ}C)$ at $200(K\Omega)$ load resistance. The 6[w] CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) was successfully driven by T1 and T2 piezoelectric transformer but, its temperature rise $\Delta$T[$^{\circ}C)$] was generated more than $20(^{\circ}C)$. It is concluded that we have to design the piezoelectric transformers so that its output impedance correspond to the load impeadance, including any stray capacitance.

Type Ia 초신성의 조기형 모은하에 대한 분광관측

  • Type Ia 초신성을 이용한 거리측정은 암흑에너지의 존재를 암시하는 가장 직접적인 증거를 제시하며, 이것은 Type Ia 초신성의 밝기가 표준화된 광도에서 모두 같다고 하는 가정하에서 성립한다. 하지만 최근 표준화된 Type Ia 초신성의 광도가 모은하의 특성과 상관관계가 있음을 보이는 연구결과들이 등장하여 이러한 가정에 대한 의문이 제기되었다. Gallagher et al. (2008)은 조기형 모은하의 나이와 중원소 함량이 Type Ia 초신성의 밝기와 갖는 상관관계에 대하여 시도하였으나, 전체 은하의 표본갯수와 나이측정, 그리고 Hubble Residual을 구하는 과정에서 오차로 인한 한계가 있었다. 우리는 Type Ia 초신성에 나타나는 광도진화효과를 확인하기 위하여 가까운 거리에 있는 Type Ia 초신성의 조기형 모은하에 대하여 CTIO 1.5m, 보현산 1.8m, LCO 2.5 m 망원경의 긴 슬릿 분광기를 이용한 분광관측을 수행하고 있다. 관측된 모은하의 분광스펙트럼으로부터 방출선에 의한 영향을 제거한 뒤, 흡수선의 세기를 이용하여 Lick/IDS indices를 측정하고 있으며 이를Yonsei Evolutionary Population Synthesis model (YEPS)과 비교하여 은하의 나이와 중원소 함량을 추정하였다. 이 결과를 이용하여 Type Ia 초신성의 Hubble Residual과 항성종족의 나이 및 중원소 함량간의 상관관계를 통하여 Type Ia 초신성의 광도진화효과에 대해 분석할 예정이다. 현재까지 조기형 모은하 20여개에 대한 분광관측을 진행하였으며, 앞으로 긴 슬릿 분광기와 McDonald 2.7m 망원경의 VIRUS-P를 이용한 모은하의 분광관측을 추가로 수행할 예정이다.

A Scheme for Load Distribution and Macro Mobility in Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6에서 부하분산 및 매크로 이동성 지원 방안)

  • Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6) has been proposed by Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) to compensate for such problems as handover latency and signaling overhead in employing Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6). HMIPv6 supports micro-mobility within a domain and introduces a new entity, namely mobility anchor point (MAP) as a local home agent. However, HMIPv6 causes load concentration at a particular MAP and longer handover latency when inter-domain handover occurs. In order to solve such problems, this paper establishes a virtual domain (VD) of a higher layer MAP and proposes a MAP changing algorithm in which the routing path changes between mobile node (MN) and correspondent node(CN) according to the mobile position and the direction of the MN before inter-domain handover occurs. The proposed algorithm not only enables complete handover binding-update of the on-link care of address (LCoA) only when inter-domain handover occurs, but concentrated load of a particular MAP is distributed as well. This is because the MNs registered with higher layer MAP and lower layer MAP coexist in the VD. We simulate the performance of the proposed algorithm and compare with HMIPv6.

Implementation of a Residual Quantity Monitoring System in a Liquefied Gas Storage Tank based on Wireless Sensor Network Technology (무선센서 네트워크 기술 기반 액화가스 저장탱크 내 잔량 모니터링 시스템 구현)

  • This paper relates to a technology for monitoring a liquefied gas storage tank in the special gas field where demand is increasing owing to the continuous growth of related fields such as the semiconductor, display, and ICT convergence electronics industries. We have proposed a system for real - time monitoring using wireless sensor network technology, and implemented a system consisting of a sensor unit, transmitter module, and receiver module to be attached to a liquefied gas storage tank. The system was applied to LCO2 tanks among various liquefied gas storage tanks to verify the feasibility. The storage tanks employed in the experiments has capacities of 16,179 l and was 1,920 mm in inner diameter. Furthermore, the density was 1.03 g/l. The measured data were compared with reference data on the remaining gas level versus the $CO_2$ height of the surface, expressed using a conventional water meter, provided by an existing storage tank supplier. The experimental results show that the data is similar to the standard data provided by the tank supplier, and has a high accuracy and reliability within an error range of 0.03%.

A Study on the Electrical Characteristics of Battery Capacitor Applied to Photovoltaic Power System (태양광 시스템에 적용한 배터리 커패시터의 전기적 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes the preparation and characteristics of a battery capacitor and module for solar power system. A cylindrical 30,000F battery capacitor ($60{\times}138mm$) was assembled by using the $LTO(Li_4Ti_5O_{12})$ electrode as an anode and $NMC(LiNiMnCoO_2)-LCO(LiCoO_2)$ as a cathode. The battery capacitor has reduced energy density and power density under high CC(constant current) and CP(constant power) conditions. Battery capacitor module (16V, 11Ah) was fabricated using an asymmetric hybrid capacitor with a capacitance of 30,000F. In order to determine the characteristics of the battery capacitor Module for solar power system, battery capacitor cells were connected in series with active balancing circuit. As a result of measuring the 100w LED lamp, it was discharged at the voltage of 15V~10V, and the compensation time at discharge was measured to be about 4979s. Experimental results show that it can be applied to applications related to solar power system by applying battery capacitor module.

Optimization of optical design for Eye Glass Display using hybrid aspheric lens (Hybrid 비구면 렌즈를 이용한 Eye glass Display용 광학시스템의 최적화)

  • Eye Glass Display (EGD) with microdisplay to realize the virtual display can make the large screen, so virtual image has been developed by using microdisplay panel. This paper shows study of low cost lens design and simulation for microdisplay system with 0.6"LCoS panel. Lens design optimized consider to spherical aberration, astigmatism, distortion, and chromatic aberration. Code V is used and it designed an aspheric lens about exit pupil 6mm, eye relief 20mm and 35 degree of field of view (FOV). With the application this aspheric lens to liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) type's microdisplay, virtual image showed 50 inch at 2m. One side of the aspheric lens was constituted from diffractive optical element (DOE) for the improvement in a performance. It had less than 2.5% of distortion value and modulation transfer function in axial had 20% of resolution with 32 lp/mm spatial frequency. The optical system is suitable for display of 15.6 mm-diagonal with SVGA.

Electro-optical Characteristics of Full-HD LCOS Depending on the Trench Structure between Adjacent Pixels (Full-HD LCOS의 이웃한 픽셀 사이의 Trench구조 변화에 따른 전기광학적 특성 분석)

  • In order to check the validation of LC simulation, 0.7 inch LCOS panel in full-HD resolution was fabricated and used for the electro-optical measurement. Compared the measured data with the calculated data, the averaged difference was 1.72% under 0 ~ +6 V bias on pixel electrode. To improve the optical characteristics of full-HD LCOS panel, the planar structure and trench structures (0.1 um, 0.2 um and 0.3 um-in-depth) between adjacent pixels were investigated with LC simulation. The planar structure showed the higher reflectance and faster reflectance-voltage response time than the trench structure. The optical fill factor and contrast ratio of planar structure were also higher than those of trench structures. As compared 1 um-in-depth trench structure resembled to the real structure with the planar structure, the optical fill factor was improved by 1.15% and the contrast ratio was improved by 5.26%. In order to minimize the loss of luminance and contrast ratio, the planar structure need to be applied between adjacent pixels.

  • The rated power and rotor diameters of wind turbines are significantly increasing for maximized energy production and minimized LCoE, especially for offshore wind turbines. Along with this, the loads and weight of rotor blades are inevitably increasing. Therefore, designers are striving to develop light structures by reducing unnecessary materials for the blades. However, designers have to develop a novel design concept to increase the critical buckling load since lightweight designs compromise the critical buckling load, which is frequently the critical design point for ultra-large wind turbine blades. In this paper, the concept of local reinforcement is introduced as a new structural design concept to increase the buckling load. Moreover, its verification procedure and modeling methodology were studied and verified by application to a 3 MW wind turbine blade.

RF 스퍼터링법을 이용한 리튬이차전지용 Li[Li0.2Mn0.54Co0.13Ni0.13]O2 양극박막의 제조 및 전기적 특성

  • 최근 전기, 전자, 반도체 산업의 발전으로 전 고상 박막리튬전지는 초소형, 초경량의 마이크로 소자의 구현을 위한 고밀도 에너지원으로 각광받고 있다. 현재 양극박막은 대부분LCO(LiCoO2)계열이 이용되고 있으나, 코발트는 높은 가격과 인체 유해성 뿐만 아니라 상대적으로 낮은 용량(~140 mAh/g)등의 단점을 갖고 있어 향후 보다 고용량의 양극박막이 요구된다. 3원계 양극활물질 LiMO2(M=Co,Ni,Mn,etc.)은 우수한 충방전 효율 과 열적 안정성 뿐 아니라 277mAh/g의 높은 이론용량을 갖고 있어 고용량 양극박막으로의 적용시 고용량 박막이차전지 제작이 가능하다. 본 연구에서는 전 고상 박막 전지의 구현을 위하여 RF 스퍼터링법을 사용하여 Li[Li0.2Mn0.54Co0.13Ni0.13]O2 박막을 증착하였다. Li/MnCoNi의 몰 비율을 변화시켜 높은 전기화학적 특성을 갖는 분말을 합성하여 제조한 타겟으로 Pt/TiO2/SiO2/Si 기판위에 RF 스퍼터법을 이용하여 박막을 성장시켰다. 박막 증착 시 가스의 비율은 Ar:O2=3:1로 하고 증착 압력의 조절(0.005~0.02 torr)을 통하여 박막의 두께와 표면 특성을 조절하며 성장시켰다. 또한 박막을 다양한 온도에서($400{\sim}550^{\circ}C$) 열처리하여 결정화도와 전기화학적 특성을 측정하였다. 증착 된 박막의 구조적 특성은 X-ray diffraction(XRD) 과 scanning electron microscopy(SEM)로 관찰되었다. 박막의 전기화학적 특성 평가를 위하여 Cyclic voltammatry를 측정하여 가역성의 정도를 확인하고 WBC3000 battery cycler를 이용한 half-cell 테스트를 통하여 박막의 용량을 평가하였다.

Characteristics of (Sr,Ti)-doped $LaCrO_3$ Coating Layer for Ceramic Interconnect of Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (고체산화물 연료전지용 (Sr,Ti) 도핑된 $LaCrO_3$계 세라믹 연결재 코팅층의 특성 연구)

  • 고전도성 세라믹 연결재용 $La_{0.8}Sr_{0.2}Cr_{1-x}Ti_xO_3$ (X=0.1 and 0.2) 연결재 재료의 소결도와 전기전도도에 대해서 연구하였다. 이러한 목적으로 $LaCrO_3$, $La_{0.8}Sr_{0.2}Cr_{0.8}Ti_{0.2}O_3$ (LSCT82), $La_{0.8}Sr_{0.2}Cr_{0.9}Ti_{0.1}O_3$ (LSCT91) 분말들을 공침법을 통해 합성하였으며, 결정구조는 X-ray Diffraction(XRD)를 통해 확인하였다. 소결 특성은 주사 전자현미경을 통해 분석하였고 전기 전도도는 직렬 4-단자 법으로 측정하였다. 상대 밀도 분석으로부터 도핑된 $LaCrO_3$$LaCrO_3$보다 더 높은 소결성을 나타내었고, 입자 크기가 작을수록 소결성이 향상하는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 다양한 소결온도에서 얻은 LSC, LSTC 시편들의 XRD 결과는 LSC와 LSTC의 소결성이 2차상의 상전이와 밀접한 관련이 있다는 사실을 나타내었다. 다시 말해, LSTC는 $1300^{\circ}$이상 LSC는 $1400^{\circ}C$ 이상에서 2차상이 융해됨으로써 소결성을 현저하게 향상시킨다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 비슷한 상대밀도를 가진 LSC와 LSTC의 전기 전도도를 비교 측정한 결과, LSTC가 LSC보다 더 높은 전기 전도도를 나타낸다는 것을 알 수 있었다.
