  • A mixed method between $H_2\;and\;H_{\infty}$ control are widely applied to systems which has parameter perturbation and uncertain model to obtain an optimal robust controller. Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors are widely used for high performance control applications. Conventional PID controller only provides satisfactory performance for set-point regulation. However, with the presence of nonlinearities, uncertainties and perturbations in the system, conventional PID is not sufficient to achieve an optimal robust controller. This paper presents an approach to ease designing a Mixed $H_2/H_{\infty}$ PID controller for controlling speed of Brushless DC motors and the genetic algorithm is used to solve the optimized problems. Numerical results are shown to prove that the performance in the proposed controller is better than that in the optimal PID controller using LQR approach.

  • The objective of a mixed H$_{2}$/H$_{\infty}$ controller of active suspension system is to achieve not only the general performance improvement(H$_{2}$) but also the worst case disturbance rejection(H$_{\infty}$). In this paper, a mixed H$_{2}$/H$_{\infty}$ controller for an active suspension system, comparing the performance with that of an H$_{2}$ controller and of an H$_{\infty}$ controller.ler.EX> controller.

도립진자 시스템의 LFR에 의한 LMI 혼합 ${H_2}/H_{\infty}$ 제어 (The LMI mixed ${H_2}/H_{\infty}$ control of inverted pendulum system using LFR)

  • 본 논문은 도립전자 시스템을 LFR(Linear Fractional Representation)로 표현하여 얻어진 일반화 제어대상에 대하여 혼합 ${H_2}/H_{\infty}$ 제어기법을 적용한다. 먼저, 일반화 제어대상을 얻기 위하여, LFR로 표현한 도립진자의 선형 모델을 유도한다. LFR에서 고려한 구체적인 불확실성은 3개의 비선형 성분과 1개의 진자질량 불확실성이다. 유도된 선형모델에 하중함수를 더하여 LFR 모델을 확대함으로써 일반화된 제어대상을 얻는다. 다음으로, 이 일반화 제어대상에 대하여 혼합 ${H_2}/H_{\infty}$ 제어기를 설계한다. 혼합 ${H_2}/H_{\infty}$ 제어기 설계를 위해서 LMI(Linear Matrix Inequalities) 기법을 이요한다. 설계된 혼합 ${H_2}/H_{\infty}$ 제어기의 제어성능과 강건 안정성을 평가하기 위해서 모의실험과 실물실험을 통하여 $H_{\infty}$ 제어기와 비교한다. 실험결과, $H_{\infty}$ 제어때 보다 적은 피드백 정보만으로도 혼합 ${H_2}/H_{\infty}$ 제어기는 도립진자의 진자각도 측면에서 $H_{\infty}$ 제어기보다 나은 강건 안정성과 제어 성능을 보인다.

  • In this paper, the authors propose a new approach to control problem of the marine vessels which are moored or controlled by actuators. The vessel control problem in the specified area is called a DPS (Dynamic Positioning System). The main objective of this paper is to obtain more useful control design method for DPS. In this problem, a complicate fact is control allocation which is a numerical method for distributing the control signal to the controlled system. For this, many results have been given and verified by other researchers using two individual processes. It means that the controller design and control allocation design process are carried out individually. In this paper, the authors give more sophisticated design solution on this issue. In which the controller design and control allocation problem are unified by a robust controller design problem. In other word, the stability of the closed-loop system, control performance and allocation problem are unified by an LMI (Linear Matrix Inequality) constraint based on $H_2/H_{\infty}$ mixed design framework. The usefulness of proposed approach is verified by simulation with a supply vessel model and found works well.

Parametric Optimization Procedure for Robust Flight Control System Design

  • This paper is devoted to the parameter optimization of unmanned aerial vehicle's (UAV) flight control laws. Optimization procedure is based on the ideas of mixed $H_2/H_{\infty}$ control of multi-model plants. By using this approach, some partial $H_2$-terms defining the performance of nominal and parametrically perturbed Flight Control System (FCS) responses to deterministic command signals in stochastic atmosphere as well as $H_{\infty}$-terms defining robustness of the FCS can be incorporated in the composite cost function. Special penalty function imposed on the location of closed-loop system's poles keeps the speed of response and oscillatory properties for both nominal and perturbed FCS in reasonable limits. That is the reason why this procedure may provide reasonable trade-off between the performance and robustness of FCS that are very important especially for UAV. Its practical importance is illustrated by case studies of lateral and longitudinal control of small UAV.

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose an approach to design a robust servo controller based on the Mixed H$_2$/H$\sub$$\infty$/ theory. In order to do this, we first modify the generalized plant for the usual H$\sub$$\infty$/ servo problem to a structure of the Mixed H$_2$/H$\sub$$\infty$/ minimization problem by virtue of the internal model principle. By doing this, we can divide specifications adopted for robust servo system design into H$_2$and H$\sub$$\infty$/ performance criteria, respectively. Then, the mixed H$_2$/H$\sub$$\infty$/ problem is solved in order to find the best solution, by which we can minimize H$_2$-norm of the transfer function under the condition of H$\sub$$\infty$/-norm value, through Linear Matrix Equality (LMI).

  • This paper presents an LMI-based method to design a saturated state-feedback $H_2$ controller for uncertain systems with actuator saturation. Specifically, the paper proposes a sufficient condition such that the system under norm-bounded uncertainties and actuator saturation is asymptotically stable and the $H_2$-norm of the system has an upper-bound. The resulting condition is further utilized to solve a convex optimization problem specified in the context of $H_2$-norm minimization, whose solution yields a saturated $H_2$ controller. A numerical example is presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

ROBUST MIXED $H_2/H_{\infty}$ GUARANTEED COST CONTROL OF UNCERTAIN STOCHASTIC NEUTRAL SYSTEMS

  • In this paper, we deal with the robust mixed $H_2/H_{\infty}$ guaranteed-cost control problem involving uncertain neutral stochastic distributed delay systems. More precisely, the aim of this problem is to design a robust mixed $H_2/H_{\infty}$ guaranteed-cost controller such that the close-loop system is stochastic mean-square exponentially stable, and an $H_2$ performance measure upper bound is guaranteed, for a prescribed $H_{\infty}$ attenuation level ${\gamma}$. Therefore, the fast convergence can be fulfilled and the proposed controller is more appealing in engineering practice. Based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional theory, new delay-dependent sufficient criteria are proposed to guarantee the existence of a desired robust mixed $H_2/H_{\infty}$ guaranteed cost controller, which are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs). Furthermore, the design problem of the optimal robust mixed $H_2/H_{\infty}$ guaranteed cost controller, which minimized an $H_2$ performance measure upper bound, is transformed into a convex optimization problem with LMIs constraints. Finally, two simulation examples illustrate the design procedure and verify the expected control performance.

Current situation and control strategies of H9N2 avian influenza in South Korea

  • The H9N2 avian influenza (AI) has become endemic in poultry in many countries since the 1990s, which has caused considerable economic losses in the poultry industry. Considering the long history of the low pathogenicity H9N2 AI in many countries, once H9N2 AI is introduced, it is more difficult to eradicate than high pathogenicity AI. Various preventive measures and strategies, including vaccination and active national surveillance, have been used to control the Y439 lineage of H9N2 AI in South Korea, but it took a long time for the H9N2 virus to disappear from the fields. By contrast, the novel Y280 lineage of H9N2 AI was introduced in June 2020 and has spread nationwide. This study reviews the history, genetic and pathogenic characteristics, and control strategies for Korean H9N2 AI. This review may provide some clues for establishing control strategies for endemic AIV and a newly introduced Y280 lineage of H9N2 AI in South Korea.

인공위성 자세제어를 위한 H-infinity 제어기 설계 알고리즘 비교 연구 (Comparison Study of H-infinity Controller Design Algorithms for Spacecraft Attitude Control)

  • 폐루프 기준으로 $H_{\infty}$ 제어기를 설계하는 알고리즘에는 3가지(2-ARE, mu-synthesis, LMI) 방법이 있다. 본 논문에서 3가지 $H_{\infty}$ 제어기 설계 알고리즘에 대한 기초 이론을 종합하고, Matlab$^{TM}$에 구현된 함수가 사용될 경우, 실무입장에서 가장 적절하다고 판단되는 $H_{\infty}$ 제어기 설계 알고리즘 제시를 위해 인공위성 자세 제어기 설계 후 결과를 비교 분석하였다: 2-ARE 방법과 LMI 방법은 robust stability, robust performance 및 control authority 측면에서 거의 유사하였으나, LMI 방법에 비해 2-ARE 방법이 weighting 함수설계에 더 민감하였고, mu-synthesis 방법은 다른 2가지 설계 방법에 비해 성능면에서 다소 떨어지고, control authority가 크게 나타났다. 따라서 인공위성 자세제어 설계를 위해 실무 관점에서 LMI 방법이 더 편리한 설계 알고리즘이라는 결론을 얻었다.
