  • With the diversified and enlarged softwares, the issue of software maintenance became more complex and difficult consequently, the cost of software maintenance took up the highest portion in the software life cycle. At the same time, in order to develop or use software for general computers the development environment will be changed to incorporate user-friendly 4GL (Fourth generation Language). Therefore, it is required to take a closer look at the languages such as COBOL, C, FORTRAN, PASCAL which have source code comprised of 4GL and investigate the method of analysis and reuse for program understanding since a lot of research has been done with these languages in program maintenance. The purpose of this paper is to propose reverse engineering tool in 4GL and find an effective way of understanding and maintaining the program by transforming source code comprised of 4GL to meta language and designing and implementing Document Generator, Report Generator, Module Generator, Code Translator for program understanding.

  • An important task for any software project manager is to be able to predict and control project size. Unfortunately, there is comparatively little work that deals with the problem of building estimation methods for software size in fourth-generation languages systems. In this paper, we propose a new estimation method for estimating for software size based on minimum relative error(MRE) criterion. The characteristic of the proposed method is insensitive to the extreme values of the observed measures which can be obtained early in the development life cycle. In order to verify the performance of the proposed estimation method for software size in terms of both quality of fit and predictive quality, the experiments has been conducted for the dataset I and II, respectively. For the data set I and II, our proposed estimation method was shown to be superior to the traditional method LS and RLS in terms of both the quality of fit and predictive quality when applied to data obtained from actual software development projects.

  • The traditional calculation of gestation length (GL) in Holstein cows relies solely on the insemination day and has a high error rate for actual calving dates. The present study was conducted to develop a more accurate method of estimating GL. Among 3,578 Holstein cows, the number of fetuses had a significant (p < 0.05) effect, with GLs of 282.4 ± 2.5 days for singletons and 276.0 ± 1.6 days for twins. Within the singleton group, the GLs were 284.6 ± 1.9 days for males and 280.3 ± 1.5 days for females, a significant difference (p < 0.05). However, within the twin group, there was no difference in GLs among twin males, twin females, or twins of both sexes. Gestation was significantly shorter for singleton males born from June to August but significantly longer for twin males born in the May to June period (p < 0.05). Neither parity nor housing type was associated with any significant difference in GL. In order to predict the calving dates of Holstein cows accurately and improve their management, calculations should consider the number and sex of fetuses as well as the insemination season.

  • Plackett-Burman (PB) and Box-Behnken (BB) experimental designs were used to optimize fermentation variables for the biotransformation of glycyrrhizin (GL) to monoglucuronyl-glycyrrhetinic acid (MGGA). The PB design was first used to screen the important factors among the medium variables. The steepest ascent method was used to approach the optimum range for each of these factors. The BB design was finally used to analyze the response surfaces of the screened factors for further optimization. The optimized conditions for this system were 0.7 g/L $MgSO_4{\cdot}7H_2O$, 1.19 g/L GL, and cultivation for six days. The biotransformation of GL to MGGA could reach up to 35.72%, which is a good result for this kind of transformation.

  • The net shape effects by the various vectors in underwater. Each particle of the net calculating the effect of all vectors augments an accuracy and reality. But, the time complexity becomes larger because of huge calculation. The previous techniques reduced a physics reality. And embodied the underwater virtual reality which augments visual reality with simulation. In this paper, parallel processing the particles, it embodied the simulation which is satisfied a physical reality and time reality. The parallel processing used the OpenMP, and the reality graphic expression used the OpenGL. The simulation which this paper Proposes will be the possibility becoming the fundamental data for a model analysis or a specialist system from game and marine field.

  • In this paper, two-stage pipelined floating-point multiplier (FP-MUL) is designed. The FP-MUL processor supports single precision multiplication for 3D graphic APIs, such as OpenGL and Direct3D and has area-efficient and low-latency architecture via saturated arithmetic, area-efficient sticky-bit generator, and flagged prefix adder. The FP-MUL has about 4-ns delay time under $0.13{\mu}m$ CMOS standard cell library and consists of about 7,500 gates. Because its maximum performance is about 250 MFLOPS, it can be applicable to mobile 3D graphics application.

  • Mushroom strains of Polyporales from the genera Coriolus, Trametes, Pycnoporus, Ganoderma, and Formitella were explored in terms of mycelial growth characteristics for the application of mushroom mycelia as alternative sources of materials replacing fossil fuel-based materials. Among the 64 strains of Polyporales, G. lucidum LBS5496GL was selected as the best candidate because it showed fast mycelial growth with high mycelial strength in both the sawdust-based solid medium and the potato dextrose liquid plate medium. Some of the Polyporales in this study have shown good mycelial growth, however, they mostly formed mycelial mat of weak physical strength. The higher physical strength of mycelial mat by G. lucidum LBS5496GL was attributed to its thick hyphae with the diameter of 13 mm as revealed by scanning electron microscopic analysis whereas the hyphae of others exhibited less than 2 mm. Glycerol and skim milk supported the best mycelial growth of LBS5496GL as a carbon and a nitrogen source, respectively.

  • This study was initiated to investigate the applicability of the dredged soil from agricultural reservoirs on the crop cultivation. Four reservoirs were selected for this experiment, and properties of the dredged soils were analyzed physically and chemically. Soil textures were sandy loam(SL), silty loam(SiL), gravelly loam(GL), graveHy silty loam(GSiL), respectively. General chemical components, organic matter contents, main cations, heavy metals, etc. showed no adverse effects on crop growth. Tomato, cucumber, radish, Chinese cabbage were cultivated during 8 months period, in the soil treated with fertilizer and compost(Tmt.1), fertilizer(Tmt.2), compost(Tmt.3) and none (Tmt.4). Data for plant height, root zone depth and crop yield were collected and analyzed, and the yield for most crops showed increase as Tmt.1 >Tmt.2>Tmt.3>Tmt.4 by fertilizing methods, and as GL>GSiL>SL>SiL by soil textures. From the results, the crop cultivation using dredged soil was considered to be effective, due to its soil texture, organic matter content and fertilization.

  • A GFRP based composite blade was developed for a 2MW wind energy conversion system of type class IIA. The blade sectional geometry was designed to have a general shell-spar and shear web structure. The load cases specified in the IEC61400-1 international specification were considered. For withstanding all relevant extreme loads, the structural analysis for the complete blade was performed using a commercial FEM code. The static load carrying capacity, blade tip deflection and natural frequencies were evaluated to satisfy the strength and stability requirements in accordance with the IEC61400-1 and GL Regulations. The prototype blade was passed the structural proof test for GL certification.
