산업부산물을 활용한 산성폐수 내 중금속 제거용 다기능성 세라믹 소재의 개발 (Development of Multi-functional Ceramics for Removal of Heavy Metals in Acid Wastewater using Industrial By-product)

  • This study developed a new ceramics in which natural zeolite was mixed and calcined with industrial by-product such as converter slag, red mud, and fly ash and evaluated the feasibility of the ceramics for removal of heavy metals in acid wastewater. The removal rate of heavy metal by ceramics increased in the order of ZS (zeolite and slag) > ZR (zeolite and red mud) > ZF (zeolite and fly ash) ceramics. The alkalinity increment and coherence of ceramics were increased in the order of ZS > ZR > ZF ceramics. The mixing ratio of natural zeolite to industrial by-product for maximum removal efficiency of heavy metal was 1:1 for ZS ceramics and 1:3 for ZR and ZF ceramics. The order of removal efficiency of heavy metal was observed to be ZS > ZR > ZF ceramics under the mixing ratio of 1:1 for ZS ceramics and 1:3 for ZR and ZF ceramics. The removal efficiency of heavy metal by ZS ceramics with 1:1 mixing ratio was Al 100%, Cd 54.6%, Cr 99.9%, Cu 98.7%, Fe 99.9%, Mn 42.2%, Ni 59.9%, Pb 99.8%, Zn 87.6%, respectively. In addition, the removal capacity of heavy metal by ZS ceramics was observed to be Al 2.01 mM/g, Cd 0.27 mM/g, Cr 1.02 mM/g, Cu 0.83 mM/g, Fe 0.95 mM/g, Mn 0.41 mM/g, Ni 0.55 mM/g, Pb 0.25 mM/g, Zn 0.70 mM/g, respectively. The comparative evaluation in the light of removal capacity, alkalinity increment, and coherence of ceramics showed the ZS ceramics had higher feasibility as a media than others for removal of heavy metals in acid wastewater.

제강슬래그, 우분 및 석회석을 활용한 폐 석탄광의 산성광산배수 처리 (Remediation of Acid Mine Drainage from an Abandoned Coal Mine Using Steel Mill Slag, Cow Manure and Limestone)

  • 중금속과 황산이온의 농도가 높은 산성광산배수(AMD)를 배출하는 강원도 정선군에 위치한 삼척탄좌 정암광업소 유출수를 대상으로 제강 슬래그, 우분 및 석회석 등을 활용하여 처리실험을 수행하였다. Batch test와 적용성 시험 결과, 원수 1 L당 15 g의 제강 슬래그, 15 g의 우분 및 500 g의 석회석이 최적의 기질물질 양으로 조사되었다. 이를 기초로 제강 슬래그, 우분과 석회석으로 충진한 SAPS조, 침전조, 산화조 순서로 구성된 처리시스템을 구성하였다. 총 54일간 시행된 실험결과, 원수에 비해 pH의 상승(3.0에서 8.3)과 더불어 61%의 황산염이온 농도가 저감되었다 (1,042 mg/L에서 409 mg/L). 또한, 초기농도 대비 최종 방류수의 중금속 처리효율은 매우 높은 수준으로써 99.9% 이상의 Al, Fe, Zn과 92.6% Mn이 제거되었다. 즉, 제강 슬래그, 우분 및 석회석을 활용하면 산성광산수의 중화와 금속 침전효과를 얻을 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • 밤나무의 밤꽃과 밤잎의 추출물의 항균활성을 검색하기 위하여, 이들의 화학성분을 분석하였다. 유리당 함량은 밤꽃에는 sucrose와 maltose가 많은 반면, 밤잎에는 sucrose, glucose, fructose가 가장 많았다. 탄닌은 밤잎에 1.98%, 밤꽃은 0.16%로 밤잎이 12배정도 많았다. 지방산 조성은 밤꽂과 밤잎에 linoleic acid가 가장 많았다. 밤꽃의 불포화 지방산은 61.4%, 포화 지방산은 23.1% 였으며, 밤잎은 불포화 지방산이 76.4%, 포화 지방산이 17.1%로 나타나 밤잎이 불포화 지방산 함량이 높았다. 유기산 함량은 밤꽃에 malic acid, citric acid, succinic acid, oxalic acid의 많은 순이나, 밤잎은 succinic acid, citric acid, malic acid, oxalic acid 순으로 나타났다. 아미노산 조성은 밤꽃에는 aspartic acid와 proline이 가장 많았고, 밤잎은 aspartic acid가 가장 많았으며, 아미노산의 총함량은 밤꽃이 230.33mg/100g 인데 비하여 밤잎은 1,550.36mg/100g로 약 6.7배나 높았다. 무기질은 밤꽃과 밤잎 모두에 K가 가장 많았으며, 다음은 Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, Al의 순으로 나타났다. 비타민은 밤꽃과 밤잎 중에ascorbic acid가 각각 5.2 mg/100 g 및 6.4 mg/100 g 함유하고 있었으며, 다른 비타민은 모두 trace로 나타났다.

Characterization of the Galvanizing Behavior Depending on Annealing Dew Point and Chemical Composition in Dual-Phase Steels

  • The characteristics of selective oxidation prior to hot-dip galvanizing with the annealing atmosphere dew point and chemical composition in dual-phase steels and their effect on the inhibition layer formation relevant to coating adhesion have been studied using a combination of electron microscopic and surface analytical techniques. The annealed and also galvanized samples of 3 kinds of Si/Mn ratios with varied amounts of Si addition were prepared by galvanizing simulator. The dew point was controlled at soaking temperature $800^{\circ}C$ in 15%$H_2$ -85%$N_2$ atmosphere. It was shown that good adhesion factors were mainly uniformity of oxide particle distribution of low number density and low Si/Mn ratio prior to hot-dip galvanizing. Their effect was the greatly reduced coating bare spots and the formation of uniform inhibition layer leading to good adhesion of Zn overlay. The mechanism of good adhesion is suggested by two processes: the formation of inhibition layer on the oxide free surface uncovered with no $SiO_2$-containing particles in particular, and the inhibition layer bridging of oxide particles. The growth of inhibition layer was enhanced markedly by the delayed reaction of Fe and Al with the increase of Si/Mn ratio.

Al-5%Mg계 주조합금의 물성 및 시효경화특성에 미치는 합금원소의 영향 (Effects of Alloying Elements on the Properties and Aging Hardening of Al-5%Mg Based Casting Alloys)

  • The microstructure of Al-5%Mg based alloy mainly consists of aluminum matrix with a small amount of AlMn phase. The addition of Sc or Zn to the base alloy significantly improved the as-cast tensile strength, while the addition of Fe deteriorated both strength and ductility. Although the Al-5%Mg based alloy was not heat-treatable, aging hardening could be observed in the case that Sc or Zn was added to the base alloy. TEM analysis showed that very fine AlSc or AlMgZn precipitates were formed after T6 heat treatment, resulting in enhanced strength. The corrosion resistance measured as corrosion potential was found to decrease a little by adding Zn, whereas other alloying elements were not clearly influential.

  • Twinning-induced plasticity (TWIP) steels have attracted great attention due to their excellent mechanical properties of high tensile strength (over 800MPa) and high ductility (over 50%), which result from the high strain hardening due to the mechanical twin formation during plastic deformation. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of annealing temperature and alloying elements on the mechanical properties of Fe-18Mn-0.6C TWIP steel. In 1.5%Al TWIP steel with 0.123%Ti content, the average recrystallized grain size was reduced to 2.5 ${\mu}m$ by cold rolling and annealing at $800^{\circ}C$ for 5 min, because of the pinning effect of the fine TiC carbides on grain coarsening. The tensile strength was decreased and the ductility was improved with the increase of the annealing temperature. However, a reversion of hardness and yield strength happened between $750^{\circ}C$ and $800^{\circ}C$ due to TiC and $M_3C$ type precipitation. 0.56% Ni added TWIP steel exhibited relatively lower yield strength, because Ni precipitates were not formed during the annealing process. When this specimen was annealed at $800^{\circ}C$ for 5min, the tensile strength and elongation were revealed at 1096MPa and 61.8%, respectively.

Surface Oxidation of High Strength Automotive Steels during Continuous Annealing, and the Influence of Trace Elements of P,B, and Sb

  • In continuous hot dip galvanizing process, oxide formation on steel surface has an influence on Zn wetting. High strength automotive steel contains high amount of Si and Mn, where Si-Mn composite oxides such as $Mn_2SiO_4$ or $MnSiO_3$ covers the surface after annealing. Zn wetting depends on how the aluminothermia reaction can reduce the Mn-Si composite oxides and then form inhibition layer such as $Fe_2Al_5$ on the steel surface. The outward diffusion of metallic ions such as $Mn^{2+}$, $Si^{2+}$ in the steel matrix is very important factor for the formation of the surface oxides on the steel surface. The surface state and grain boundaries provide an important role for the diffusion and the surface oxide reactions. Some elements such as P, Sb, and B have a strong affinity for the interface precipitation, and it influence the diffusivity of metallic ions on grain boundaries. B oxide forms very rapildly on the steel surface during the annealing, and this promote complex oxides with $SiO_2$ or MnO. P has inter-reacted with other elements on the grain boundaries and influence the diffusion through on them. Small addition of Sb could suppress the decarburization from steel surface and retards the formation of internal and external selective oxides on the steel surface. Interface control by the trace elements such as Sb could be available to improve the Zn wettability during the hot dip galvanizing.

  • (1) Inorganic paper chromatography를 삼근회분(蔘根灰分)의 계통분석(系統分析)에 응용(應用)했으며 소량(少量)의 회분(灰分)으로 일제분석(一齊分析)이 가능(可能)하였다. (2) 계통분석(系統分析)에는 6족법(族法)으로 하였으며, Hg, Pb, Cd, Cu, As, Sb, Al, Fe, Co, Mn, Zn, Ca, Na, K 등의 양(陽) ion이 삼근회분중(蔘根灰分中)에서 검출(檢出)되었다. 경상도 일대의 폐탄광 갱내수의 수질 특성 연구 (A Study on mine drainage characteristcs as abandoned Coal mine in Gyeongsang province)

  • There are 21 abondoned coal mines drained out mine water in gyeong sang do. We monitored the water quality of 31 mine drainage from 1995. The most of mine drainage was neutral as the average pH was 6.22 and Fe, Mn, Al concentration was below 10mg/L. The result showed the tendency of decreasing of flow and metal concentration. The highest Mn concentration was detected in bonghwa area and the hightest Fe concentration was detected in munkyung area. It means that the water quality is closly related to geological features.

기반암에 따른 나주지역 하상퇴적물의 지구화학적 특성 (Geochemical Characteristics of Stream Sediments Based on Bed Rocks in the Naju Area, Korea)

  • 본 연구는 나주지역 하상퇴적물에 대한 지구화학적 특성 연구이다. 이를 위해 1차 수계를 대상으로 139개의 하상퇴적물 시료를 채취하였다. 채취된 시료는 실험실에서 자연 건조시켰으며, XRF, ICP-AES, NAA를 이용하여 화학분석을 실시하였다. 기반암에 따른 지구화학적 특성을 알아보기 위하여, 화강암질편마암 지역, 편암류 지역, 화강암류 지역, 사질암 지역, 응회암 지역, 안산암 지역, 유문암 지역으로 분류하였다. 나주지역 하상퇴적물의 지질집단별 주성분원소 평균함량은 $SiO_2\;58.37{\sim}66.06wt.%,\;Al_2O_3\;13.98{\sim}18.41wt.%,\;Fe_2O_3\;4.09{\sim}6.10wt.%,\;CaO\;0.54{\sim}1.33wt.%,\;MgO\;0.86{\sim}1.34wt.%,\;K_2O\;2.38{\sim}4.01wt.%,\;Na_2O\;0.90{\sim}1.32wt.%,\;TiO_2\;0.82{\sim}1.03wt.%,\;MnO\;0.09{\sim}0.15wt.%,\;P_2O_5\;0.11{\sim}0.18wt.%$이다. 주성분원소의 평균함량 비교에서 $Al_2O_3$$K_2O$는 화강암질편마암 지역에서, $Fe_2O_3,\;CaO,\;P_2O_5$는 응회암 지역에서, MgO와 $TiO_2$는 안산암 지역에서, $Na_2O$는 유문암 지역에서 높고, $SiO_2$와 MnO 함량은 사질암 지역에서 약간 높다. 미량성분 및 희토류원소의 지질집단별 평균함량은 $Ba\;1278{\sim}1469ppm,\;Be\;1.1{\sim}1.5ppm,\;Cu\;18{\sim}25ppm,\;Nb\;25{\sim}37ppm,\;Ni\;16{\sim}25ppm,\;Pb\;21{\sim}28ppm,\;Sr\;83{\sim}155ppm,\;V\;64{\sim}98ppm,\;Zr\;83{\sim}146ppm,\;Li\;32{\sim}45ppm,\;Co\;7.2{\sim}12.7ppm,\;Cr\;37{\sim}76ppm,\;Cs\;4.8{\sim}9.1ppm,\;Hf\;7.5{\sim}25ppm,\;Rb\;88{\sim}178ppm,\;Sc\;7.7{\sim}12.6ppm,\;Zn\;83{\sim}143ppm,\;Pa\;11.3{\sim}37ppm,\;Ce\;69{\sim}206ppm,\;Eu\;1.1{\sim}1.5ppm,\;Yb\;1.8{\sim}4.4ppm$이다. Pb, Li, Cs, Hf, Rb, Sb, Pa, Ce, Eu, Yb 평균함량은 화강암질편마암 지역에서, Ba, Co, Cr 평균함량은 편암류 지역에서, Nb, Ni, Zr 평균함량은 사질암 지역에서, Sr 평균함량은 응회암 지역에서 높고, Be, Cu, V, Sc, Zn 평균함량은 안산암 지역에서 다른 지질집단에서 보다 높다.
