Cu/ZnO/Cr2O3/Al2O3 촉매를 이용한 이산화탄소의 수소화 연구 (A Study on the Hydrogenation of CO2 Using Cu/ZnO/Cr2O3/Al2O3 Catalysts)

  • 지구온난화를 방지하기 위하여 대기중에 방출되는 이산화탄소를 고정화시키는 기술의 하나로 이산화탄소를 접촉수소화시키는 연구를 수행하였다. 수소화 촉매로는 $Cu/ZnO/Cr_2O/Cr_2O_3/Al_2O_3$를 기본으로 하여 여기에 팔라듐을 추가한 촉매들을 이용하였으며, 200서 $350^{\circ}C$ 사이의 온도에서 상압 및 고압의 조건에서 수소화 반응을 행하였다. 그 결과 수소화 반응에 가장 적합한 반응조건은 반응온도 $250^{\circ}C$, 반응압력 30기압 이상에서 메탄올의 선택도와 수율이 제일 좋았다. 그러나 예상한 바와는 달리 팔라듐의 첨가에 의한 반응성의 향상은 없었다.

Si 첨가가 TiAl 합금의 내산화성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Si on the High Temperature Oxidation of TiAl Alloys)

  • Arc-melted alloys of TiAl-(o.25, 0.5, 1.0at%) Si were isothermally oxidized at 800, 900 and $1000^{\circ}C$ in air for 60hr. It was found that the oxidation resistance of the prepared TiAl-Si alloys was much better than that of pure TiAl, being progressively increasing with an increase in the Si content. This was attributed to the formation of $SiO_2$in addition to ($TiO_2$+$Al_2$$O_3$) oxides which formed in TiAl alloys with and without silicon additions. However, the silica formation within the oxide layer unfortunately accelerated the oxide scale spallations. During oxidation, all the elements in the base alloy diffused outward, whereas oxygen from the atmosphere diffused inward. The oxides were primarily composed of an outer thick $TiO_2$layer, an intermediate diffuse $Al_2$$O_3$layer and an inner $TiO_2$layer. A small amount of $SiO_2$was present all over the oxide scale and some voids were found around the intermediate layer.

  • We fabricated two different transparent conducting oxide thin films of ZnO doped with Ga ($Ga_2O_3$ 0.9 wt%) as well as Al ($Al_2O_3$ 2.1 wt%) (GAZO) and ZnO doped only with Al ($Al_2O_3$ 3 wt%) (AZO). It was investigated how it affects the moisture resistance of the transparent electrode. In addition, $Cu(In,Ga)Se_2$ thin film solar cells with two transparent oxides as front electrodes were fabricated, and the correlation between humidity resistance of transparent electrodes and device performance of solar cells was examined. When both transparent electrodes were exposed to high temperature distilled water, they showed a rapid increase in sheet resistance and a decrease in the fill factor of the solar cell. However, AZO showed a drastic decrease in efficiency at the beginning of exposure, while GAZO showed that the deterioration of efficiency occurred over a long period of time and that the long term moisture resistance of GAZO was better.

고온용 ZnO계 열전 재료의 방전플라즈마 소결 특성 및 미세구조 (Sintering Characteristics of ZnO Fabricated by Spark Plasma Sintering Process for High Temperature Thermoelectric Materials Application)

  • 방전 플라즈마 소결법(SPS: Spark Plasma Sintering)을 이용하여 800~100$0^{\circ}C$의 낮은 소결 온도에서 완전 치밀화를 이루는 M-doped ZnO를 (M=Al, Ni) 제조하여 그 소결 특성과 미세구조를 분석하였다. 전자현미경 분석 결과, NiO의 첨가는 ZnO 결정격자와의 고용체 형성을 촉진시키고 결정립 성장을 유발하였고, A1$_2$O$_3$는 순수한 ZnO 소결 시 나타나는 입계에서의 증발현상을 제어하고, 이차상 형성을 통하여 결정립 성장을 억제함을 확인할 수 있었다 NiO와 $Al_2$O$_3$를 동시에 첨가한 시편이 가장 우수한 미세구조가 형성됨을 확인하였고, SEM-EBSP (Electron Back-scattered Diffraction Pattern) 분석 결과 또한 우수한 결정립계 분포를 가지고 있음을 확인하였다. 이러한, 소결체의 우수한 미세구조적 특징은 carrier 농도 증가에 따른 전기 전도도와 증가 및 phonon scattering 효과에 의한 열전도도의 감소 효과를 유발하여 ZnO의 열전 특성을 향상시키리라 사료된다.

졸-겔법을 이용한 Al2O3가 분산된 TZP 단섬유의 제조 (Fabrication of Discontinuous Al2O3-Dispersed TZP Fibers by a Sol-Gel Method)

  • Discontinuous, polycrystalline $Al_2O_3$-dispersed TZP fibers were prepared by the centrifugal spinning of a colloidal $ZrO_2$ sol containing Y and Al nitrates and poly(vinyl alcohol). Factors affecting the rheological properties of the sols, such as sol concentrations, aging, and the amounts and types of additives, were investigated by measuring the shear viscosities. The flow characteristics of the sols were studied in relation to the spinnability by measuring the viscosity with respect to the shear rate. The spinnability was obtained through the addition of a polymer which increases the viscosity to a range of optimum viscosity values for spinning. Aging the sols containing the additives did not noticeably change the sol viscosities at room temperature up to 30 days. The flow behavior of the spinnable sols progressively changed from nearly Newtonian to pseudoplastic with an increase in the sol concentration.

탄소섬유와 SiC 휘스커를 혼합한 $Al/Al_2O_3$ 복합재료의 마멸특성 (Wear Characterization of $Al/Al_2O_3$ Composites Reinforced with Hybrid of Carbon Fibers and SiC Whiskers)

  • The Al/Al$_{2}$O$_{3}$ SiC and Al/Al$_{2}$O$_{3}$/C hybrid metal matrix composites (MMCs) were fabricated by squeeze infiltration method. Uniform distribution of reinforcements were found in the microstructure of metal matrix composites. Mechanical tests were carried out under various test conditions to clearly identify mechanical behavior of MMCs, and the wear mechanism of Al/Al$_{2}$O$_{3}$/(SiC or C) hybrid metal matrix composites were investigated. The tensile strength and hardness of hybrid composites was resulted in increasing compared with those of the unreinforced matrix alloy. Wear resistance was strongly dependent upon kinds of fiber, volume fraction and sliding speed. The wear resistance of metal matrix composites was remarkably improved by the addition of reinforcements. Especially, the wear resistance of the hybrid composites of carbon fibers was more effective than in the composites reinforced with alumina and SiC whiskers of reinforcements. This was due to the effect of carbon fiber on the solid lubrication. Wear mechanisms of hybrid composites were suggested from wear surface analyses. The major wear mechanism of hybrid composites was the abrasive wear at low to intermediate sliding speed, and the melting wear at intermediate to high sliding speed.

투명 결정화유리에 관한 연구 MgO-$Al_2O_3$-$SiO_2$계에 대하여 (A Study on the Transparent Glass-Ceramics on the MgO-$Al_2O_3$-$SiO_2$ System)

  • The composition of base glass was selected as MgO 8, Al2O3 24, SiO2 68 in weight percent. TiO2 and ZrO2 were added to the base glass to investigate their effects as nucleating agents. In the case of ZrO2 addition, the optimum temperature for nucleation, which was related to the precipitation of tetragonal ZrO2, was 80$0^{\circ}C$. The optimum growth condition for the crystal was 87$0^{\circ}C$ for 8 hrs, and the major crystal phases precipitated in the samples were $\beta$-quartz ss. and mullite. The light transmissivity turned out to be around 80 per cent. On the other hand, when the TiO2 was added, it was difficult to determine the nucleating temperature, because the samples turned easily into translucency during the heat treatment. Therefore, it was almost impossible to retain transparency in the samples. The light transmissivity was below 30 per cent.

소결조제와 열처리 분위기가 $(1-x)CaTiO_3-xLaAlO_3$ 계의 소결 및 마이크로파 유전특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Sintering Additives and Annealing Atmospheres on the Microwave Dielectric and Sintering Characteristics of $(1-x)CaTiO_3-xLaAlO_3$ System)

  • The effects of the annealing atmospheres(O2, N2) and sintering additives that Bi2O3 is a major composition on the microwave dielectric and sintering propertie of (1-x)CaTiO3-xLaAlO3 system were investigated. The annealing atmospheres and the increase of annealing time after sintering did not affect the relative dielectric constant($\varepsilon$r) and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency($\tau$f) of (1-x)CaTiO3-xLaAlO3 system. However, the Q.f0 values of (1-x)CaTiO3-xLaAlO3 were very sensitive to annealing atmospheres. As the annealing time increased under O2 atmosphere the Q.f0 values of (1-x)CaTiO3-xLaAlO3 enhanced untill 10 hrs in 0.3$\leq$x$\leq$0.6 region, but degraded over that time. The increasing rate of Q.f0 value increased wth increasing x. On the other hand, as the annealing time increased under N2 atmosphere the Q.f0 values were constant in x$\leq$0.6 region, increased gradually in x$\geq$0.7 region. When 0.97Bi2O3-0.03Al2O3 and 0.76Bi2O3-0.24NiO of 3wt% as sintering additives were added to (Ca0.5La0.5) (Ti0.5Al0.5)O3 (x=0.5) the sintering temperature of 1$600^{\circ}C$ was lowered to 140$0^{\circ}C$, and the relative dielectric constant($\varepsilon$r) and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency($\tau$f) were not nearly changed. The addition of 0.97Bi2O3-0.03Al2O3 and 0.76Bi2O3-0.24NiO of 3wt% to (Ca0.5La0.5)(Ti0.5Al0.5)O3 made the Q.f0 values to be lower about 15% and 34%, respectively.

알루미나 첨가에 의한 질화규소의 방전 플라즈마 소결 거동과 상전이 특성 및 기게적 특성에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Al2O3 addition on the Characteristics of Sintering Behavior, Phase Transformation and Mechanical Properties of Spark Plasma Sintered Si3N4 Ceramics)

  • Silicon nitride($Si_3N_4)$ is one of the most widely used structural ceramic materials. However silicon nitride is difficult to sinter because of its strong covalent bonding characteristics. In this study, $Si_3N_4$ ceramics were fabricated by spark plasma sintering process with $Y_2O_3$ and $Al_2O_3$ addition to improve the sinterability and the mechanical properties and their phase transformation behavior, microstructure and mechanical properties were evaluated. Fully densified $Si_3N_4$ ceramics could be obtained by spark plasma sintering process at a lower temperature than conventional sintering method. The formation of network microstructure was affected by the addition of $Al_2O_3$ because it could accelerate a to ${\alpha}$ to ${\beta}$ phase transformation of $Si_3N_4$. As a result, the mechanical properties depended on amounts of $Al_2O_3$ addition. The hardness value increased with increasing ${\alpha}$-phase fraction, but fracture toughness value increase with increasing ${\beta}$-phase fraction.

t-ZrO$_2$/Al$_2$O$_3$복합체 상 안정성에 대한 Eu$_2$O$_3$첨가 효과 (Effect of EuO$_3$addition on hydrothermal stability of t-ZrO$_2$/Al$_2$O$_3$composites)

  • 생체적합성과 상 안정성이 우수한 t-$ZrO_2/Al_2O_3$복합체에 $Eu_2O_3$을 0~4 mol%첨가한 복합체를 $1600^{\circ}C$ 온도에서 1 시간 소결하여 상 안정성, 색상변화, 기계적 특성을 조사하였다. $180^{\circ}C$, 3.5MPa의 수증기 압력 하에서 20시간 열처리 후 X-선 회절법으로 관찰한 결과 $Eu_2O_3$가 첨가된 (Y,Nb,Eu)-TZP/$Al_2O_3$복합체는 우수한 상 안정성이 유지되었다. $Eu_2O_3$의 양이 증가함에 따라 백색계통의 상아색에서 미색의 핑크색으로 서서히 변화하였다 $Eu_2O_3$가 3 mol%까지 첨가된 복합체의 경우 620MPa, 7.6MPa.$m^{1/2}$ 이상의 강도와 인성값이 관찰되었다.
