  • Dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) 생산과정의 부산물로서 폐기 처리되어왔던 methyl 4-formylbenzoate (MFB)를 출발 물질로하여 고급 형광증백제 family인 Uvitex FP와 동일한 4,4'-di((E)-styryl)-1,1'-biphenyl 기본 골격을 갖는 새로운 형광증백제(fluorescent whitening agent) 후보 물질 6종을 합성하였다. 후보 물질 6종은 MFB 및 그의 유도체와 tetraethyl biphenyl-4,4'-diylbis(methylene) diphosphonate (3)와 Wittig-Horner 반응을 이용하여 합성하였다. 합성된 6종에 대하여 형광증백제로의 가능성을 확인하기 위하여 UV spectrum을 기록하여 몰흡광 계수를 얻었으며, 6종 모두 Uvitex FP 127(log ${\varepsilon}$ 4.85)보다 낮은 몰흡광 계수(log ${\varepsilon}$ 3.95~2.60)를 보임으로서 형광증백제로는 적합하지 못한 것을 확인하였다.

MA/SPS 공정에 의한 β-FeSi2 열전재료의 제조(I) -β-FeSi2상의 형성- (Preparation of β-FeSi2 Thermoelectric Materials by MA/SPS Process -Formation ofβ-FeSi2Phase-)

  • Fabrication of ${\beta}-FeSi_2$ was attempted by making use of the combined process of mechanical alloying (MA) and spark plasma sintering (SPS). MA was performed under the Ar gas atmosphere using mixed powders of pure iron and silicon having the mole fraction of 1:2. SPS process was performed at 800-85$0^{\circ}C$ with the applied pressure of 50MPa and the holding time was ranging from 0 to 30min. The mechanically alloyed powder by cyclic operation of rotor for 15hrs consisted of $\varepsilon$-FeSi and Si phases. When this mechanically alloyed powder was sintered by SPS process above 85$0^{\circ}C$, $\varepsilon$-FeSi and ${\alpha}-Fe_2Si_5$ phase were formed. Bulk product sintered at 82$0^{\circ}C$ for 30min consisted of ${beta}-FeSi_2$ phase with a small fraction of $\varepsilon$-FeSi and the density of sintered specimen was 75.3% theoretical density. It was considered that the MA/SPS combined process was effective for the preparation of ${\beta}-FeSi_2$ without heat treatment process after sintering.

혁신확산이론을 바탕으로 한 정보통신기술의 수용요인에 관한 분석적 실증연구 (An Analytical Study of ICT Adoption based on Diffusion Innovation Theory)

  • This study adopts diffusion of innovation theory and analyses product life cycle on two different information communication technology (ICT) products. One is telematics located on introduction and the other one is MP3 located on maturity. The analytical results were mixed. ordinary least square (OLS) result showed that adoption of MP3 player is affected by white noise error ($\varepsilon$) and telematics is influenced by innovation effect (p coefficient) rather than imitation effect (q coefficient) or white noise error. However, nonlinear least square (NLS) result showed that adoption of MP3 player is affected by imitation effect (q coefficient) rather than innovation effect (p coefficient). In addition, the ratio of imitation effect/innovation effect of MP3 player is larger than that of telematics.

  • 최근 전기방사공정은 다양한 고분자의 마이크로 및 나노 크기 섬유를 만드는 기술로서 널리 사용되어 왔다. 일반적으로 많은 연구자들에 의하면, 다중노즐 전기방사공정은 노즐들 사이의 전기장 간섭효과 때문에 짧은 시간에 높은 생산성을 갖기 어려웠다. 이러한 문제를 극복하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 다양한 보조전극을 이용한 다중노즐 전기방사공정을 개발하였다. 본 연구에서 사용된 물질은 바이오소재로서 많이 사용되고 있는 poly($\varepsilon$-carprolactone)(PCL)을 사용하였다. 다중노즐 시스템의 영향을 확인하기 위하여 전기방사의 안정성, 다중노즐을 사용하였을 때의 생산성 및 제조된 나노섬유의 크기와 안정성을 보조전극을 사용하였을 때와 사용하지 않았을 때를 비교하였다. 결과적으로 보조전극을 사용한 노즐의 안정성이 사용하지 않은 노즐에 비해 전기방사 안정성과 우수한 생산성을 보였다.

촉매 함량 변화에 따라 합성된 나일론의 마찰 특성에 관한 연구 (Study on the Frictional Properties of Nylons Synthesized by Varying Catalyst Content)

  • ${\varepsilon}$-카프로락탐(CL)의 음이온 중합에 있어서 개시제의 양을 고정하고 촉매 양을 변화시키면서 합성한 나일론의 분자량, 기계적 물성 및 마찰 특성에 관하여 연구하였다. 전체적으로 촉매/개시제 비율이 높을수록 중합속도, 반응전 환율 및 분자량은 증가하였으며, 충격강도를 제외한 물성도 향상되었으나, 촉매/개시제 비율 1.0% 이상에서는 큰 변화가 나타나지 않았다. 한편, 나일론의 마찰 특성은 기계적 물성 중에서도 인장강도 및 경도에 의해 직접적으로 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 마찰계수, 응력(p)과 운동속도(v)의 곱인 PV 한계 및 상대마모량의 측정 결과를 종합하면, 촉매/개시제 비율 1.0% 하에서 제조된 나일론이 마찰 기계요소로서는 최적의 성질을 갖는 것으로 밝혀졌다.

세포신호계에 있어서 Protein Kinase C: 사람의 전입선 adenocarcinoma PC-3 세포내의 여섯개의 Protein kinase C 동립효소의 translocation (Protein Kinase C (PKC) in Cellular Signalling System: Translocation of Six Protein Kinase C Isozymes in Human Prostate Adenocarcinoma PC-3 Cell Line)

  • Protein kinase C isozymes in a human prostate adenocarcinoma PC-3 cell line were characterized. Immunoreactive bands and immunocytochemical stains were obsenred in PC-3 cells with antibodies raised against protein kinase C ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$, ${\gamma}$, $\delta$, $\varepsilon$, and ζ types, respectively. Protein kinase C ${\alpha}$ corresponded to a immunoreactive band at a molecular weight of 80,000-dalton, whereas molecular weights of other immunoreactive isozvmes of protein kinase C were detected at 68,000-dalton. Protein kinHse C $\delta$ and ζ antibodies detected additional bands at 55,000-dalton and 80,000-dalton, respectively Immunocvtochemical study confirmed the results of the immunoblotting experiments qualitatively: all six protein kinase C isozymes were detected in the cytoplasm of PC-3 cells. Translocation of protein kinase C in PC-3 cells were also examined with phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA), bryostatin 2, diolein, and 1-oleoyl-2-acetyl glycerol (OAG). Differential reactions of protein kinase C isozvmes to these activators were obsenred. When PC-3 cells were treated with 10mM bryostatin 2, protein kinase C isozyme u was translocated into the nucleus, whereas s type was translocated into the plasma membrane and the nucleus. Protein kinase C ${\alpha}$ and ζ types were translocated into the nucleus following the treatment with 101M diolein, whereas protein kinase C ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$, ${\gamma}$, and $\varepsilon$ types were translocated into the nucleus by the treatment with 10mM OAG. Protein kinase C ${\alpha}$ and $\varepsilon$ types were translocated into the nucleus in the presence of 100nM PMA. Protein kinase C $\delta$ type was translocated to the nuclear membrane by these activators, however, only PMA-induced translocation was inhibited by protein kinase C inhibitor, 1-(5-isoquinolinesulfonyll-2-methvlpiperazine dihvdrochloride (H7) . H7 inhibited translocation of protein kinase C ${\alpha}$ type induced by PMA, ${\beta}$ type by OAG and s type by PMA and OAG, whereas it did not affect translocations induced by bryostatin and diolein, respectively. These results suggest that there exist six isoformes of protein kinase C (${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$, ${\gamma}$, $\delta$, $\varepsilon$ and ζ types) in PC-3 cells and that each of these isozvmes distinctivelv reacts to bryostatin, diolein, OAG and PMA, in part due to an altered molecular size and conceivably discrete binding site(s).

냉장 컨테이너 내부의 공기유동 및 열전달 현상에 대한 CFD 시뮬레이션 (CFD Simulation of Airflow and Heat Transfer in the Cold Container)

  • To prevent deterioration of agricultural products during cold transportation, optimized temperature control is essential. Because the control of temperature and thermal uniformity of transported products are mainly governed by cooling air flow pattern in the transportation equipment, the accurate understanding and removal of appearance of stagnant air zone by poor ventilation is key to design of optimized cooling environment. The objectives of this study were to develop simulation model to predict the airflow and heat transfer phenomena in the cold container and to evaluate the effect of fan blowing velocity on the temperature level and uniformity of products using the CFD approach. Comparison of CFD prediction with PIV measurement showed that RSM turbulent model reveals the more reasonable results than standard $k-{\varepsilon}$ model. The increment of fan blowing velocity improved the temperature uniformity of product and reduced almost linearly the averaged temperature of product.

Purification of Cellulase from Trichoderma viride and properties of Its Component Enzymes

  • Major cellulase components, such as three endoglucanases (endoglucanases I, II, and III) and one exoglucanase (exoglucanase II), were isolated from a commercial cellulase (Meicelase TP 60) derived from the fungus Trichoderma viride by a series of chromatography procedures. These procedures were the gel filtration on Bio-Gel, the anion exchange on DEAE-Bio-Gel A, the cation exchange on SP-Sephadex C50, and the affinity chromatography on Avicel cellulose. The average molecular weights determined by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoretic analysis were 51,000, 59,000, 41,000 and 62,000 Da for endoglucanases I, II and III and exoglucanase II, respectively. The extinction coefficients, ${\varepsilon}^{1%}$ 280 nm, of these enzymes were 11.7, 3.3, 7.2 and 11.3, respectively. Among them, the endoglucanase II showed the very low value of the coefficient compared with the others. On the other hand, it was found that endoglucanase II and III were of more random hydrolytic mode on carboxymethylcellulose as compared with those of endoglucanase I and exoglucanase II. Especially, endoglucanase I showed less random action than that of exoglucanase II. In the hydrolysis of insoluble cellulose by the enzyme components, cellobiose was the major product, but glucose was the major product by endoglucanase III.

  • In this paper, We designed and implemented 20 watt high power amplifier which can be used for the commercial services in band of 1.86 ~ 1.870Hz at PCS. In order to satisfy ACPR, We designed by using the ADS(Advanced Design System)ver1.3. The HPA is fabricated on tepron substrate($\varepsilon_{{\gamma}}$ =3.15, H=0.78mm, T=0.02mm). The implemented HPA measured The ACPR characteristics at $\pm$ 885kHz, $\pm$ 1.25MHz, $\pm$2.25MHz. The HPA meets specification with good ACPR. The HPA is expected to use as a commercial product of PCS base station.roduct of PCS base station.

Cyclohexanol 이용성 세균의 분리 및 특성 (Isolation and Characterization of Cyclohexanol-utilizing Bacteria)

  • A bacterium, which can utilize cyclohexanol as a sole source of carbon and energy, was isolated from sludge in sewage of Ulsan Industrial Complex for Petrochemicals, Korea and identified as Rhodococcus sp. TK6. The growth conditions of the bacteria were investigated in cyclohexanol containing media. The bacteria utilized cyclohexanol, cyclohexanone, cyclohexane-1,2=diol, cyclopentanol, cyclopentanone, and $\varepsilon$-caprolactone but not cyclohexane, cyclohexane-1,2-dione, and cyclooctanone. The bacteria were able to utilize alcohols such as ethanol, 1-propanol, 1-butanol, 1-pentanol, 1-hexanol, 2-methyl-1-propanol, 3-methyl-1-butanol, 2-propanol, and 2-butanol as well as cyclohexanol, organic acids such as adipate, propionate, butyrate, valerate, n-caproate, and 6-hydroxycaproate, and aromatic compounds such as phenol, salicylate, p-hydroxbenzoate, and benzoate as a sole source of carbon and energy. Cyclohexanone as a degradation product of cyclohexanol by Rhodococcus sp. TK6 was determined with gas chromatography.
