  • This paper presents the characteristics of TaN thin-film as high-temperature strain gauges, which were deposited on Si substrate by DC reactive magnetron sputtering in an argon-nitrogen atmosphere(Ar-(4∼20%)N$_2$). The electrical and mechanical characteristics of these films investigated with the thickness range 1650∼1870${\AA}$ and room temperature resistivities in the range 178.3 ${\mu}$$\Omega$cm to 3175.7 ${\mu}$$\Omega$cm. The TaN thin-film strain gauge deposited in Ar-(20%)N$_2$atmosphere is obtained a temperature coefficient of resistance(TCR), 0∼-1357 ppm/$^{\circ}C$ in the temperature range 25∼275$^{\circ}C$ and a high temporal stability with a longitudinal gauge factor, 2.92∼3.47. Because of their high resistivity, low TCR and linear gauge factor, these cermet thin-film may allow high-temperature strain gauges miniaturization.

  • ZnO thin film had been deposited on the glass 7r sputtering method, and investigated by electrical and structural properties. When the rf power was 188W and sputtering pressure was 1$\times$10$^{-3}$ Torr at room temperature, Al-doped ZnO thin film had the lowest resistivity(1$\times$10$^{-4}$ $\Omega$.cm), and then carrier concentration and Hall mobility were 6.27$\times$10$^{20}$ cm$^{-3}$ and 22.04$\textrm{cm}^2$/V.s, respectively. And undoped ZnO thin film had about 10$^{14}$ $\Omega$.cm resistivity when oxygen content was 10% or more at room temperature. The surface morphology of ZnO thin film observed by SEM was overall uniform when oxygen content was 50% below and sputtering pressure was 1.0$\times$10$^{-1}$ Torr.

  • In this paper we explain that normal theory likelihood-ratio tests(z, t, $x^2$. F) for mean(s) or variance(s) can be geometrically related to volume of difference of two joint pdf's. One is an estimated joint pdf under null parameter space $\omega$ and the other is an estimated joint pdf under full parameter space $\Omega$. For explanations, ‘distance between two distributions’ is defined. We study properties of it, and derive some results on the distance between two multivariate normal distributions.

  • We have successfully grown Cl-doped ZnSe epitaxial layers on GaAs(100) sub-strates by HWE using $ZnCl_2$ as a doping source. The Cl-doped ZnSe layers showed mirrorlike morphology and good crystallinity. It has been found that the layer exhibited an n-type conduction with low resistivity. The carrier concentration is, obtained about $10^{16}\textrm {cm}^{-3}$, where a resistivity reached 10 $\Omega \textrm {cm}$. The layer with an appropriate doping level exhibited blue photoluminescence at room temperature. The strong blue PL was obtained at the hall mobility of $100^2\textrm {cm}$/Vㆍsec.

  • In this paper, magnetorheological fluids (MRFs) based on micro-sized iron particles dispersed in silicone oil are presented. The iron particles are modified by adding different ratios of oleic acid and lauric acid as surfactants to the suspensions. Lauric acid was found to reduce the stability of the MRFs, and more lauric acid results in a higher rate of sedimentation. Further study showed that the formation and structure of lauric acid may result in the sedimentation of micrometer-sized particles. Meanwhile, the electro-resistance of MRF in this paper shows a decrease from beyond $6000M{\Omega}$ to $190{\Omega}$ with an increase in the external field from 0 mT to 400 mT.

  • Polyethylene (PE) and maleic anhydride-grafted PE (PE-g-MAH) were pyrolyzed, and their pyrolysis products were analyzed using gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) to investigate the influence of MAH grafted onto PE on pyrolysis behaviors. Major pyrolysis products of PE and PE-g-MAH were n-alkanes, 1-alkenes, ${\alpha},{\omega}$-alkadienes, and aromatic compounds. 1-Alkenes were more formed than n-alkanes, ${\alpha},{\omega}$-alkadienes, and aromatic compounds. Butadiene was more produced from PE than PE-g-MAH, whereas toluene and ethyl benzene were more generated from PE-g-MAH than PE. Difference in the pyrolysis behaviors between PE and PE-g-MAH were explained by initial decomposition of MAH moiety.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the kinetic factors of Stefan holm's take-off motion and provide the technical data. Collected data of the subject(height: 181 cm, weight: 71 kg, record: 230 cm) were used for the last two strides and take-off phase. The results were as follows: The vertical impulse force was 2044.8 N which was 2.49 times and the anterior-posterior impulse force was -1306.4 N which was 1.88 times of the subject's weight. The take-off leg angular velocities($\omega_x,\;\omega_y$) were switched drastically from clockwise to count clockwise direction between two-step touchdown and take-off. The highest jerk of the take-off foot was 368.97 m/s3 during the two step take-off and the take-off foot made an impact to the ground with 1225.07 m/s3 during the one step touchdown.

  • In this paper, our main purpose is to consider the quasilinear elliptic equation $$div(|{\nabla}u|^{p-2}{\nabla}u)=(p-1)f(u)$$ on a bounded smooth domain ${\Omega}\;{\subset}\;R^N$, where p > 1, N > 1 and f is a smooth, increasing function in [0, ${\infty}$). We get some estimates of a solution u satisfying $u(x){\rightarrow}{\infty}$ as $d(x,\;{\partial}{\Omega}){\rightarrow}0$ under different conditions on f.

  • In this paper, we first define a new kind of two-weight-$A_r^{{\lambda}_3}({\lambda}_1,{\lambda}_2,{\Omega})$-weight, and then prove the imbedding inequalities for $\mathcal{A}$-harmonic tensors. These results can be used to study the weighted norms of the homotopy operator T from the Banach space $L^p(D,{\bigwedge}^l)$ to the Sobolev space $W^{1,p}(D,{\bigwedge}^{l-1})$, $l=1,2,{\cdots},n$, and to establish the basic weighted $L^p$-estimates for $\mathcal{A}$-harmonic tensors.
