Non-Stoichiometric Zr-Based 라베스상 수소저장합금의 방전특성 (The electrode characteristics of non-stoichiometric Zr-based Laves phase alloys)

  • The Laves phase alloy hydrides have some promising properties as electrode materials in reversible metal hydride batteries. In this work, the hydrogen storage performance, crystallographic parameters, surface morphology, surface area and electrochemical characteristics of the non-stoichiometric $ZrMn_{0.3}V_{0.7}Ni_{1.4+{\alpha}}$, $ZrMn_{0.5}V_{0.5}Ni_{1.4+{\alpha}}$($\alpha$ =0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6) alloys were examined. These as-cast alloys were found to have mainly a cubic C15-type Laves phase structure by X -ray diffraction analysis. The equilibrium pressure of the alloy were increased as $\alpha$ increased in both two types alloy. In case of $ZrMn_{0.5}V_{0.5}Ni_{1.4+{\alpha}}$ alloys, discharge efficiency and the rate capability of the alloy were decreased as $\alpha$ increased but, these values were increased in case of $ZrMn_{0.3}V_{0.7}Ni_{1.4+{\alpha}}$ alloys. The differences of these electrode properties observed were dependent on the reaction surface area and the catalytic activity of unit area of the each electrode.

α+β 타이타늄 합금의 미세조직 제어에 따른 기계적 특성 (Mechanical Properties Variation of Ti-6Al-4V Alloy by Microstructural Control)

  • The mechanical properties of Ti-6Al-4V can be improved by microstructural control through the heat treatment in ${\alpha}+{\beta}$ region. The heat treatment was carried out with a variety of heat treatment temperatures and holding times to find the optimized heat treatment conditions and it was analyzed by linking the microstructural characteristics and mechanical properties. The part of ${\beta}$ phase with $10{\pm}2wt%$ vanadium was transformed into ${\alpha}^{{\prime}{\prime}}$ martensite phase after quenched, so the hardness and tensile properties were decreased below $900^{\circ}C$. The higher the heat treatment temperature is, the smaller is the vanadium-rich region, which leads to transformation into hcp ${\alpha}^{\prime}$ martensite above $900^{\circ}C$. The hardness and tensile properties were improved due to the hard ${\alpha}^{\prime}$ martensite. As the holding times were longer, the hardness and tensile properties decreased below $900^{\circ}C$ because of the softening effect by the grain growth. When varying the holding times above $900^{\circ}C$, the change of mechanical properties was slight because the softening effect of grain growth and the strengthening effect of ${\alpha}^{\prime}$ phase were counteractive. Therefore, the best conditions of heat treatment, which is in the range of $920{\sim}960^{\circ}C$, 40 min, WQ, can effectively improve the mechanical properties of Ti-6Al-4V.

MoO3/bismuth molybdate 혼합 2상 촉매의 구조에 따른 프로필렌 선택산화반응 특성 (Effect of the Structure of MoO3/bismuth molybdate Binary Phase Catalysts on the Selective Oxidation of Propylene)

  • 프로필렌을 선택산화시켜 아크로레인을 제조하는 반응을 Bi-molybdate 촉매상에서 고정층 반응기를 사용하여 연구하였다. ${\alpha}-Bi_2Mo_3O_{12}$위에 $MoO_3$를 담지시킨 M/BM-series 촉매는 함침법으로 제조되었고, 역으로 BM/M-series 촉매는 $MoO_3$위에 ${\alpha}-Bi_2Mo_3O_{12}$을 침전시켜 제조하였다. 또한 촉매의 특성분석을 위하여 질소흡착과 XRD, SEM을 이용하였다. M/BM-series 촉매에서는 $MoO_3$가 작은 입자로 분산되고 ${\alpha}-Bi_2Mo_3O_{12}$의 결정구조는 $MoO_3$상이 추가되어도 그 형상이 변하지 않는 채로 유지되었으나, BM/M-series 촉매의 표면형상 및 전체 구조는 촉매제조 중에 생기는 침전물인 $Bi(OH)_3$가 소성 도중 $MoO_3$와 반응하여 ${\alpha}-Bi_2Mo_3O_{12}$을 형성하는 관계로 그 조성에 따라 매우 불규칙적으로 변화하였다. 반응실험 결과, 두 종류의 촉매 모두에서 excess $MoO_3$가 포함되었을 때 활성이 크게 증가하였는데, 이는 선별산화반응이 주로 ${\alpha}-Bi_2Mo_3O_{12}$에서 일어나고 $MoO_3$${\alpha}-Bi_2Mo_3O_{12}$에 산소 공급을 원활히 하여 활성을 증가시키기 때문으로 판명되었다. 또한 이러한 활성 증가는 ${\alpha}-Bi_2Mo_3O_{12}$와 기계적 혼합물 (mechanical mixture)에서도 관찰되었다.

Henoch-Sch$\"{o}$nlein 자반증에서 Tumor Necrosis Factor-${\alpha}$ 유전자 다형성 분석 (Analysis of the Tumor Necrosis Factor-${\alpha}$ Promoter Polymorphism in Children with Henoch-Sch$\"{o}$nlein Purpura)

  • 목 적: 본 연구에서는 Henoch-Sch$\"{o}$nlein 자반증으로 진단된 환아들에서 급성기와 관해기에 TNF-${\alpha}$ 농도를 측정함으로써 Henoch-Sch$\"{o}$nlein 자반증의 발병과 임상양상의 발현에 있어 TNF-${\alpha}$의 의의를 평가하고, 각 환자에서 TNF-${\alpha}$ -308, -238 유전자 다형성의 유전자형과 대립유전자 빈도를 분석함으로써 Henoch-Sch$\"{o}$nlein 자반증의 발병에 있어 TNF-${\alpha}$ 유전자 다형성이 갖는 의의를 알아보고자 하였다. 방 법: 2004년 3월에서 2005년 11월까지 서울대병원 및 분당서울대병원 소아과에 내원하여 Henoch-Sch$\"{o}$nlein 자반증으로 진단받은 40명의 소아 환자를 대상으로 하였고, 건강한 소아 환아 32명을 대조군으로 하였다. 후향적인 의무기록지 검토를 통해 환아들의 임상양상을 조사하여 임상 점수를 평가하였다. 환자군에서 급성기와 관해기에 혈청 TNF-${\alpha}$ 농도를 측정하였다. 환자군과 대조군에서 혈액을 채취하여 TNF-${\alpha}$ -308과 -238 유전자 다형성을 조사하였다. 결 과: Henoch-Sch$\"{o}$nlein 자반증으로 진단된 40명 (남아 20명, 여아 20명)의 환아에서 급성기에 측정한 혈청 TNF-${\alpha}$ 농도는 $23.17{\pm}11.31$ pg/mL였으며, 증세가 소실된 후에 측정한 혈청 TNF-${\alpha}$ 농도는 $10.56{\pm}5.59$ pg/mL로서 유의하게 감소하였다(p=0.000). 혈청 TNF-${\alpha}$와 Henoch-Sch$\"{o}$nlein 자반증의 임상 점수 간에 유의한 상관관계는 없었다(r=0.310, p=0.070). TNF-${\alpha}$ -308 유전자형 빈도는 환자군에서 GG 80%, GA 20% 였으며, 대조군에서는 GG 93.8%, GA 6.2%로서 환자군에서 높은 GA 유전자형의 빈도를 보였지만 통계적인 유의성은 없었다(P=0.094). TNF-${\alpha}$ -238 유전자형 분포는 환자군에서 GG 97.5%, GA 2.5%였으며, 대조군에서는 GG 93.8%, GA 6.3%로서 두 군 사이에 통계적인 유의성이 없었다(p=0.429). 결 론: TNF-${\alpha}$는 Henoch-Sch$\"{o}$nlein 자반증의 발병에 중요한 역할을 하는 사이토카인으로 여겨지지만, TNF-${\alpha}$ -308, -238 유전자 다형성이 Henoch-Sch$\"{o}$nlein 자반증의 발병과 다양한 임상양상의 발현에 미치는 영향에 대해서는 뚜렷한 연관성이 확인되지 못하였기에 향후 지속적인 연구를 통하여 Henoch-Sch$\"{o}$nlein 자반증의 발병기전과 유전적 감수성을 밝히려는 시도가 이루어져야 할 것이다.

Molecular Dynamics Study on the Structural Phase Transition of Crystalline Silver Iodide

  • The ${\beta} to {\alpha}$ phase transition in silver iodide is studied with the (N, V, E) and (N, P, T) molecular dynamics (MD) method. In experiments, the phase transition temperature is 420 K. Upon heating of ${\beta}$ form, the iodine ions undergo hcp to bcc transformation and silver ions become mobile. MD simulations for the ${\beta}$ and ${\alpha}$ phases are carried out at several temperatures and the radial distribution functions (rdf) are obtained at those temperatures in the (N, V, E) ensemble. But the phase transition is not found in our calculation. Next the phase transition is studied with the (N, P, T) MD and we find some evidences of phase transition. At 3 Kbars and 2 Kbars the phase transition temperatu re is about 300 K. For 3.55 Kbars, the phase transition is higher (420 K) than the low pressure case. The phase transition temperature is somewhat dependent on the pressure in our calculations.

마이크로에멀전의 화염분무열분해(ESP)에 의한 α-알루미나 나노입자의 제조 (Preparation of α-Al2O3 Nanoparticles by flame Spray Pyrolysis (ESP) of Microemulsion)

  • 화염분무열분해(FSP) 공정을 이용하여 결정질의 좁은 입도분포를 가지는 $\alpha$-알루미나 나노입자를 제조하였다. 초미분의 액적을 형성시키기 위해 전구체 용액으로서 연료인 등유를 연속상으로 하고 산화제인 알루미늄 질산염 수용액을 분산상으로 하는 유중수적(W/O)형의 마이크로에멀전을 제조하였다 0.5M 농도의 알루미늄 질산염 수용액을 10vol%, 등유 80vol%, 그리고 유용성 유화제 10vol%를 혼합하여 안정한 분산상태를 가지는 마이크로에멀전을 제조한 후, 이류체 노즐 분무기를 사용하여 0.03㎫의 공기 압력으로 분무하여 화염에 직접 노출시켰다. 제조된 생성물은 20에서 30 나노미터의 균일한 크기를 가지는 $\alpha$-알루미나 상으로 확인되었다.

Fungal Biotransformation of Monoterpenes Found in Agro-Industrial Residues from Orange and Pulp Industries into Aroma Compounds: Screening Using Solid Phase Microextraction

  • The biotransformation of monoterpenic agro-industrial wastes (turpentine oil and essential orange oil) was studied. More than 40 fungal strains were isolated from Brazilian tropical fruits and eucalyptus trees and screened for biotransformation of the waste substrates. Solid phase microextraction was used to monitor the presence of volatile compounds in the headspaces of sporulated surface cultures. The selected strains were submitted to submerged liquid culture. The biotransformation of R-(+)-limonene and ${\alpha},\;{\beta}-$ pinenes from the oils resulted in ${\alpha}-terpineol$ and perillyl alcohol, and verbenol and verbenone, respectively, as the main products. The selected strains were also placed in contact with ${\alpha}-$ and ${\beta}-$ pinenes standards. It was confirmed that verbenol, verbenone, and ${\alpha}-terpineol$ were biotransformation products from the terpenes. A concentration of 90 mg/L of verbenone was achieved by Penicillium sp. 2360 after 3 days of biotransformation.

Oxidative Degradation Kinetics of Tocopherols during Heating

  • Tocopherols are important lipid-phase antioxidants that are subject to heat degradation. Therefore, kinetic analyses for oxidative degradation of tocopherols as a function of temperatures and times were performed. Alpha-, gamma- and delta-tocopherols dissolved in glycerol were heated at 100${\sim}$250$^{\circ}C$ for 5~60 min. Oxidized tocopherols were analyzed by HPLC using a reversed phase ${\mu}$-Bondapak C$_{18}$-column with two kinds of elution solvent systems in a gradient mode. The degradation kinetics for tocopherols followed a first-order kinetic model. The rate of tocopherol degradation was dependent on heating temperatures. The degradation rate constants for ${\gamma}$- and ${\delta}$-tocopherols were higher than those for ${\alpha}$-tocopherol. The experimental activation energies of ${\alpha}$-, ${\gamma}$- and ${\delta}$- tocopherols were 2.51, 6.05 and 5.34 kcal/mole, respectively. The experimental activation energies for the oxidative degradation of ${\gamma}$- and ${\delta}$-tocopherols were higher than that of ${\alpha}$-tocopherol.

생체재료용 Ti-10Ta-10Nb 합금의 열적 특성 고찰 (Study on the thermal-property of Ti-10Ta-10Nb)

  • Specimens of Ti-10Ta-10Nb have been tested for Rockwall hardness after heating to either the $\alpha$+$\beta$ and $\beta$-phase field. And the specific heat and the dilatometer of Ti-10Ta-103Nb swaged have been measured. From the result, the $\beta$ transus of the alloy was determined to be 82$0^{\circ}C$. The hot deformation behavior of Ti-10Ta-10Nb with an $\alpha$+$\beta$ microstructure is modeled in the temperature 75$0^{\circ}C$ and strain rate range 0.001-10$^{-1}$
