Prediction of the Total Effective Moment (ME) Using Stroke Range in Lightweight Piezoelectric Composite Actuator(LIPCA) (경량압전 복합재료 작동기의 작동범위를 이용한 총유효 모멘트 (ME)의 예측)

  • The fatigue behavior of LIPCA was so sensitive to the manufacturing condition, the environmental factors and the change of the test apparatus. Therefore, we could be considering not only the relationship between the stroke range $({\Delta}h)$ and actuating frequency but also the relationship between the stroke range $({\Delta}h)$ and the total effective moment $(M^E)$. Thus, this study proposed the calculation method of the applying $M^E$ when the $({\Delta}h)$ of LIPCA was increased from 1.mm to 20mm. To estimate the relationship between the total effective moment $(M^E)$ and the Bernoulli-Euler bending moment (M) was reviewed. And the residual stress distribution of LIPCA and THUNDER using the CLT was evaluated. In conclusions, converting the $({\Delta}h)$ of LIPCA to the radius of curvature (p) and calculating the $(M^E)$, it was found that the p by the $M^E$ changed similarly as the $({\Delta}h)$. It was found that the $M^E$ was 2.2 times as the M. While CFRP and PZT of LIPCA, which had the superior compressive characteristic, had the compressive residual stress, GFRP was subject to the tensile residual stress. Since this reversed configuration between the compressive residuals stress and the tensile one was made, the requirement of the stroke range $({\Delta}h)$ increase was satisfied.

  • Solvatochromic effects and hydrogen bonding interactions of 4-hydroxy-4'-nitrostilbene(NSOH) were investigated. Electronic transition energies of NSOH have good correlation with Taft's $\pi$$^*$. The hydrogen bonding interactions can be accounted by analysis with equation of $\Delta$E= $\Delta$E$_0$ + s($\pi$$^*$ + d$\delta$) + a$\alpha$ + b$\beta$. From UV-visible absorption maximum energies, $\Delta$E = 81.2 kcal/mole - 6.66($\pi$$^*$ - 0.20$\delta$) - 0.66$\alpha$ - 1.93$\beta$ (corr.=0.970) was obtained, and from fluorescence intensity maximum energies, $\Delta$E= 70.07 kcal/mole - 21.6($\pi$$^*$ - 0.11d) - 1.74$\alpha$ - 2.73$\beta$ (corr.=0.947) was obtained. The micropolarity estimated at the solubilization sites is close to the polarity of water. The apparent Taft's $\pi$$^*$ values of solubilization sites are close to 1. Howcver, the solubilization sites for the fluorescent NSOH is rather nonpolar. Both NSOH and NSO$^-$ can be solubilized in CTAB and CTAC micelles and NSOH is the only species that can be solubilized in SDS and Brij-35 micelles.

  • The ATP-inhibited Plant Mitochondrial $K^+$ Channel ($PmitoK_{ATP}$) was discovered about fifteen years ago in Durum Wheat Mitochondria (DWM). $PmitoK_{ATP}$ catalyses the electrophoretic $K^+$ uniport through the inner mitochondrial membrane; moreover, the co-operation between $PmitoK_{ATP}$ and $K^+/H^+$ antiporter allows such a great operation of a $K^+$ cycle to collapse mitochondrial membrane potential (${\Delta}{\Psi}$) and ${\Delta}pH$, thus impairing protonmotive force (${\Delta}p$). A possible physiological role of such ${\Delta}{\Psi}$ control is the restriction of harmful reactive oxygen species (ROS) production under environmental/oxidative stress conditions. Interestingly, DWM lacking ${\Delta}p$ were found to be nevertheless fully coupled and able to regularly accomplish ATP synthesis; this unexpected behaviour makes necessary to recast in some way the classical chemiosmotic model. In the whole, $PmitoK_{ATP}$ may oppose to large scale ROS production by lowering ${\Delta}{\Psi}$ under environmental/oxidative stress, but, when stress is moderate, this occurs without impairing ATP synthesis in a crucial moment for cell and mitochondrial bioenergetics.

  • A simple method to calculate the interfacial tension between two immiscible molten polymers has been developed. The theory is based on the significant structure theory of liquids. The energy of adhesion is expressed as a geometric mean of the cohesion energies multiplied by correction factor $({\Phi}12)$, ${\Delta}E_{12}={\Phi}_{12}\sqrt{{\Delta}E_{11}{\Delta}E_{22^{\circ}}$. In the calculation of ${\Delta}E_{11}\;and\;{\Delta}E_{22}$, a quasilattice of polymer chains has been assumed. It is assured that, besides the dispersion force, the polar force interactions between polymer constituent groups should be considered in the calculation of the interfacial tensions.

  • The delta-endotoxin from B. thuringiensis subsp. damstadienszs 73E10-2 was resistant to high concentration of salt (4M NaBr), organic solvents (50% acetone), denaturants (4 M urea), and neutral detergents (10% triton X-100). In contrast, the toxin was inactivated by treating with charged detergents as well as guanidine hydrochloride or carbon tetra-chloride. The delta-endotoxin is not a sulfhydryl activated toxin, but modification of the lysine side chains eliminated toxicity against mosquito larvae.

  • 본 연구에서는 Density functional theory(DFT) 계산을 이용하여, $MoS_2$의 Mo와 S를 다른 원자로 치환 했을 때 $2H-MoS_2$ monolayer의 basal plane에서 HER활성을 향상시켰다. 특히 Ge와 Rh를 치환한 경우, ${\Delta}G_H$가 각각 0.03eV, 0,07eV로 최적에 가까운 HER활성이 나타났다. 다른 원자의 치환이 Fermi level 근처의 DOS(density of states)를 높여, ${\Delta}G_H$을 0에 가깝게 낮출 수 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 치환되는 원자의 농도, 그리고 strain을 변화시켜 농도와 strain의 증가에 따른 ${\Delta}G_H$ 감소를 발견했다. 이로써 각치환되는 원자마다, 치환 농도와 strain을 함께 변화시켜 ${\Delta}G_H$을 낮출 수 있었다. ${\Delta}G_H$가 0에 가까운(${\pm}{\pm}0.2eV$ 이내) 원자종류, 치환 농도, strain의 여러 조합을 찾았다.

EXB 하전입자빔 에너지 필터의 광학 특성 II

  • 직선운동하는 하전입자의 진행방향에 수직한 평면상에 서로 직교하는 전기장과 자기장을 걸어주면, 하전입자에는 전기장에 의한 힘 FE와 자기장과 속도 v에 의한 로렌츠력 $F_B=q(v{\times}B)$가 동시에 작용하게 된다. 이때 Wien 조건 FB=-FE를 만족하는 질량 mA과, 에너지 EA를 가지는 하전입자 A는 휘지 않고 직선운동을 계속하나, 하전입자 A와 다른 에너지 $E_B\;(=E_A+{\delta}E)$나 질량 $m_B\;(=m_A+{\delta}m)$을 가지는 하전입자는 휘게 되며, 그 휘는 정도는 ${\delta}E$${\delta}m$에 비례하게 된다. 이 현상을 이용하여 다양한 종류의 에너지 또는 질량 분석기가 독일, 미국, 일본 등의 분석기기 선진국에서 개발되어 왔고, 전자현미경의 이미지 필터로도 활용되고 있으며, 통상 EXB 필터 또는 발명자의 이름을 딴 Wien 필터로 불리어지고 있다. $E{\times}B$ 필터는 일반적인 하전입자빔 렌즈와 다른 광학특성을 가지며, 지난 발표에서는 $E{\times}B$ 필터의 기본 궤도 방정식 및 다양한 2차 기하 수차 방정식의 유도과정 및 결과를 보여주었다. 본 발표에서는 EXB 필터의 전후에 배치시켜, 초점거리 등의 조정을 수행할 4극자와, $E{\times}B$ 필터에서 발생하는 2차 수차의 보정을 수행할 6극자의 광학특성의 계산 결과를 보여준다. 4극자-6극자-EXB필터-6극자-4극자 조합의 기본 광학궤도 계산 결과는 빔 다이어그램으로 보여준다. 6극자에 의해 수차를 줄여서 향상되는 에너지 분해능 값은 수치적으로 추정한다. 실제 제작이 된 각 부품의 외형 및 사진을 보여주어 에너지 필터의 제작 진행 상황을 보고한다.

Development of Brown Hair-Dye using The Extracts of Boehmeria tricuspis Grown Wild in Korea (한국 자생 거북꼬리 추출물을 이용한 갈색 염모제 개발)

  • To develop the natural brown hair-dye, we investigated the dyeability of hairs dyed with the extracts of Boehmeria tricuspis and chemical hair-dye and the changes in its colors as affected by the number of washing frequencies. When dyed with the extracts of Boehmeria tricuspis, ${\Delta}E$ values was increased over 11 compared with control and dyed an order of descent YR. ${\Delta}E$ values treated the ashing juice of Japanese cleyera with a mordant was mostly increased about 15.52. Hairs was dyed with the extracts of Boehmeria tricuspis and we investigated L, a, b and ${\Delta}E$ values as affected by the number of washing frequencies. When treated the ashing juice of Japanese cleyera with a mordant, L values was mostly decreased, however, a, b and ${\Delta}E$ values was increased significantly. L values of hairs dyed with the extracts of Boehmeria tricuspis and washed over thirty times became low compared with that dyed with chemical hair-dye and changes in a, b and ${\Delta}E$values of that was small.

A Study of Dynamic Viscoelastic Properties on Temperatures of Natural Rubber (천연고무의 온도에 따른 동적 점탄성 연구)

  • The change of elastic modulus(E'), loss modulus(E"), and loss $tangent(tan{\delta})$ were investigated on condition of double strain amplitude (DSA) at temperature of $-40{\sim}80^{\circ}C$ for carbon black filled natural rubber. E', E", and $tan{\delta}$ were increased as it closed to the glass transition temperature due to decrease of rubber network flexibility and carbon black agglomerate interaction. In the micro strain range, energy loss showed maximum value because of the chain slippage in rubber matrix, but the regeneration of carbon black agglomerate and rubber matrix affected decrease of energy loss over the mid-range strain. As a results of regression analysis, $E'\;_{max}$ correlation with ${\Delta}E'$ $(E'\;_{0.4%DSA}-E'\;_{2.0%DSA})$ showed linear relationship.

  • Let $M^n$ be a connected subminifold of a Euclidean space $E^m$, equipped with the induced metric. Denoty by $\Delta$ the Laplacian operator of $M^n$ and by x the position vector. A well-known T. Takahashi's theorem [13] says that $\delta x = \lambda x$ for some constant $\lambda$ if and only if $M^n$ is either minimal subminifold of $E^m$ or minimal submanifold in a hypersphere of $E^m$. In [9], O. Garay studied the hypersurfaces $M^n$ in $E^{n+1}$ satisfying $\delta x = Dx$, where D is a diagonal matrix, and he classified such hypersurfaces. Garay's condition can be seen as a generalization of T.
