Measurement of Tree Height and Diameter Using Terrestrial Laser Scanner in Coniferous Forests (지상 LiDAR를 활용한 침엽수림의 수고 및 흉고직경 측정)

  • This study was to evaluate the utilization of terrestrial light detection and ranging for forest inventory in coniferous forests. Heights and diameter of the stand trees were measured manually using the traditional measurement method and the method using terrestrial LiDAR. The results of two methods were compared and analyzed to evaluate accuracy and feasibility. The terrestrial LiDAR used fixed and handy types to compare the accuracy between different operational methods. Comparative analyses used a paired t-test and Bland-Altman plot analysis. In the case of tree heights, the average of difference between the traditional method and terrestrial LiDAR for each plot was 0.81 m, -0.07 m, and 0.13 m for fixed type; 2.88 m, 1.19 m, and 0.93 m for the handy type. In the case of tree diameter at breast height, the average value of the difference between traditional methods and terrestrial LiDAR for each plot was 0.13 cm, -0.66 cm, and -0.03 cm for fixed type; 2.36 cm, 2.13 cm, and 1.92 cm for the handy type. The values from the method using the fixed type was highly consistent with that using the traditional measurement methods; the average difference was closer to zero. The crown density influences the precision of the height measurement using terrestrial LiDAR in coniferous forests. Therefore, future studies should focus on verifying the accuracy of terrestrial LiDAR in forests and on expanding the utilization of terrestrial LiDARs according to their operational methods.

  • The retention and fatigue properties of ferroelectric LiNbO$_3$ thin films were studied. Metal-ferroelectric-semiconductor(MFS) devices by using rapid thermal annealed LiNbO$_3$/Si structures were successfully fabricated and demonstrated nonvolatile memory operations of the MFS devices. The I$_{D}$-V$_{G}$ characteristics of MFSFET\`s showed a hysteresis loop due to the ferroelectric nature of the LiNbO$_3$ thin film. The ferroelectric capacitors showed practically no polarization degradation up to about 10$^{10}$ switching cycles when subjected to symmetric bipolar voltage pulse (peak-to-peak 6V, 50% duty cycle) in the 500kHz. The retention properties of the LiNbO$_3$ thin films were quite good up to about 10$^{3}$ s . s .

  • 국부적이지만 수 mm단위까지 스캔이 가능한 지상LiDAR 장비를 이용하여 사면을 스캐닝한 후에 사면의 6개 지점에 대하여 강제로 변화를 준 후 다시 스캐닝하여 분석한 결과 0.008m의 평균편차를 나타내었다. 이것을 볼 때 미세변화 탐지를 위한 기법으로 지상 LiDAR자료의 적용이 유효할 것으로 판단된다.

  • To study interface between crystals grown and molten state in the crusible. Pulling and rotating rate of the shaft were varied in LiF crystal growth by Czochralski method. Lower speed of the pulling and rotating rate increased the degree of convexity in solid-liquid interface and higher speed of the pulling and rotating rate decreased it. Optimum condition of LiF crystal growth obtained as pulling rate was 6.5cm/h when it rotated as 46rpm.

  • $LiCoO_2$and $LiCo_{1-x}$$Ni_x$$O_2$ solid solutions were fabricated by the solid state reaction process. The structural cation mixing phenomena were investigated using XRD, SEM, particle size analysis and $^7$Li NMR,The synthesized LiCoO$_2$ and $LiCo_{1-x}Ni_XO_2$ microcrystallines showed the hexagonal layered structures. Mean particle sizes were increased with the increase of the amount of nickel in the solid solutions. The cation mixing effects were increased as increasing the fraction of nickel(x), x = 0.3, 0.5, 0.7. the peak frequency of $^7$Li NMR was shifted to the higher frequency and the line width increased as increasing the amount of nickel in the solid solutions.

  • The performance of Li-B alloy as anode for molten salt electrolysis was firstly investigated. The crystalline phase of the prepared Li-B alloy was identified as $Li_7B_6$. The potential profile of Li-B alloy anode was monitored during the electrodeposition of $Nd^{3+}$ onto an LCC (liquid cadmium cathode) in molten LiCl-KCl salt at $500^{\circ}C$. The potential of Li-B alloy was increased from -2.0 V to -1.4 V vs. Ag/AgCl by increasing the applied current from 10 to $50mA{\cdot}cm^{-2}$. It was found that not only the anodic dissolution of Li to $Li^+$ but also the dissolution of the atomic lithium ($Li^0$) into the LiCl-KCl eutectic salt was observed, following the concomitant reduction of $Nd^{3+}$ by the $Li^0$ in Li-B alloy. It was expected that the direct reduction could be restrained by maintaining the anode potential higher that the deposition potential of neodymium.

Corrosion Behavior of Heat-Resistant Alloys of More 1 and Super 22H in Molten Salt of LiCl and LiCl-$Li_2O$ (용융염 LiCl 및 LiCl-$Li_2O$에서 내열합금 More 1과 Super 22H의 부식거동)

  • The corrosion behavior of heat-resistant alloys, More 1 and Super 22H in molten salts of LiCl and $LiCl-Li_2$O was investigated in the temperature range of $650~850^{\circ}C$. In a molten salt of LiCl, a dense protective oxide scale of $LiCrO_2$ was formed, following growth of oxide scale with parabolic kinetics. But in a mixed molten salt of LiCl, a dense protective oxide scale of $LiCrO_2$ was formed, following growth of oxide scale with parabolic kinetics. But in a mixed molten salt of $LiCl-Li_2$O, a porous non-protective scale of Li\ulcorner(Cr, Ni, Fe)\ulcornerO$_2$was formed, following growth of oxide scale with linear kinetics. The corrosion rate increased slowly with the increase of temperature up to $750^{\circ}C$, but above $750^{\circ}C$ rapid increase in corrosion rate observed. The corrosion behavior of Super 22H alloy was similar to that of More 1 alloy, but Super 22H showed higher corrosion resistance than More 1.
