Effects of Gal geun (Puerariae Radix) EtOH ext. on lipid lowering and antioxidant were investigated in hyperlipidemic rat. Concentration of FFA and triglyceride in plasma showed a tendency to decrease in Gal geun ext. groups. Concentration of plasma total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol decreased in Gal geun ext. groups. However the concentration of HDL-cholesterol showed no significantly different in all treatment groups. Concentration of liver total cholesterol and triglyceride showed a tendence to decrease in Gal geun ext. groups. Concentration of plasma and liver TBARS showed a low values in Gal geun ext. groups. The values of GSH-Px and SOD activity showed no significantly different among all the treatment groups. However the values of SOD and CAT activity showed a high value in the Gal geun ext. groups.

This report describes the echocardiographic features of an indirect Gerbode defect in a young cat. Echocardiography revealed high-velocity, turbulent systolic flow directed from left ventricle to right ventricle through a ventricular septal defect. The flow immediately entered the right atrium through a tricuspid septal leaflet. The indirect-type Gerbode defect was confirmed through necropsy. When a high-velocity turbulent flow in the RA without pulmonary hypertension is observed on echocardiography, Gerbode defect should be considered.

Chromosome 22 is an acrocentric chromosome containing 500-600 genes, representing 1.5%-2% of the total DNA in cells. It was the first human chromosome to be fully sequenced by the Human Genome Project. Several syndromes involving the partial deletion or duplication of chromosome 22 are well descibed, including 22q11.2 deletion syndrome, 22q11.2 duplication syndrome, 22q11.2 distal deletion syndrome, Phelan-McDermid syndrome caused by a 22q13 deletion or pathogenic variant in SHANK3, and cat-eye syndrome caused by a 22 pter-q11 duplication. This review aims to provide concise information on the clinical characteristics of these syndromes. In particular, the similarities in features among these syndromes, genetic basis, and standard detection techniques are described, providing guidance for diagnosis and genetic counselling.

We determined the prevalence of feline hemotropic mycoplasma species including 'Candidatus Mycoplasma haemominutum', Mycoplasma haemofelis, and 'Candidatus Mycoplasma turicensis' in naturally infected feral cats in Jeonju, Korea. Forty six feral cats were evaluated by PCR assay targeting the 16S rRNA gene sequence. Nine cats (19.6%) were positive for 'Candidatus Mycoplasma haemominutum', 2 cats (4.3%) were positive for 'Mycoplasm a haemofelis', and 1 cat (2.2%) was infected with both 'Candidatus Mycoplasma haemominutum' and Mycoplasma haemofelis. 'Candidatus Mycoplasma turicensis' was undetected. Partial 16S rRNA gene sequences of Mycoplasma haemofelis were closely (> 96%) related to those from other countries. The amplification of hemoplasma DNA in these samples confirmed the presence of 'Candidatus M. haemominutum' and M. haemofelis in Korea.

본 논문에서는 CAT를 적용하여 다중 처리를 지원하는 계측 시스템의 인터페이스를 설계하고 구현하였다. 다중 처리는 프로세스 기법으로 트레드 방식을 사용하였고, 스케쥴링으로는 라운드 로빈 방식을 사영하엿다. 구현된 다중처리 시스템은 HP8590A 스펙트럼 분석기와 HP473B 전력계를 시스템 운영 계측기로 이용하였다. 이밖에도 15대까지의 계측기를 첨가하여 시스템을 운용할 수있도록 하였다. 개발된 소프트웨어는 총 9개 모듈로 구성되어 있고 각 모듈들은 상호 공유되도록 구현하였다. 더 많은 예측기를 부가할 경우에는 목적 계측기에 알맞는 소프트웨어 모듈을 합하여 구성할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 계측기를 여러대 접속할 때 발생할 수 있는 문제점에 대한 해결책을 제시하였다.문제점은 정보의 전송도중 버스가 데드록이 되거나 데이터를 손실하는 경우이다. 문제 발생의 원인은 각 계측기가 갖고 있는 정보 전송 프로토콜의 차이점이 있기 대문인데, 이를 알아내고자 프로토콜 분석기를 설계하여 컴퓨터에 접속할 수 잇도록 구현하였다. 실험한 결과 두 대의 서로 다른 계측기가 갖고 있는 공통적인 프로토콜 패턴을 찾을 수 있었다. 이 시스템을 이용할 경우 사용자는 전문지식 없이도 측정 시간과 오차를 줄일 수가 있다.

A spayed female, 1-year-old, Himalayan, weighing 1.89 kg, was referred. The clinical signs included anorexia, depression, vomiting, urinary incontinence and vaginal discharge for 7 days after elective ovariohysterectomy. In laboratory examination, there was moderate azotemia. Abdominal radiographic findings included heterogeneous serosal detail loss and right renomegaly. Abdominal ultrasonography showed hyperechoic ascites, bilateral polycystic kidneys, right hydronephrosis, and right hydroureter. Excretory urography demonstrated an ureterovaginal fistula. Exploratory laparotomy confirmed this diagnosis and explained that the right ureter had been included in a ligature around the cranial vagina.

A one-year-old, 3.25 kg intact male Chinchilla cat presented with acute right hind limb paralysis. Diagnostic imaging studies found cardiomegaly with interstitial lung pattern, abnormal mitral valve leaflets without maximum opening at the end of the ventricular diastole and during atrial systole and severe mitral inflow obstruction. Based on these findings and its young age, the case was diagnosed as congenital mitral valve stenosis. Treatment was directed to stabilize clinical conditions related to heart failure, to prevent further formation of thrombus and to relieve pain associated with thromboembolism. After one month of therapy, hind limb motor function was fully recovered.

This paper introduces BEYTrans (Better Environment for Your TRANSlation), the first experimental environment for free online collaborative computer-aided translation. The requirements and functionalities related to individual translators and communities of translators are distinguished and described. These functionalities have been integrated in a Wiki-based complete environment, equipped with all currently possible asynchronous linguistic resources and translation aids. Functions provided by BEYTrans are also compared with existing CAT systems and ongoing experiments are discussed.

A 16-year-old cat presented with a 2-week history of anorexia and lethargy. Radiography revealed a soft-tissue opacity, heart-shaped mass between the descending colon and urinary bladder. Ultrasonography showed a large uterine body with a heterogeneously hypoechoic, thickened wall and hypoechoic intraluminal fluid. Computed tomography revealed a large, fluid-filled uterine mass with contrast enhancement, without evidence of regional lymph node or pulmonary metastasis. Ovariohysterectomy was performed and leiomyosarcoma was confirmed by histology. No notable abnormalities were observed during the 1-year postoperative follow-up periods. This report describes the diagnostic imaging and treatment of a rare case of feline uterine leiomyosarcoma.

This paper empirically examines relationships among corporate strategy, competitive advantage of information technology(CAIT), and organizational performance. Effects of information technology on the linkage between corporate strategy and performance is investigated and CAIT measures suggested by Sethi and King(1994) as well as Sung(1997) are tested for verification. Research results confirm that information technology provides several traits of strategic advantages such as efficiency, threat, functionality, preemptiveness, and synergy and significantly contributes to corporate performance. CAIT measures developed by Sethi and King show strong reliability and validity, Generally, service industry firms show more strong relationship among CAT strategy, and performance than manufacturing industry firms. The findings reinforce the accepted belief that alignment between corporate strategy and CAT is critical for firms to attain sustainable competitive advantage, subsequently enhances corporate performance and competitive position against rivals, potential entrants, substitutes, suppliers, and buyers.
