Concrete exposed to severely low temperature below $-20^{\circ}C$ should be provided with proper heat supplying curing to protect the concrete from early frost damage at the time of pouring.meanwhile, so far, effective heat curingmethods of the concrete under severely low temperature are not well established in Korea. For this reason, the objective of this paper is to provide effective heat curingmethod of concrete exposed to severely low temperature to protect early frost damage by varying the combination of heat curingmaterial combinations. Temperature history,maturity development and core strength results are investigated. Fourmock-up specimens simulating slab, wall and column were prepared and heat insulation, heat supplying and both were applied. Test results indicate that the combination of quadruple layer bubble sheet(4BS) and embedding of heating cable has desirable performance for a slab, and heat supplying curing inside heat enclosure and heat generationmat also shows desirable performance for a wall, and for a column, use of EPS heat insulation has proper performance against early frost damage, which reaches $45^{\circ}D{\cdot}D$ and helps the concretemaintain above $0^{\circ}C$ within 3 days. Themethodsmentioned above are believed to be optimum protection from early frost damage of the concrete under $-20^{\circ}C$.
The purposes of this study were to examine the characteristics of elements composing the cultural identity of Chinese architectural and spatial design, and to analyze the expression characteristics and influencing factors of contemporary restaurant design. With these purposes, first, this study reviewed related literature in order to find the characteristics of tangible elements observed in intangible elements and space expression characteristics forming the cultural identity of China. Second, this study conducted a case study in order to understand the expression characteristics of the design of Chinese restaurants in Shanghai and to find factors influencing the design. In order to sample the subjects of the case study, the researcher selected 18 restaurants that were recommended repeatedly in books on Chinese restaurants and tourism and major Internet sites or highly evaluated by visitors, and then choose 15 of them that were found to be fit for the purpose of the survey. According to the result of the survey, the restaurants were largely grouped by type into 10 cases of fine dining, 3 of middle-class casual dining, 1 of fast food, and 1 of luxury tea house serving traditional tea and snacks. Of these restaurants, 46.7% (7 cases) were of CM-CM-CM type, namely, using contemporary simple elements in all of external spaces, indoor spaces, and decorations, 20% (3 cases) were of CM-CM-CT type, using contemporary and simple external and indoor spaces, and traditional furniture or articles, 20% (3 cases) were of CT-CM-CT type, using traditional external spaces such as traditional buildings, contemporary simple finishing of indoor spaces, and traditional articles such as palace lanterns and traditional doors and windows, and 13.3% (2 cases) were of CT-CT-CT type, using traditional elements in their original forms in general. Through this research and survey, cultural identity showing Chinese traditions observed in the expression characteristics of restaurant spatial designs was confirmed, and it was also found that the identity was underlain by ideologies, values, lifestyles, etc. that had long accumulated through the long history of the country and exerted a great influence.

According to the Samkuk Saki(History of Three Nations), An-ap pond was constructed in the 14th year of the reign of King Mun-$\mu$ But this period precedes the unification of Shilla(in the 16th year the reign of king Mun-mu) and Shilla was at war. Therefore I suppose the 16th year of the King's reign is just the time of the commencement of the construction of the pond. But the real construction had not been started before the 16th year of the King's reign, after the unification of the three nations into Shilla Dynasty. Another record of making a larger pond(the 19th year of the reign of king Kyung-duk) may signify the enlargement of the very pond that had been built the 16th year of King Mun-mu's reign. Korean traditional belief was the belief in the Dragon, the Mountain God, and the Heavenly God and these was deeply rooted in the Royal family and perhaps had influenced the building of An-ap pond. Namely it is explained that Em-hae Jun sympolizes the An-ap pond itself as the sea and the Dragon lived in the sea and also the mountain built in the East bank of An-ap pond is related to the Mountain God. And also Taoism's Sin Sun Sa-Sang(Paradise philosophy) had influenced the building of the three legendary immortal islands, called Yong Ju, Bang-Jang, Bong-Rae in the An-ap pond. It is supposed that the age of An-ap pond from the above mentioned facts and inferences and we can also understand the influence of the Royal family customs on the building of An-ap pond. The inscriptions on the vessels and architectural accessories suggest us the influence of the Royal family customs on the construction of An-ap pond.
Recently, the recognition is changing about cultural heritage, and the various types of buildings or facilities of modern or contemporary times have been designated as cultural properties after that Registered Cultural Properties System is enforced. The purpose of this study is to survey how the newly born the historic buildings of modern or contemporary times through the remodeling process of the Studio 'Byeol'(the Training Center for Performers of Korean Traditional Music) in the National Theater of Korea so-called a microcosm of performing arts history. In the process, it will examine the merits and demerits of various alternatives and the direction of the remodeling etc., and propose an utilization as a basic data of post evaluation for the remodeling of a historic building. The result are as followings. Firstly, the remodeling that gave a new physical properties to a building can be used a method of conservation and reuse on a historic building. The remodeling of a historic building must be eclectically progress between the owner and the citizen or the economic value and the historicity conservation. And, the remodeling of historic buildings such as the Training Center for Performers of Korean Traditional Music must consider the conservation of the exterior walls in whole or in part at least. Secondly, an architect Lee Hee Tae(李喜泰) who had been to develop his own architectural vocabulary and to test based on the korean traditional architecture and the Training Center for Performers of Korean Traditional Music must be newly evaluated today. Lastly, the remodeling alternatives of the Training Center for Performers of Korean Traditional Music have been analyzed with three types, which is 'repairing only the interior which maintains the size and an appearance of present', 'extending the outer wall to the external column line', 'extending the basement'. And, it was analyzed with the appropriate final decision that it remodels only the interior in the current situation because of a historicity, a budget, a relevant law etc.

The results of examining the architectural features and changes of the main building of Dogapsa temple which is multi roofs wooden structure are as follows. The passage comparing 'Dogapsa' of <>, account of Lee Ha Gon's trip as the literature showing the appearance of Dogapsa temple in the early 18th century to Borimsa through verse of 'Dutacho' was noticeable. Dogapsa temple at Yeongam was distant over 100 ri from Borimsa temple at Jangheung and it was considered that there were many temples at Mt. Wolchul, Yeongam and there were also many temples to be comparable with it. But, Dogapsa temple was compared to Borimsa temple because verses 'many-storied building is high and immense' of 'Dogapsa' at <> and 'Dogapsa is lower than Borimsa at Jangheung' at 'Dutacho' of <> were interpreted as the existence of multi roofs Buddhist temple which had something in common with Dogapsa and Borimsa and was comparable to them. According to existing materials, it was assumed that the main building of Dogapsa was burnt through the Japanese invasion of Korea in the 52nd year of the sexagenary cycle (Eulmyooebyeon, 1555) and Jungyujaeran (1597), but record of major history of the main buildings of Dogapsa and Borimsa indicated that multi roofs wooden structure of the two temples were built at the same period. Since multi roofs wooden structure of main building of Borimsa was rebuilt in 1692, these buildings existed from the early 18th century to middle 18th century.

This study aims to investigate and analyze the utilization perception of members of head families based on a survey on the history, folklore, architectural resources of head families. In order to identify the direction of utilization of Jeonnam head family resources, tangible and intangible resources, and spaces and places to contain programs were researched. The results of the study were summarized as follows. 1) Head family houses in Jeonnam could be categorized into head families that preserved the original form of head family houses, head families that preserved a part of head family houses, head families that newly built head family houses while the original forms thereof have disappeared, and relocated head families of which eldest grandsons no longer reside, where only the sites of the head family houses remain or relocated to a different place. 2) In the case of perception of members of head families on the utilization of head family resources, 27 head families consented to the utilization, 35 head families opposed to the utilization, and 6 head families were undecided on the utilization out of a total of 68 head families. 3) The results of investigating and analyzing the desired type of programs of each head family by categorizing the programs into lodging, food, meditation, education, and tourism, as many as four programs were desired, while some families desired 2 or 3 programs at the lowest, showing an overlapping characteristic.

Past earthquakes have signaled the increased collapse vulnerability of mainshock-damaged bridge piers and urgent need of repair interventions prior to subsequent cascading hazard events, such as aftershocks, triggered by the mainshock (MS). The overarching goal of this study is to quantify the collapse vulnerability of mainshock-damaged substandard RC bridge piers rehabilitated with different repair jackets (FRP, conventional thick steel and hybrid jacket) under aftershock (AS) attacks of various intensities. The efficacy of repair jackets on post-MS resilience of repaired bridges is quantified for a prototype two-span single-column bridge bent with lap-splice deficiency at column-footing interface. Extensive number of incremental dynamic time history analyses on numerical finite element bridge models with deteriorating properties under back-to-back MS-AS sequences were utilized to evaluate the efficacy of different repair jackets on the post-repair behavior of RC bridges subjected to AS attacks. Results indicate the dramatic impact of repair jacket application on post-MS resilience of damaged bridge piers-up to 45.5 % increase of structural collapse capacity-subjected to aftershocks of multiple intensities. Besides, the efficacy of repair jackets is found to be proportionate to the intensity of AS attacks. Moreover, the steel jacket exhibited to be the most vulnerable repair intervention compared to CFRP, irrespective of the seismic sequence (severe MS-severe or moderate AS) or earthquake type (near-fault or far-fault).
The continuous struggle to establish virtual reality on the stage during the history of Western Theater has been centered upon the development of scenographic setting and devices. It began with the Classical Greek drama where the place of performance became separated from the place of the audience. These two places were united as the orchestra - the place of the Dionysiac festival in the earliest stage of the Greek theater. And the skene, once a storage building outside the theatrical area, became an essential factor of the scenic space to provide illusion of the other world where the actors dwell. As a natural consequence it followed the structural change of Roman theater where the stage became a high and wide platform and the skene converted into the permanent stone scaenae frons. Such a tradition of the Classical theater was revived in Italian Renaissance and Baroque theater, which succeeded Vitruvius' concept of scaenographia as well as the vestiges of Imperial Roman theater. The cases of Serlio, Palladio, and Andrea Pozzo reveal the way how Western theater conjured the fictional space by traditional representational scenery, including architectural background setting and painted devices. It resulted in the physical and emotional division of actors' space and audience's space. The rejection of representational scenery upon the stage by avant garde artists like Edward Gordon Craig in the early years of the twentieth century should be interpreted as an attempt to recover an emotional attachment of actors and the audience, which was the case of Greek antiquity. This new scenogrpahic endeavor in modern theater is to challenge the main purpose of traditional scaenae frons to establish the boundary of the illusional 'scene' of performance where the audience should remain as passive spectators, and instead, to try to unite the action of actors and the audience upon the stage as a 'place'.

Existing research for store has been localized in that of Seoul area, and research for the Japanese style store built under the rule of Japanese Imperialism has not been done properly owing to national sentiment. This research established Naju that inland pillage is available along Yeongsan River after opening of Mokpo harbor. I will compare modernization developmental process of building of Korean style store with that of Japanese Style store, so obviously try to make clear the activities of modernization by linking social and economical change with Joseon merchants' life. I will try to light up the position of korean style store in Naju area in history of architecture by analyzing two styles of stores into urban architectural element, putting process of change in order and translating it according to flow of age. The development process of Korean restaurant stores and that of Japanese counterparts are rather relative. Whereas Japanese accumulated wealth through oppression and exploitation of the people of Joseon the former dynasty of present day Korea, the people of Joseon could not but be oppressed and depressed. On the other hand, while the dynamic liberation movements of Joseon merchants managed to develop based on the vitality that was growing ever more, Japanese chose to back down to some degree by exercising appeasing policy. The efforts to take initiative by shattering off the submissive attitude can be found from the ability fostering movement, Gwangju students campaign and new construction or remodeling of hanok the traditional Korean house as commercial building in the 1920s. The changing phase of the people breaking away from subjugated relation to subjective attitude can be found in the commercial districts.

By this time the main tendency of studying traditional residential building was to find out and analyze the regional and spacial peculiarity. But that kind of study has been set limits in terms of including each building into one category and being researched by the viewpoint of an observers rather than a resident. Due to this kind of problem, the outcome of that study didn't obtain good results. This study, which has synthetically not been investigated until now, have put a little more deep interpretation on traditional residential building, by surveying Andong Kwon family's Yuhoedang-Chongga located 299 Musudong Daejon. The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristic of construction in the architecture of Yuhoedang-Chongga of the Andong Kwon family, and to develop the viewpoint and analytic process of traditional construction. As the first step to study it efficiently, basic architectural investigation on Yuhoedang-Chongga has been carried out with an actual evidence, and the new viewpoint of traditional residential building has been developed by this survey such as collecting, arranging, analyzing and examining this positive proof. For example, from the house-picture book handed down from that family, the condition of then established was compared with the present state of it. And then this article examines the arrangement, floor-plan types, interior, structures and condition of location. The transition-history of this house was searched into, and the development process of this was examined. The related documents was synthetically analyzed, so the characteristics of this construction was grasped.
