Aim & Scope

International Journal of Highway Engineering is the official journal of Korean Society of Road Engineers and it has been published since 1999. The abbreviated title of this journal is "Int. J. Highw. Eng. ". This journal provides research papers on every aspects of the highway and road engineering areas including pavement, design, traffic planning, safety, ITS, transportation policy, public transportation, and geotechnical/soil engineering issues. We treat papers from international authors as equal as ones from koreans. We prefer English written papers to widely spread out our expertise and to improve our journal to be higher level. Readers of the journal include government officials, researchers, students, consultants, and engineers. This journal is focused on academical research aspects as well as engineering and technical applications. Therefore, any of experimental, theoretical, descriptive, or historical approach is all accepted if each of those could give us more innovative ideas and values for highway and road engineering areas. This journal is published bi-monthly at February, April, June, August, October, and December of each year. All published manuscripts are peer-reviewed by at least three independent reviewers. The body text of paper can be written either Korean or English, but the abstract, tables, figures, conclusions, and references must be written in English. The articles of the journal may be indexed in DOI, google scholar and KCI. The number of circulation for each edition is about 1,400.
