Objectives : Many studies are being done in the method of experimental chuna science in China. The aim of this review is to understand and study the methods of experimental chuna science, focusing on the effects of chuna on circulatory system. Methods : We reviewed "實驗推拿學" and Chinese journals were searched using China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI). Korean journals were searched using 3 Korean web databases(OASIS, NDSL, RISS). Results : By experimental chuna science, effect of chuna on blood pressure, cardiovascular system, hemorheologic system, blood flow velocity, circulation and lymphatic system were proved. Conclusions : Experimental chuna science is necessary for improvement of chuna to a higher level. In Korea, not many experimental studies are being done, especially in chuna and it has very narrow target diseases. For this reason we need to learn and adapt the methods of experimental chuna science of China.

Objectives : The Purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical application of conservative treatment including quadratus lumborum MST for lumbar HIVD(Herniated Intervertebral Disc) with sacralization. Methods : We used acupunture, herbal acupuncture, herbal medicine, Quadratus Lumborum MST for this patient. This patient received hospital treatment for 25 days. Results : After conservative treatment, the patient's pain was controlled and NRS score was decreased. ODI and ROM also were improved. Conclusions : Oriental conservative treatment including quadratus lumborum MST has a positive effect to control pain of lumbar HIVD(Herniated Intervertebral Disc) with sacralization.

Objectives : This study was to report the improvement of the patient with multiple sclerosis treated by Korean Medical treatment. Methods : The patient diagnosed as multiple sclerosis treated by acupuncture, bee venom pharmacupuncture, chuna manual therapy, and herbal medicine. To evaluate the effects of korean medicine, we used manual muscle test(MMT), the standard for assessment of the effect of stroke treatment, functional system(FS), visual analog scale(VAS). Results : 1. The patient's pain and optic dysfunction were reduced by the above therapy. 2. There was no change in manual muscle test(MMT), but there was mild improvement in finger joints function in the standard for assessment of the effect of stroke treatment. 3. In functional system(FS) scale, there was enhancement in optic function within a range. And there was improvement in expanded disability statue scale(EDSS) from 4.0 to 3.0. 4. In visual analog scale(VAS), there was considerable improvement from 9 to 6. Conclusions : The korean medical treatment was reduced pain and optic dysfunction.

Objectives : The aim of this study was to evaluate clinical effects of Needle embeeding therapy on Chronic low back pain. Methods : The patients have been treated only with Needle embeeding therapy for once a week for 4 weeks. To estimate the efficacy of Needle embeeding therapy and functional changes of patients we have checked VNRS and ODI every week. Results : The Needle embedding therapy reduced VNRS and ODI score. Conclusion : The result suggests Needle embeeding therapy can be effective treatment on patients with Chronic low back pain.

Objectives : The purpose of this review is to investigate the trends of Traditional Korean Medicine treatments on degenerative knee arthritis. Methods : We investigated the studies on traditional Traditional Korean Medicine (TKM) treatments for degenerative knee arthritis via searching 5 Korean web databases. Results : 31 research papers were found to be analyzed according to their published year, the titles of journals, published institution, the types of study, the number of cases, the types of treatments. 31 papers were published since 1992. The studies on TKM treatments about degenerative knee arthritis were mainly published in The journal of korean acupuncture & moxibustion medicine. 13 Randomized Controlled Trials, 10 Case series, 4 Reviews, 3 Non RCTs, and 1 Case Report had been under research. In 22 cases of the studies, one method was used to treat the symptoms. Whereas in 5 cases of the studies, various TKM treatments were used to treat the symptoms. Visual analogue score(VAS) and patient's subjective complaints were used as primary assessments. Conclusion : In this study, we analyzed the trends of TKM treatments on degenerative knee arthritis. Reviewing the domestic trends of studies on Traditional Korean Medicine treatments on degenerative knee arthritis and examining the strong and weak points of those treatments are essential for the further studies.

Objectives : The Purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical application of Bee venom pharmacopuncture and conservative treatment for lumbar HIVD(Herniated Intervertebral Disc) and Femoroacetabular Impingement. Methods : Patient is hospitalized at Dept. of Oriental Internal Medicine, Jaseng Oriental Medicine Hospital, diagnosed as lumbar HIVD(Herniated Intervertebral Disc) and Femoroacetabular Impingement and treated by Bee venom pharmacopuncture, herbal medicine, acupuncture and moxibustion. This study was measured by NRS(Numerical Rating Scale), ODI and EQ-5D. Results : After Bee venom pharmacopuncture and conservative oriental medical treatment, the patient's pain was controlled and NRS score was decreased. ODI and EQ-5D also were improved. Conclusions : As seen in this one case, Oriental conservative treatment and Bee venom pharmacopuncture have a positive effect to control pain with lumbar HIVD(Herniated Intervertebral Disc) and Femoroacetabular Impingement.

Objectives : This study aims to evaluate domestic/foreign clinical studies related to the traction therapy and analyse points to consider about cervical/lumbar traction therapy. Methods : Seven databases were searched for related articles about cervical/lumbar traction therapy from 1950 to 2014. Fourteen clinical studies and several systemic reviews were included among 144 studies searched. Out of fourteen clinical studies, four were case series and ten were controlled trials. Results : Most of included studies reported favorable effects of traction group compared to baseline of controlled group. The various mechanical factors most relevant to traction are 1) angle of pull and direction, 2) traction force, 3) duration of traction and frequency of treatment. Conclusions : We found various mistake in the applications of statistical methodologies of traction therapy targeting patients of cervical, lumbar vertebral disease. It is necessary for more randomized controlled trials to evaluate effect of cervical/lumbar traction therapy targeting patients of cervical, lumbar vertebral disease.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the safety, injury mechanism, complication and adverse reactions associated with Chuna manual theraphy(CMT), to report one case of adverse reaction with CMT. Methods: A 39-year-old woman presented with low back pain and left leg pain. The patient undertook a lumbar Chuna manual theraphy. After this maneuver, the patient complained of dorsalgia. The patient's dorsalgia didn't improve. In CT study, T5-6 hard disc bulging was diagnosed. Results and Conclusions : It is supposed that this patient suffered dorsalgia secondarily due to a lumbar Chuna manual theraphy. From this case, we can understand the etiology of dorsalgia to some extent and consider the complication of Chuna manual theraphy. In the future, more study, research and prospective trial for complications of a lumbar Chuna manual theraphy is required.

Objectives : The Purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical application of conservative Korean treatment including hip joint MST for Bilateral Sacroillitis with Synovitis in Rt. Hip Joint Caused by Ankylosing Spondylitis. Methods : Patient is hospitalized at Dept. of Korean Internal Medicine, Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital, diagnosed as Bilateral Sacroilitis with Synovitis in Rt. Hip Joint Caused by Ankylosing Spondylitis, and treated by herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion, and hip joint MST. This study was measured by NRS(Numeric Rating Scale), SLRT(Straight leg raising test), Patrick test, and Blood test(ESR, CRP). Result : After conservative treatment, the patient's pain was controlled and NRS score was decreased. SLRT score also improved. Patrick test unchanged. ESR, CRP score was decreased. Conclusion : As seen in this one case, conservative Korean treatment including hip joint MST has a positive effect to control pain with Bilateral Sacroillitis with Synovitis in Rt. Hip Joint Caused by Ankylosing Spondylitis.
