Abstract

Objective: The aim of this case report was to present the effect of Korean medicine in the treatment of a patient with postmenopausal syndrome with dyspepsia, post neck pain and shoulder pain. Methods: A 51-year-old female patient was treated with Cheongpa-Jeon H, Gamisoyo-san, Gamiguibi-tang, Jstrogen, acupuncture, and pharmacopuncture over 39 days of hospitalization. Dyspepsia, post neck pain, and shoulder pain were assessed using the numeric rating scale (NRS), EuroQoL 5 dimensions (EQ-5D), neck disability index (NDI), shoulder pain and disability index (SPADI), and Nepean dyspepsia index-Korean version (NDI-K). Results: After 39 days of treatment, the NRS, NDI, SPADI, and NDI-K scores decreased, while the EQ-5D scores increased. Conclusion: These results show that postmenopausal syndrome with dyspepsia and arthralgia can be relieved with Korean medicine treatment.
