Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the housing awareness and needs for rental housing of residents in their 20-30s in order to propose a new direction of the rental housing. The residents were categorized into 20s student, 20s office worker, 30s office worker. A total of 298 data were used for final analysis. The findings of this study are as follows: 1)the housing awareness was composed of six factors; 'representation of personality', 'neighborhood environment-oriented', 'safety and privacy-oriented', 'social and economic value', 'service-oriented', and 'health-oriented.' According to the group, there was a big difference in 'representation of personality'. 2)The result of investigating the preferences and needs for rental housing plan shows that, in the case of bathrooms, the residents wanted the bathroom facilities to be separated by use, but the demand for high-grade facilities such as spa baths and massagers was low. In regards to the kitchen, there was a high demand for comfortable cooking space, and the preference for common kitchen was very low. For the balcony, the opinion that balconies are necessary is highly presented, and the opinion that they want to eliminate balconies for storage space is very low. As for finishing materials and furniture, there was a high demand for basic furniture, and some furniture, wallpaper and flooring were desired to be replaced with a favorite product.
