Hybrid ARQ With Symbol Mapping Diversity and Turbo Demodulation based on LDPC Codes

심볼 맵핑 다이버시티와 터보 복조를 사용하는 LDPC 부호 기반의 Hybrid ARQ 기법

Abstract

In this paper we propose a high-performance Hybrid ARQ scheme employing Chase combining based on LDPC (Low-Density Parity-Check) codes. The proposed scheme uses symbol mapping diversity and turbo demodulation to improve decoding performance. We analyze the performance of the proposed scheme by EXIT (EXtrinsic Information Transfer) chart and compare its performance with several symbol mappings.

본 논문에서는 LDPC 부호에 기반하여 동일한 패킷을 재 전송함으로써 우수한 복호 성능을 얻을 수 있는 Hybrid ARQ 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 기법은 전송 시 마다 서로 다른 심볼 맵핑(mapping)을 사용하는 심볼 맵핑 다이버시티 기법과 수신단에서 복조기(demodulator)와 복호기(decoder) 간에 부가 정보(extrinsic information)를 주고 받는 터보 복조(turbo demodulation) 방식의 결합을 통해 복호 성공 확률을 높인다. EXIT (EXtrinsic Information Transfer) 도표를 사용하여 복호 성능을 분석하고 기존의 다양한 심볼 맵핑을 적용한 경우의 성능을 비교 분석한다.
