Abstract
The explosion in the number of electronic resources has necessitated that academic libraries rethink the way they manage the life cycle of their electronic resources within the structure and processes of their library. With this momentum, led by the Digital Library Federation's Electronic Resources Management Initiative, specifications and tools for electronic resources has been devised. This study surveys the terrain of electronic resource management as viewed through the current development of ERM Systems and their adaptations into major academic libraries in the United States. For this, we tried to report how such tools are implemented with various additional modules. The potential of the module to integrate the management of its electronic resources into the new process has been suggested, as well.
이 연구에서는 대학도서관의 전자정보원 통합관리와 서비스를 위한 도구들의 개발 동향과 현재 사용되고 있는 전자자원 통합관리 시스템 사례를 통해, 대학도서관에서 제공되는 전자자원 서비스의 유형과 전자자원 관리의 요건들을 조사하였다. 우선 전자자원의 관리적 측면을 살펴보기 위하여 전자자원의 라이프사이클을 이해하고, 이를 관리하기 위한 전자자원관리시스템(ERMS)의 기능적 요소들을 살펴보았다. 이를 위해서 전자자원관리시스템의 표준을 제시하고 있는 DLF의 ERMI의 기능적 특징들을 일별하고, 전자자원의 라이프사이클 단계에 맞추어 그 기능들을 정리하였다. 다음으로 대학도서관에서 제공되는 전자자원서비스 유형을 파악하기 위하여 현재 가장 광범하게 적용되고 있는 전자자원관리시스템 2종을 사례로 선정하고 이를 사용하고 있는 대학도서관 포털의 전자자원서비스 영역을 조사하여, 제공되는 서비스유형들을 파악하였다.
