A Study on Creation of MARC Record for FRBR Implementation

Abstract

This paper explores the elements of FRBR entities to create entities records from MARC records automatically. Attributes of entities analyzed and embodied in MARC records. FRBR records are cited as examples separately. And problems of applying FRBR model are suggested. The result of this paper is expected to keep up with the shift of cataloging's environment and influence system design.

이 연구는 MARC 레코드로부터 자동으로 FRBR 개체를 생성하기 위해 각 개체마다 필요한 요소가 무엇인지에 대해 살펴보는데 목적이 있다. FRBR에 대한 전반적 이해와 FRBR 개체의 속성을 분석하여 MARC 데이터의 적합한 필드를 확인하는 것에 대해 논의하였다. 편목시스템에 FRBR을 적용한 시스템 사례를 중심으로 각 개체 레코드의 내용을 살펴보았으며 개체들의 서지적 관계 분석하였다. 국내 현실에서 편목업무에 FRBR 적용을 위해 어떤 과제가 있고 어떻게 해결할 것인지에 대해 고찰하였다. 이 연구는 향후 편목업무 환경 변화에 대응하고 FRBR 개념을 적용한 편목시스템 설계와 목록규칙 개발에 참조할 수 있을 것이다.
