Handoff Scheme to support Multicast in IPv6

IPv6에서 멀티캐스트 지원을 위한 핸드오프 기법

Whenever mobile node moves a new domain in multicast environments. Both handoff and join multicast group always occur. These procedures take a much of delay time and lost the packets in flight. Handoff delay is a significant factor fot the QoS of mobile node in mobile environments. In this paper. we propose a new handoff scheme which supports multicast and guarantees a low handoff delay in IPv6. The scheme makes adjacent subnets the member of multicast tree. After that, this eliminates packet loss and reduces the handoff delay time. Simulation shows that the proposed scheme takes a low delay and lower packet loss rate than the remote-subscription scheme.

이동 멀티캐스트 환경에서 핸드오프는 이동 단말이 새로운 영역으로 이동할 때 마다 핸드오프와 멀티캐스트 그룹가입을 수행하는 방식으로 일정한 지연시간을 갖게 되며 이동환경에서 핸드오프 지연시간은 패킷 손실을 발생시켜 이동 단말의 수신 품질에 영향을 미치는 주된 요인이 된다. 본 논문에서는 IPv6 환경에서 낮은 핸드오프지연 시간을 갖는 핸드오프 기법을 제안한다. 제안한 핸드오프 기법은 기존의 멀티캐스트의 동작절차를 따르며 인접한 서브넷을 멀티캐스트 트리로 구성하여 단말이 이동할 때 발생하는 멀티캐스트 지연시간을 감소시켜 패킷손실을 제거하였다. 모의실험을 통해 제안한 기법이 낮은 지연시간을 갖는 것을 확인하였으며 원격가입 방식보다 작은 패킷 손실률을 보였다.
