Abstract

Antimicrobial activity of Ginkgo biloba extract was investigated. Antimicrobial treatment of cotton fabric was rallied out using a pad-dry-cure process and a dyeing process. The antimicrobial activity of the treated fabric was excellent and durable even after forty laundering cycles. The treated fabric had good antimicrobial activities for ten different kinds of bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538, Methiciline resistance S. aureus, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Escherichia coli ATCC 43895, Salmonela typhimurium, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus subtilis, Enterobacter doaceae, and Candida albicans.
