Abstract

Multi-layered nonwoven was manufactured by needle punching webs of elastic cation dyeable polyester(CDP)/polyetherester(PEE) and non-elastic CDP/poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) islands-in-a-sea fibers mixtures of different ratios after inserting scrim between the webs. The optimal manufacturing procedure of multi-layered nonwoven by inserting scrim between webs was suggested. By measuring the mechanical properties such as a tensil strength, elongation and tearing strength, it was found that the optimum composition of nonwoven for artificial suede material was CDP/PEE:CDP/PET=50:50.
