  • Current companies 집중 on how to operate and select projects to achieve the best result. 6sigma projects are chosen in the best suitable concept, which are solved by the 6Sigma experts according to the priority. And every project has to be launched not the view of individual management factors but the total factors, Big Y. Therefore, a process needs to be treated to connect the vital few factors in various processes to improve the yield, which is the main performance criteria in a manufacturing industry This report is to make the total optimization through the Vital-Few mapping between quality characteristics and process factors in a manufacturing line. Accordingly, it means to secure lower variance by making the CTP(Critical To Process) optimization and finally to improve the yield.

  • The estimation of yield for semiconductor devices requires not only establishment of critical area but also a new parameter of process defect density that contains inspection mean defect density related cleanness of manufacure process line, minimum feature size and the total number of mask process. We estimate the repaired yield of memory devide, leads the semiconductor technique, repaired by redundancy scheme in relation with defect density distribution function, and we confirm the repaired yield for different devices as this model. This shows the possibility of the yield estimation as statistical analysis for the condition of device related cleanness of manufacture process line, design and manufacture process.

  • In order to analyze the deformation and residual curvature of steel sheets in the strip processing lines, a program for calculating curvature and work hardening of sheet was developed. Strip deformation caused by repeated bending under tension in the process lines was analyzed on the basis of the incremental-plasticity theory with the mixed hardenting model for the purpose of predicting the strip shape and the yield stress change. The developed calculation program was applied to predict curl and gutter of sheets within a 10% difference. The yield stress increment was also predicted with the similar accuracy. Application of the model to tension legvelling process showed that gutter could be controlled by intermesh and elongation. The yield stress increment in the electro-galvanizing line calculated by the developed program was found to be dependent on the yield strength, the applied tension and the diameter of the smallest roll.

  • ice yield and plant growth response to nitrogen (N) fertilizer may vary within a field, probably due to spatially variable soil conditions. An experiment designed for studying the response of rice yield to different rates of N in combination with variable soil conditions was carried out at a field where spatial variation in soil properties, plant growth, and yield across the field was documented from our previous studies for two years. The field with area of 6,600 m2 was divided into six strips running east-west so that variable soil conditions could be included in each strip. Each strip was subjected to different N application level (six levels from 0 to 165kg/ha), and schematically divided into 12 grids $(10m \times10m\;for\;each\;grid)$ for sampling and measurement of plant growth and rice grain yield. Most of plant growth parameters and rice yield showed high variations even at the same N fertilizer level due to the spatially variable soil condition. However, the maximum plant growth and yield response to N fertilizer rate that was analyzed using boundary line analysis followed the Mitcherlich equation (negative exponential function), approaching a maximum value with increasing N fertilizer rate. Assuming the obtainable maximum rice yield is constrained by a limiting soil property, the following model to predict rice grain yield was obtained: $Y=10765{1-0.4704^*EXP(-0.0117^*FN)}^*MIN(I-{clay},\;I_{om},\;I_{cec},\;I_{TN},\; I_{Si})$ where FN is N fertilizer rate (kg/ha), I is index for subscripted soil properties, and MIN is an operator for selecting the minimum value. The observed and predicted yield was well fitted to 1:1 line (Y=X) with determination coefficient of 0.564. As this result was obtained in a very limited condition and did not explain the yield variability so high, this result may not be applied to practical N management. However, this approach has potential for quantifying the grain yield response to N fertilizer rate under variable soil conditions and formulating the site-specific N prescription for the management of spatial yield variability in a field if sufficient data set is acquired for boundary line analysis.

  • Recently, as the height of building is getting higher, the applications of CFST column for high-rise buildings have been increased. In structural system of high-rise building, The RC core and exterior concrete-filled tubular (CFST) column-beam pinned connection is one of the structural systems that support lateral load. If this structural system is used, due to the minimal CFST column thickness compared to that of the CFST column width, the local moment occurred by the eccentric distance between the column flange surface from shear bolts joints degrades the shear strength of the CFST column-beam pinned connections. This study performed a finite element analysis to investigate the shear strength under eccentric moment of the CFST column-beam pinned connections. The column's width and thickness were used as variables for the analysis. To guarantee the reliability of the finite element analysis, an actual-size specimens were fabricated and tested. The yield line theory was used to formulate an shear strength formula for the CFT column-beam pinned connection. the shear strength formula was suggested through comparison on the results of FEM analysis, test and yield lime theory, the shear strength formula was suggested.

  • When a R.C. slab is designed by the yield line theory, there is a possibility of local failure caused by an extreme moment distribution on the yield lines. To reduce the local failures the use of the formula in which the plastic resistence moment in the middle strips is different from that in the column strips was suggested. The formula also has a few other parameters for which the values have to be determined to design the R.C. slab. An attempt was made to determine the ideal values of all these parameters. This will make it easy and realistic to design the R.C. slab by the yield line method.

  • This paper focused on square steel tubular column to H-beam connections (concrete filled tubular) with an outside-type diaphragm. Based on the yield line theory and the nonlinear static FEM analysis the specification equations were evaluated by comparing them with previous result of the simplified tensile experiment[please check. The yield line theory applied to the mechanical model theory revised by K. Morita, the nonlinear static FEM analysis using abaqus/standard, the ultimate strength equation in the specification equation using the factor for long-time loading, and the yield ratio according to material. The allowable strength in the specification equations applied the safety factors of 2.2 and 2.6 in the cases with and without filled concrete, respectively. Therefore, the evaluation of strength(for the previous result of the simplified tensile experiment in this study) was considered possible through the yield line theory, the nonlinear static FEM analysis, and the specification equations. Likewise, the specification equations were seen to be an underestimate of the previous result of the simplified tensile experiment. The strength and displaced mesh in the FEM analysis approximated the previous result of the simplified tensile experiment.

  • An assessment of Kuwait's commercial fish stocks: hamoor (Epinephelus tauvina), zobaidy (Pampus argenteus), nakroor (Pomadasys argenteus) and sheiry (Lethrinus nebulosus), was conducted using length-frequency data, mean growth and mortality estimates obtained during 1981$\~$1988. The length-cohort analysis indicated that increases in fishing effort would not lead to long-term gains in yield of the stocks at the current estimate of natural mortality rate (M). At high M which was assumed arbitrarily, some benefit in yield could be obtained, especially for hamoor and sheiry. At low M, the yield of all stocks decreased with increased fishing effort. Increases in fishing effort resulted in significant dec-line in spawning stock size for all the stocks. Yield-per-recruit analysis indicated that, un-der low M assumption, a higher yield can be obtained for zobaidy and nakroor by reducing fishing effort. At moderate M, decreases in fishing effort brought gains in yield per recruit of the stocks, but it was not substantial compared with the present level of M. At high M, most of the stocks reached the maximum yield-per-recruit. Overall, increased fishing effort either will not be associated with large long-term gains in yield or, in some stocks, might cause a decline from the present level.
