An information sharing system, namely World Design View, is developed for browsing product design data on the World Wide Web environment. For the last few years information sharing has been rapidly emerging as an important research issue in the areas of concurrent engineering, product data management, virtual manufacturing, and so on. Since we are mainly concerned with product development, the key information that needs be communicated and shared is product data. The developed system puts the major advantages of STEP, OODB, and VRML together. The STEP standard provides a consistent data exchange format and application interfaces among different CAD/CAM systems. OODB is efficient and effective in dealing with complex data structures often found in engineering applications. Virtual worlds for 3-D product models can be created by VRML which is networked via the global Internet and hyperlinked with WWW. The World Design View system can support for members of virtual design teams, possibly distributed all over the world, to share 3-D shape information quickly and easily.

ITK-SNAP (http://www.itksnap.org) and 3D Slicer (CMFreg extension module; www.slicer.org) are open-source softwares which can be used for superimposition of cone-beam CT images. For superimposition, segmentation of bone is done with ITK-SNAP, and then voxel based superimposition of CBCT images can be performed using 3D Slicer. 3D Slicer has various visualization modules which are not provided in common commercial programs. 'Models' module is used to visualize two overlapping three-dimensional images, and this allows various visualizations by changing view mode and color of the model. In addition, differences between two CBCT images can be represented in a color map using 'ShapePopulationViewer' module. This report introduces how to superimpose and visualize CBCT images using ITK-SNAP and 3D Slicer, and the usefulness and limitations of both softwares will be discussed in comparison with commercial softwares.

This study was intended to find the use patterns of internet search engines of librarians and to measure the relationship between internet use frequency and the use behavior of internet search engines. The results showed that librarians use Web search engines for academic information retrieval and are satisfied with the search results. The major problems when librarians use search engines were that search engines retrieve many non-relevant documents. As a result of hypotheses test, the relationship between internet frequency and the preference of search engines was not significantly different. On the other hand, the hypotheses that internet frequency affects satisfaction of search results, recognition of importance of search engines, and the need of retraining of librarians for internet information retrieval were shown to be significant.

WWW으로 대표되는 인터넷과 정보통신기술의 발달은 컴퓨터 응용 및 컴퓨팅 환경에 상당한 변화를 가져왔으며, 여러 분야에서 이들 기술이 응용되고 있다. WWW 기반의 기술들이 교육분야에 적용 및 활용되어 EDUNET, OCU(Open Cyber University) , 유니텔의 사이버 고등학교 등, 기존의 교육 패터다임을 변모시키는 새로운 형태의 고육체계 구현을 통해 교육현장에 커다란 기여를 하고 있다. 이러한 가상 학습 환경에서의 교수-학습을 효율적이고 체계적으로 준비, 실시, 관리할 수 있도록 지원해주는 시스템을 가상학습 지원시스템이라 한다. 본 논문은 가상학습환경이 새로운 교수-학습환경으로 자리매김하고 있는 가운데 교수-학습의 효율성을 향상시키기위한 지원 시스템을 어떠한 관점에서 어떤 기능을 중심으로 설계해야하는 가와 기존 교실교육에 비해 효과적 학습을 유지하고 향상시킬수 있는 핵심요인들을 도출하기 위하여 학습전략을 비교 분석하고 그 결과가 어떻게 설계에 적용될 수 있는가를 제시하고자한다.

Life cycle product data is very important yet difficult to handle for manufacturing companies. Shoring and exchanging product data over world-wide-web is a part of key technology to implement PDM or CALS. STEP is widely accepted as a standard to represent the life-cycle product model data. Described in this paper is a web browser plug-in that can graphically display and explore product data represented by STEP over internet. By the use of the plug-in (named "npSTEP"), a product model data stored in STEP format on a web server can be displayed on a commonly used web client (browser), such as Netscape navigator, without any format conversion process. Furthermore one can explore the components or attributes of the product model data in hierarchical manner.

멀티미디어 컨텐츠의 지능형 선택/검색 시스템(MISS: Multimedia Content Intelligent Selection/search) 는 콘텐츠를 공급하는 서버에 다량의 멀티미디어 컨텐츠들이 존재하며, 이 컨텐츠 중에서 원하는 것을 검색, 선택하는 시스템이다. 지능적 검색, 선택기능을 갖는 MISS 시스템은 인터넷 및 네트워크상에 연결된 시스템들간의 맞춤형 서비스 구현에 필요한 핵심이며, 모든 종류의 멀티미디어 콘텐츠에 적용 가능하다. 현재 WWW 서비스경우는 정보를 찾기 위하여 웹상에서 문서를 찾아주는 텍스트 기반 정보검색기술이 사용되고 있는데, 점점 우리가 접하는 정보의 형태는 텍스트와 함께 화상, 음성, 동영상 등의 멀티미디어화 및 디지털화하고 있다. 사용자들에게는 멀티미디어 데이터를 효과적으로 찾아야 하는 필요성이 증가하고 이에 따라 방대한 양의 분산된 멀티미디어 데이터를 처리할 수 있는 색인 및 검색 도구의 요구가 커지게 되었다. MISS 시스템은 WWW 서비스의 요구에도 적용될 수 있다. MISS 시스템은 다량의 동영상 콘텐츠 중에서 특정 배우, 감독등의 여러 가지 검색 조건으로 콘텐츠를 검색/선택할 수 있고, 하나의 동영상 콘텐츠 내에서 특정Video Segment를 검색할 수 있다. 본 MISS 시스템은 동영상에 대한 Search/Query를 위한DS 구조로써 MPEG-7의 User preference metadata를 이용하였다.

본 연구에서는 MHEG을 기반으로 한 원격 교육/훈련 시스템으 설계한다. 설계하는 시스템은 코스웨어를 제공하고, 비동기모드로 브라우징하여 개별 학습을 지원하던 기존 시스템과는 달리 , 교육적 효과를 높이기 위해 비동기 방식과 동기 방식을 동시에 수용할수 있도록 설계하였다. 특히 동기 방식은 사용자 공동 작업 환경을 위한 세션 관리 모듈을 두어 실시간 화상 강의 응용에서 학습자 및 세션 제어에 대한 연산을 제공함으로써 학습 효율을 향상시킬수 있으며, MHEG 표준을 도입하여 학습자와의 실시간 상호 작용을 충분히 지원함으로써 훈련 시스템에서의 시뮬레이션 지원 능력을 극대화 할수 있도록 하였다.

The Society for Integrative Oncology (SIO) is an international organization established to encourage scientific evaluation, dissemination of evidence-based information, and appropriate clinical integration of complementary therapies (http://www.Integrativeonc.org.). Practice Guidelines were developed by the authors listed below and by the Executive Committee of the Society for Integrative Oncology, which approved this document. Guidelines are a work in progress; they will be updated as needed and are available on the SIO Web site as well: www.IntegrativeOnc.org.

IPv6 포럼 코리아(http://www.ipv6.or.kr)는 지난 2000년, 정부의 지원 하에 IPv6 기술의 국내 조기 도입을 목표로 IPv6 도입의 기술적 타당성 검증 및 적시성 검토, IPv6 관련 시장 활성화, IPv6 기술의 교육및 보급, IPv4 기반의 인터넷에서 IPv6 기반의 차세대인터넷으로 전환 하기 위한 환경조성 등을 목적으로 구성되었으며, 올해로 만 6년째를 맞이하고 있다. 2006년 1월 현재 IPv6 포럼 코리아는 ETRI를 중심으 로 국내 산·학·연의 73개 기관회원과 158명의 개인회원이 참여하고있으며, 의장인 이형호 박사(한국전자통신연구원 표준연구센터장)를 중 심으로 국내 정부 지원 IT 핵심 포럼 중에서 가장 활발한 포럼 중의 하나로 성장하였다. 지난 6년 동안 본 포럼은 국내 산·학·연을 중심으로 IPv6 기술 교류및 보급을 통한 기술력 확보 및 기반 조성 노력을 강화해 왔으며, 국제 IPv6 포럼(http://www.ipv6forum.com)과 연계하여 국제 사회에서 우리나라의 위상 제고 노력을 경주해 왔다. 특히, 국내외에서 IPv6의 도입 및 Promotion이 충분히 활성화됨에 따라 IPv6 포럼 코리아는 2005년을 IPv6 관련 포럼 표준화 추진의 원년으로 삼고 효율적인 포 럼표준화 추진을 위하여 새롭게 조직을 정비하고 국내외의 IPv6 관련표준화에 주도적인 역할을 수행하고 있다.

국내에서는 최근 대학 및 각종 연구기관에서 첨단 학술정보에 대한 요구가 급증하고 있으며, 필요한 학술정보의 입수를 위하여 국내외 학술정보망의 이용이 점차 활발해지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내 연구자들의 인터넷 사용을 활성화시키기 위하여 인터넷이 제공하는 정보자원 탐색도구들을 살펴보고 이를 통해 접근할 수 있는 다양한 학술적 정보자원들을 발굴하였다. 또한 WAIS, WWW, 고퍼를 통해 접근할 수 있는 인터넷 정보자원들과 도서관 OPAC의 분석을 통해 학술정보망으로서의 인터넷의 가치를 평가하였다.
