The proposed costs of working wives included the long working time (time cost), the short leisure time(energy cost), the increase of expenditures fro services and the serious role conflict(psychological cost). Three methods, t-test, simple regression analysis, multiple regression analysis/tobit analysis were used to analyse the differences in consumption of resources between two groups. On the basis of the analysed results, the employment cost of working wives were discussed.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate whether employed mothers' extended working hours have effects on childcare style and work-family conflicts. The data came from the 2007 Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Family(KLoWF) of the Korean Women's Development Institute. 475 females with preschoolers or elementary-school children were used in this study. The major findings can be summarized as follows: (1) Weekly average working hours varied by education, salary, and the presence of preschoolers. (2) The time of childcare was significantly shorter in mothers who work more than 50 hours/week (3) Mothers who worked more than 50 hours/week felt significantly high work-family conflict. These analyses pointed to the importance of obeying the law related to working hours as the most important thing to sustain work-family balance. Institutional foundations should be enabled to keep legal working hours.

  • A clinical evaluation was made on teeth in 113 subjects from ages 19 to 23 with Angle's Class I occlusion who were free from prosthesis, orthodontics, and occlusal equilibration. The study was made to determine if there was a relation between the type of occlusion, non-working contact and temporomandibular dysfunction. From the foregoing study, the author obtained the following results. 1. In lateral excursion, there was not any significant difference between bilateral canine protected occlusion (31%), bilateral group function (32.7%), and mixed type (34.5%). 2. Only 10 of 113 subjects studied had non-working side tooth contacts (8.2 per cent). 3. Twenty per cent of subjects with non-working side contact showed temporomandibular joint dysfunction. 4. Non-working side contacts were not observed in subjects with canine guided occlusion. 5. It would be premature to relate the type of occlusion on working side directly to temporomandibular joint dysfunction.

  • This study was performed to design and develop an ergonomic equipment for strawberry sorting and packing in agricultural working environments. Potential risk of work related musculo-skeletal disorders associated with farm workers performing strawberry sorting and packing was analyzed through interviews, field surveys, work measurement, and working posture evaluation. For the evaluation of working posture, we used REBA, OWAS, and RULA assessment methods to identify multi-factorial risk factors. Based on the result of comprehensive assessment, a new concept of multi-level rotating table for strawberry sorting and packing was proposed to modify awkward working postures and improve the effectiveness of the farm work. Finally, the characteristics and effectiveness of new equipment was discussed in terms of improvements in productivity, safety, and subjective ratings of farm workers. The results of analysis showed that working conditions improved significantly.

The dissatisfaction of clothing practice of uniform was shown high in design and material. The order of preference in the color was blue, navy, blue, gray, green. In case of taking care of uniform, sewing durability and shape stability were poor in comparison with washing easiness. The correlation between overall comfort and wearing sense of uniform as sense of wearing and taking off, texture and movement function, was relatively high, but it appeared the low correlation in physiological comfort.

  • Construction victims have increased year by year. Disaster proportion is also increasing continuously. Looking over the causes of disasters by each type of work, fall from working platform indicate the highest rate above all so that it is urgently required to set up safety measures. This study is to grasp the present status of construction accidents, to identify areal characteristics of the top 20% accidents on the basis of working platforms with the highest accident rate, to grasp the causes of accidents after their analyses, and to present methods to reduce casualties related to working platforms. As measures to reduce construction disasters, this study proposes to improve safety management and training on working platforms, to complement safety regulations, and to better performance including the development and expansion of certified products suitable for safety regulations.
