The purpose of this research was to find out attitudes toward work and leisure in later life and intention to move to senior community available to work among 50's in Pusan, Daegu, and Daejeon. The survey had been conducted in 414 respondents with questionnaire during May to June, 2003. Frequency, Crosstabs, T-test and ANOVA were obtained from the collected data using SPSS/WIN program. The results of this study were as follows. First, most respondents were preparing toward work in later life somewhat actively and the level of preparation differed by individual characteristics. Those who have higher level of education and subjective economic power were more active. The most preferred work item in later life were raising animals and plants, managing institution and training center and running shop. Those who have higher level of education and asset preferred managing institution and training center. Second, nearly three fourths of middle-aged have chosen leisure activities in consideration of later life and two thirds were preparing economically for leisure in later life. They have strong intention to participate in the leisure activity in later life and they also wanted to take part in various kinds of leisure activities. Those who have higher levels of education, subjective economic power, health and asset were more active in preparing leisure in later life. Third, over two thirds preferred to live and work in later life together with others rather than to live and work alone. Nearly half had intention to move to the senior community where work was available. The intention to move were differed by attitudes to work and leisure in later life. Those who were active in work and leisure in later life presented higher intention to move to senior community available work.
This study aimed to analyze the attitudes which married women, who are employed or not, have to the four flexible work conditions; flexible working hours, home-based work, guarantee of reentering into the work place, and a certain allocation of women's labor force. Whether the married women were employed or not, they showed a favorable attitude to the four flexible work conditions. For the married women who were not employed, their age, education level, husband's occupation, their wanted income(if they have a job), and work experience were significant variables to affect the attitudes to each work condition. In contrast to above results, the attitudes to each work condition that the employed women had were significantly different according to more various variables including personal variables, child related variables, and work related variables. suggest that married women hoped the sex conscious systems would be introduced in the labor market.
With the increase of elderly people, educators have begun designing experiences to prepare students to work with elderly group. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the knowledge and attitude of students majoring in food and nutrition for the elderly and their intentions to provide services for the elderly. The knowledge level of the students was in a medium range, and no relationship was found between knowledge and attitudes using Pearson correlation. The knowledge did not significantly differ across gender and academic level when compared using t-test and ANOVA, but knowledge level was significantly different based on residential experiences with elderly over 65 years of age (p < 0.05). Students had neutral attitudes toward working with elderly employees and working for elderly. Students had positive intentions to work with elderly employees, seek employment in an organization for elderly clients/customers, and seek opportunities for positive social interaction with the elderly. However, students do not have positive work preference with elderly employees. As a result of multiple regression analysis, it was found that knowledge was not a predictor of intentions to provide services to the elderly. However, attitudes toward working with elderly employees, attitudes toward elderly, residential experiences with elderly > 65 years have been predicted the intentions to work with elderly employees. Attitudes working with elderly employees and attitudes toward elderly influenced the intentions to work in the organizations to provide services to elderly. This study can be identified the need for additional didactic preparation and experiences to prepare students to work with elder aging population.

The goal of the research is to identify the relationship between organizational justice, job satisfaction, and work attitudes in the context of job rotation. The competence and loyalty of the employees of an organization are critical to the organization's success. Therefore, organization should invest in developing their employees, including creating effective procedures and human resource management policies. A job rotation program is one of the critical policies in developing employees, as through this program employees can develop and actualize their abilities. However, there are some challenges in practice regarding implementing the procedures of job rotation. One of the challenges is related to the concept of organizational justice, which then impacts on employees' job satisfaction and work attitudes. This study was conducted in focused group discussions. The sample is 272 of a state-owned organization. In this study, the concept of organizational justice, with the dimensions of distributive justice, procedural justice, and interactional justice, were used along with the discussion of job satisfaction and other work attitudes. The results were issues of fairness in perceiving organizational justice in the job rotation context, and the most significant response lies in procedural justice.
This study attempts to examine family attitudes and gender role divisions of married women in contemporary Vietnam and Korea. Drawing data from the 2003 Vietnam Family Study and the 2005 Korean Marriage and Fertility Study, this study investigated 1) attitudes of married women toward marriage, cohabitation, divorce, and having children, 2) decision making on household expenditures, and 3) household work division between husband and wife. The results showed that married Korean women were less inclined toward traditional family attitudes regarding marriage and children than married Vietnamese women. Decision on routine household expenditures was made and household work was done mostly by the wife in the two countries. In comparison, married Vietnamese men took more responsibilities for important financial decisions and child education than married Korean men. These overall findings imply that patriarchical family and gender role norms were preserved to larger extent in contemporary Vietnam than in Korea.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the influences of work-family conciliation strategies on work-family conflict and enrichment in dual-earner couples who live in Daegu with children. The subjects of this study were 176 dual-earner couples, who have under 16 youngest children and work over 15 hours each week. The research tool was questionnaires. For data analysis, factor analysis, Cronbach ${\alpha}$, paired t-test and multiple regression were performed. The main results of this study were as following. First, there were significant differences in management and planning skill strategy, work-family conflict and enrichment according to gender. Second, positive attitudes strategy toward multiple responsibilities, wives use, had an influence on work${\rightarrow}$family conflict in wives. Also, partner coping, management and planning skill, and positive attitudes strategy, wives use, and management and planning skill strategy, husbands use, had an influence on family${\rightarrow}$work conflict in wives. And management and planning skill and professional adjustment strategy, husbands use, had an influence on family${\rightarrow}$work conflict in husbands. work-family conciliation strategies had no influence on work${\rightarrow}$family conflict. Third, positive attitudes strategy toward multiple responsibilities, wives use, had an influence on work${\rightarrow}$family enrichment in wives. Also, partner coping strategy, wives use, and management and planning skill strategy, husbands use, had an influence on family${\rightarrow}$work enrichment in wives. And positive attitudes strategy toward multiple responsibilities, husbands use, had an influence on work${\rightarrow}$family enrichment in husbands. Also management and planning skill strategy, wives use, and partner coping, professional adjustment and management and planning skill strategy had an influence on family${\rightarrow}$work enrichment in husbands.

Objective: The Job Demand & Resources model suggests work characteristics are related to mental well-being and work engagement. Previous work describes the development of a combined construct 'engaged well-being at work' (EWB). To what extent changes in measures of this construct are responsive to changes in job demands and resources or associated with changes in job-related attitudes has not been established. Methods: Longitudinal employee-level data from three waves (German Linked Personnel Panel) were used. Logistic and linear fixed effects regression analyses explored longitudinal associations between changes in EWB for participants over a three-year period with changes in job demands and resources and job-related attitudes (job commitment, satisfaction, and turnover intentions). Results: While job resources were associated with increased odds for a change into a healthier and/or more engaged category of EWB, job demands reduced them. Job resources were more strongly related to higher EWB (ORrange = 1.22 - 1.61) than job demands (ORrange = 0.79 - 0.96). Especially psychological job demands showed negative associations with improved EWB (OR = 0.79). A change from the least desirable category 'disengaged strain' to any other category of EWB was associated with greater odds by up to 20.6 % for increased commitment and job satisfaction and lower odds for turnover intentions. Discussion: Improving work characteristics, especially job resources, could increase employees' EWB, emphasizing the importance of job characteristics for a healthy workplace. Because EWB seems to be associated with job attitudes, an improvement of this indicator would be relevant for employees and employers.
The intention of this study was: 1) to standardize the Korean version of the Dogmatism Scale, 2) to examine whether environmental structure affects value systems such as attitudes toward work, time perspective and the personality dimension of dogmatism in adolescent vocational and non-vocational trainees, 3) to examine relationships between those value systems and group differences in personality characteristics of vocational and non-vocational trainees, 4) to observe whether there are differences between high-dogmatism and low-dogmatism subjects with regard to attitudes toward work and future time perspective. The subjects for the study included 841 adolescent vocational (226) and nonvocational (615) from vocational training centers, schools and universities in Seoul. The instruments used in this study were 1) a questionnaire for attitudes toward work, 2) the Future Time Perspective (FTP) developed by Christiansen and 3) the Dogmatism Scale. The results of the present study indicated that behavior settings or environmental variables such as organization type affect the formation of attitudes and of dogmatism in adolescents. The results also showed that dogmatism relates to future time perspectives. This differs from Rokeach's theoretical statements. Dogmatism in this study was related to time perspective, the relationships were optimistic in emotional areas, long-term in direction and concrete in structure. The inconsistency between the results of the present study and Rokeach's suggests further study. A "Psycho-Environmental Model" for the formation of value systems based on the results of this and earlier research of the author were discussed.
This study aims at studying dual-earner couple's household work time and life satisfaction in modern times. To reach this goal, dual-earner couple's variable of society and population, income for working hours, attitude of sex's role and working hours time were classified as individual variable of study model. In the end of 2000, positive analysis was completed through dual-earner couples' frequencies, percentage, means, paired-samples T Test, one-way ANOVA, duncan test, multiple regression and path analysis to 112 Korean couples in 'Research material for comparative analysis of family's time use in Korea and in the United States' performed by Lee, Ki-young, along with 3 person in the end of 2000. The time of household work performance at home at this stage is about 30 hours. 90% of 30 hours was given by housewife who was working for another job. In the aspect of dual-earner couple's life satisfaction, the life satisfaction is a little over the level of average. In variables couple's life satisfaction, wife's life satisfaction was additionally influenced by variable of wife's profession, age difference of couple, wife's household work time husband's household work time and wife's sex-role attitudes in oder. Husband's life satisfaction was perfectly influenced by his level of education, his household work time and wife's sex-role attitudes.
